The drama added a lot of characters and stories that originally weren't in the book. It pretty much diverged when the screenwriter changed Yingkongshi's biological father. I guess that just makes the storyline richer?

You're welcome. I understand that Xue Hai got the looks, but I prefer Dalang too because he's not a playboy and he would never seek revenge or hurt Baozhu the way Xue Hai did. Xue Hai may look cool, but he still showed his funny and submissive nature whenever he was around Baozhu.

They should cut out the repetitive flashbacks and the dramatic dance scenes the characters had before they died. 50 episodes would have been fine for me.

I cry every time I rewatched this. Rainie Yang is such a talented actress.

You gotta understand that Xue Hai was not his true self, and Chen Baozhu only loves Lin Dalang. Xue Hai was more of a role from his Dissociative Personality Disorder.

I had to read this on Baidu Encyclopedia because the book had a different ending... The last scene was actually the future when Shi turned into a sleet bird and Kasuo awakens. Because Shi crashed into a reef, he was repeating the fate of where he died again for Kasuo.

According to the book, Yingkongshi was a sleet bird in his previous life that broke the iron chain of the criminal sorcerer (Kasuo previous life) who was trapped in the refining stone. He died in return for old Kasuo's freedom. Grandma is worried that the evil cycle of fate will continue.

Most Taiwanese celebrities don't promote or even use their English/Western names, so it doesn't matter to them. Some people just come up with a western name next to their chinese name so it's "cool" and it helps distinguish them from other celebs with the same chinese name. Ren Rong-Hsuan should have stuck to using her Mandarin name.
