It's only been 2 eps, ignore the ratings. Make it your own way π
Yeaaah that's totally valid too π I have more experience with first 5 or 6 eps being boring but then the story finally starts taking turns, so that's why. But many times even I can't hold out that long.
I think you depicted the weak aspects of this show very nicely . I've been feeling the same (10 episodes out of 14 and I sadly don't sympathize with the characters at all) . I feel like this writing is so lost and a story that could've been a deep message with complex characters developed into a competition in randomness. I'm not exactly blown away by the acting either. And the endless flashbacks to each of previous episodes are so unnecessary. π₯² I can't really see how some people say that he complexity of these characters is so beyond.... they all feel rather flat and only serving the purpose of the plot, in my opinion. However, I don't mean to take anyone's fun and excitement away.
Roughly put, brutally honest even, but I agree with you. Some words I'd choose differently, but the ultimate message is the same. I thought I was genuinely the only one who doesn't "bawl their eyes out" and doesn't need their "tissues ready" as many people repeat when it comes to this drama. To me it doesn't feel emotional at all, it feels just 2D and flat when it comes to the characters gaining my sympathy and effort. I understand the story itself is painful on the paper and it is supposed to be a tear-jerker. Maybe that's why it doesn't trigger tears for me, because before I'm even ready to care about the characters as a viewer I'm ALREADY being fed with their pain, sorrow and misfortune. But how am I to feel sad when I spent like 10 minutes with these characters.... And when it's clear that the script isn't trying to make me feel sad, but is rather telling me "hey, so this is the time to be sad, be sad now" .
And as for the FL acting, it doesn't really make me sympathize at all, unfortunately. Can't blame it on the actress as I don't see behind the curtains, maybe in other roles she'd deliver better, so I don't mean to judge her. But for being a main character I certainly don't care about her at all.
To have Eunwoo as an eyecandy is, understandably, nice. However, he seeks revenge on a broken mother who lost her child because his father had been a selfish prick.... How does it feel to have a dad who literally killed an innocent boy and left him to die in despair.. ? Eunwoo's character doesn't know, he couldn't tell, because apparently he never cared about that in the first place. That being sad, it obviously doesn't justify the murder being committed on his father aswell. The story AND characters aren't presented with even half the depth that all people in the comments are talking about. I respect their opinion, however, I myself can't convince myself about the worth and bring myself to see what others see in this drama.
I certainly wouldn't give it a 2.0 as there's a crew of people that'd been working on this drama, it cost money and I'm sure many of them tried their best, be it visuals, camera shots, mascara, OST, setting, effects. Their jobs might be depending on it. Nothing deserves to be rated this low. Despite that, atleast someone who didn't give it a 10 appeared.

I totally get that. π Sometimes it's better to watch more episodes in a row for it to help you dive into the story more, rather than have the eps separated.
To me personally it usually applies an episode 3-6 rule, meaning it takes me 3 to 6 episodes to decide if I care about the drama or not π so I usually lose hope and drop around ep 6 or 7 not to waste my precious hours
Not fan of doctors drama...but I always watch a few episodes if the focus of the storyline is less about doctors,…
oh I hate those kinds of flashbacks... it still doesn't make me feel like I went through their story... what doesn't happen in present timeline simply feels like I wasn't there and doesn't affect me. Flashbacks are just means of the writers to SHOW US and basically feed us with some key moments they can't squeeze anywhere else..... but only hardly it makes me FEEL too, somehow ππ
There's a lot going on:1. you've got the folks who just hate the female lead, they think she can't act (she's…
Aaaah, I see. I dropped it somewhere around then, too. Only I had assumed that given what we saw at the beginning, that Tae Ho somehow is plotting a revenge on his dad which he'll be able to put into movement once he becomes rich or sometning in that manner.... The first two episodes included a lot of his flashbacks from which then his discussions and plans with In Ha were derived. It surprises me (or maybe not actually that much) that in the end there probably was no reason why they foreshadowed these two issues being connected... π Anyways, thank you for the response. π

Oh I got a question πββοΈ Did they find out eventually what Tae Ho's abusive dad had anything to do with the power race, or was it just totally random? π
I remember reading a comment like 4 or so days back.... saying that the tempo in which the rating dropped to 7.1 predicted that by the time it ends it will have dropped to 6.9 ..... I came here today and was like HOLY SHIT IT REALLY DID DROP!!! π π π π I feel so sorry for the outcome when I know how promising the first 2 eps were and feel sorry for all the people in crew who worked on it.... π
tell me how a psychological thriller drama about some crazy teenage girls torturing each other with a game became…
I think what plays a big part is probably how the girls warm up to each other and how you see the evil being punished, though veeeeeeeeeeeery slowly. I think because you see people starting to own up to their actions and standing up for themselves. I wouldn't call it a comfort drama, but I'm almost sure I know what you mean π
