My first Chinese xianxia--has a special place in my heart. And the worldbuilding!? Top-tier production.Easy 9…
It's actually Xianxia. Wuxia doesn't involve any magic or immortality. MDL doesn't have Xianxia as a separate genre (they have it as a tag), so that's why they listed as Wuxia.
I see Chinese audiences really love this drama . should I give it a try ? I really love speed and love and I can’t…
They like it only because they came from another drama. They like Esther Yu and Ding Yuxi's chemistry. In my opinion, the entire plot is too predictable. The female lead’s challenges in the workplace are not severe. She hardly encounters any real professional setbacks or failures, which makes her growth arc appear effortless and smooth. It's watchable as a slice-of-life though, just not good enough to be a 8.3, maybe a 6 is more reasonable.
Started this because of the high ratings. It's so BORING, predictable, and unrealistic. Why do they need to drag it out to 36 eps?
FL's growth arc started super smooth only because of her romantic relations to ML, not because of her workplace competence. Also she does PR work most of the time, barely any editing.
Does anyone know what time period does this take place in? Their hairstyles and clothing look so exotic, so different from typical korean historical dramas, even though the architecture is sinicized.
Okay, I haven't finished this yet, but I doubt the last 4 episodes are going to change my opinion much. In my…
I'm curious. What didn't you like about the storytelling?
Compared to other adaptations like Jade Palace Lock Heart, I liked how Scarlet Heart didn't waste my time with filler episodes. They showed us a lot of information through subtle details in quick, short scenes. (Like how Consort De's head is ALWAYS facing 14th prince even when she's speaking with 4th prince, to show that she doesn't favor him).
yeah, how DARE they make it accurate by giving them the correct hairstyles! 😂 how you not gonna watch something…
I love that they also included honorifics in the Manchu language! Gege for young lady, a-ge for young man, a-ma for father, e-niang for mother, fujin for wife, beile for prince of the third rank
Guys please DO NOT list "My Love From the Star" as the original story/related title again.
The original story comes from korean manhwa "Seol Hui" (설희). This drama here (LFY) is the only authorized adaptation. MLFTS is not—it plagiarized the original work.
is there a reason why the empress dubbing isn't good and doesn't exactly sound like she's saying it 😭
Because the actress reads most of her lines in Cantonese, a different dialect/language (not accent), while the unimportant lines are in Mandarin. This is common practice when hiring actors from Hong Kong.
pls recommend me a show like this going through mahor withdrawal
The closest would be War and Beauty (2004) because the original Zhen Huan novel plagiarized this drama!

Thanks! But: 1. The Legend of Xiao Chuo does have a lot to do with the Later Jin dynasty. It starts with Yan Yan…
Hi I just noticed "Fighter of the Destiny" and "A Slender Gentleman and a Good Lady" are included in here. Those shows are actually set in a fictional world. Their Great Zhou does not correspond to Zhou dynasty, just a shared name. I know this can be confusing for foreigners. My tip is to distinguish by clothing. Zhou dynasty clothing are visually similar to Qin and Han dynasty clothing.

Btw, The Journey (2017) has an arc on Investiture of Gods too.
