Title The Worst of Evil Spoiler
Due to my personal choice of not wanting to watch due to the emotional turmoil it will be for me. Can u pls tell…
I think it was mainly that he saw Gicheul wanted to shoot himself and reacted spontaneously to stop him. The gun was the only thing he had in his hand at that moment and the rush to stop Gicheul from killing himself made him pull the trigger cause it was the fastest thing to possibly do, unfortunately not helpig much in the end.

Title The Worst of Evil Spoiler
I knew.... I mean I KNEW, either Junmo or Gicheul are bound to die in the end. It was truly tragic to watch the resolution between them. Junmo let him go, but he had literally nothing to go back to. He traded all his "friends" and coworkers because he decided to trust the woman he loved along with Seungho/Junmo. He lost his business and everything he from his point of view worked hard for this whole time. All the stability and safety nets he used to have. He was completely on his own. He realized he's been betrayed and he "bet on the wrong horses" even though his lifetime friends tried to convince him otherwise.

Junmo on the other hand was torn between two worlds and was very much aware that even when deep down he wants it all to end he couldn't help but let Gicheul and Haeryeon grow on him.... God it's so psychologically painful and heavy. I mean it was clear from the start that it had to come to this and that he'd end up contradicted, it wasn't any unexpected turn out, but that doesn't take away from the weight it had.

One of the things I don't understand when Min Gu realized Seungho is a cop, why didn't he think to check in with the police first when he saw that both Junmo AND his cop-wife were involved.... he didn't think to report it in and instead went to rat to the Chinese drug cartel? It's obvious he had dark past and wasn't your normal cop when Jungbae said it was safe to reach out to him after doing background check on his history. And we could all see he was a scumbag and basically a thug himself, thinking only about his own "promotion" .... However, my brain still froze when he showed those papers to Haeryeon instead of reporting to the authorities. Maybe I missed something?

Fuuuuuuuuu*k daaaaamn what a ride it was. Tremendous. And devastating. I need more dramas like this. So complex and emotional. And perfectly serious. No matter the possible plot inconsistencies the overall production and acting are 10/10 as clear as day to me. I need recovery.

Title The Worst of Evil Spoiler
So I’m seeing people say that euijeong still loved ki chul. Is that right?
I think people just enjoy feeding their fantasies. She most definitely cared for him, wanted to save him, redeem him, wished for him to be happy. She probably had feelings for him, soft spot, sympathy. Absolutely. But she would've stayed with Junmo. When everything was wrapped up, she didn't look for Gicheul and wasn't trying to find where he ran off to. She went to her husband. Unfortunately the damage was done on both of them and they could hardly go back to where they were. Junmo went through too much to be the same as he was before he started the investigation. He became a different man.

Alright... So I watched the first episode because this drama had rather positive ovations and it looked like something…
Thank you for your comment, I appreciate it very much. πŸ™πŸ»

It saddens me to see it's more or less a trend because it ruins the atmosphere for me. I'll try to hang in there for the first few episodes like you say and see if things get better, even with the other historical dramas .

Thank you for your recommendation, appreciated!

I avoided that drama because I thought it was "just another historical drama" which all seem to be the same romance-humorous clichΓ©s with too obvious costumes... But when I read the synopsis I see it's a little bit something else πŸ˜… I mean I don't mind romance at all, but I'm really picky about most of FLs, it's hard for me to find a standable and relatable oneπŸ˜… He plays a villain there?

I've had this on my ptw ever since it's been announced because I just loved Lee Sang Yeob's delivery in While you were sleeping and I was desperate to watch more of his work (where he'd get bigger roles). He's an eye-candy no doubt, but his acting, the detail in his face expression....🀧
However I still didn't bring myself to watch this. Why? Because based on the comments I fear a cheesy love square with age differences, I fear a cheesy Mary Sue yet ultra clumsy-funny OR ultra bold-sassy FL and I fear it's going to overshadow the overall plot or the focus on the sport itself. So..... is it any of these? πŸ˜…

Dropped it pretty much for the same reasons... 900 yo man (never minding that he's looking 40) falling in love…
Yeah I get it, me also. Although by now I already have the experience that when I have something on hold for longer than half year I usually dont get back to it anyway xD

Okay, I might still try it then and see where it goes. Thank you for your response! 😊

I'm on ep 6 and about to drop it. I feel like nothing happened yet, the relationship between the main leads is…
Dropped it pretty much for the same reasons... 900 yo man (never minding that he's looking 40) falling in love with 18yo childish girl.... their interactions don't make sense, her clinginess doesn't either and the side characters despite being interesting barely do anything at the end of the day.... long episodes with literally nothing happening, only draggy conversations without peak point and filler moments ..... such wasted potential, the idea itself was good 😐

glad I didn’t drop this, it’s getting interesting.
To be honest neither of the characters grew on me in first 4 episodes and neither did the story....It's the type of plot I go for and I want to enjoy, but I wasn't intrigued at all into what happens next, while everyone in the comments kept praising it ever since the beginning how brilliant it was. It seemed a little too early to me for it to have such ovation and everybody wondering and guessing the culprit when in my opinion nothing was really happening – this isn't a hate, i'm just stating how I felt... So does it get better and more tense? I didn't understand the characters interaction at all and didn't feel any chemistry between them (I don't mean romance) ....and was quite bored. Does the story progress into something more captivating or do you think the vibe from first 4 episodes doesn't change that much...? I really wanted to continue on watching this... πŸ˜‚

Title The Red Sleeve Spoiler
I have an important question on historical drama such as this one watchers.... please? I'll hide it under spoiler…
Alright... So I watched the first episode because this drama had rather positive ovations and it looked like something serious. At the end of episode 1 we have an adult woman (Lee Se Young) – I came here for her – yet she's smiling like a mischievous kid girl and pulls pranks on others, with that "silly" monologues of hers. Even from first minutes I can see the type of FL she'd be.

So I'll just ask right away: is this a MATURE serious drama or is every other scene packed with cringe comedy, and the characters while being adult still act like awkward children....? Pardon my annoyence, it's just I already tried watching so many historical dramas with expectations, which always ended up being the same – either too draggy or with immature character reactions and goofy humor....

I just really wish I found a mature historical drama that would keep me on my toes and I'm already too sceptical. If I'm jumping to my conclusions too quickly please someone correct me, it's welcomed. But the bare fact that the story will revolve around a childhood trope AGAIN kills me already..... If there's anyone to lead me out of my misconception please do so. πŸ™

If you have any recommendations for good historical drama (even if there's a bit of silly humor I'll just suck it up.... but rather not because it's hard to take the plot seriously then πŸ˜….) I'm not expecting Korean Game of Thrones or Tudors.... But something that makes you feel like it's really happening and it's not just costumes? 2023's My Dearest had outstanding reviews but even there right in the first episode I already encountered the typical humor.... Are all historical dramas like this?

OMG I'm soooo glad someone mentioned it! I almost started crying in that scene. Damn that acting, how speechless…
Yes sorry, I had a spoiler tag on but when I edited my comment the tag turned off again and I didn't notice.

Yes, I know the circumstances and the other gang, and I know they caught Kyung Jin as the rat eventually. But we saw the other gang convincing Jung Bae in the restaurant and Seo Jung in the bathtub, to join them, and when the vans chased after Gi Cheul, Jung Bae's car was suddenly malfunctioning and Seo Jung was hidden in his car watching the whole fight before he finally stepped in, he seemed like he wasn't even going to. And Jung Bae standing next to his car looked like partly thinking "what have I done...." So that's why I'm still a bit confused about this plot πŸ˜…

Title The Worst of Evil Spoiler
I don’t understand why anyone would want the ML and FL to get in a relationship with anyone other than stay…
I think that one of the things that played a really big part is the chemistry between actors themselves – sometimes you can get something really big without even trying when you put two charismatic actors together β€” and yes the sexual tension is there undoubtedly, atleast on Bibi's character's part. But it's also clear as day that it makes Junmo incredibely uncomfortable. He hasn't forgotten who these people he surrounds himself with are and it's obviously unpleasant for him to imagine he'd have to do something "more" than talk with Bibi in order to keep his cover. He itches and twitches all the time and is clearly nervous, sometimes scared. You can see it all in his face, Chang Wook is doing such a good job and puts effort into every single detail, I've been noticing that especially last 3 episodes. So are all the other actors here, unbelievable.
So by that I was just trying to say, I agree with you. πŸ‘Œ I don't support this and definitely don't believe either of them would cheat on the other with the drug dealers, that's ridiculous and it's NOT WHY WE'RE HERE πŸ˜„ If it were to happen, probably it would be with Junmo, but for the sake of his mission, not out of his own desire, because there is NONE. Everybody can see how he panics immediately when it comes to his wife and how much he just wants to wrap it up and go back to her. He definitely isn't thinking of some chinese adventure here, trust me. That's not that we're in denial, we're only not delusional either....πŸ˜
