BAI LU Kicks Ass for 2/3 of the show .... and then the scriptwriter-director .. Kicks you in the shin followed by another kick in the teeth .. until you are ready to summon your devil bone to chew up the PDnim LIVE.

I detested how the Drama completely went to dregs post few eps in the palace ..
But Bai Lu was kickass .. LOVED the role she essayed .. and hats off to the Writer - director for having given us for 2/3 of the drama an FL who isn't simpering and bending to the will of the patriarchy and gives it as much as she gets ..
Also loved the ML character - as it was written to be, not a as a judgement of whether he has high morals / standards or not. Drama characters aren't limited to being written as ROLE-MODELS for high school kids .. they are written for being interesting and complex and flawed.

~ Bloody Heart ~ The Red Sleeves ~ TTEOTM (? not everyone's cuppa .. but if it speaks to you you have the Devil Bone and you are a Moony forever) ~ Lighter and Princess (Li Xun will haunt you and decide to rent a cubic cm of space in your mind) ~ Hidden Love (it will either float your boat to Candy Heaven and Molten Cheese, lip smacking sweet sour hot or leave you rock cold)

SO TRUE .. Ruination of a wonderful character by the script in the end was a shame!! I feel sorry for the SML .. He was stricken and dumbfounded I bet and it showed through his acting face also Ha ha ha !!

Why isn't he noticed by a GREAT writer - director DUO?
Saw a lot of cute snippets and reels on youtube and Instagram and wanted to watch this but then saw the low rating…
You will enjoy and laugh so much watching the first half .. Bai Lu role as kick Ass Gang Boss is superb .. you will even enjoy many eps of the second half .. Then I'd recommend one of 2 options ~ just lay back and FFD to the end just to know what is endgame ~ drop it and find a fan fic of it or write / imagine one for yourself ;-p
I was so excited and watched the first half of the (pre-palace entry .. well actually even several episodes into palace) drama, laughing, chuckling RELISHING every bit of Bai Lu's role as the kick ass Gang Boss, she is written SO well .. the knitting of the tension so engaging .. the various ways she outwits and keeps being Top Dog in a tough man's world.
And then it starts to unravel .. by the end the drama is shred to a nuisance pile of illogical rubbish; saying that there are plot holes in the second part is a compliment; there is nothing of plot left to even make a hole in it (ROFL).
Overall because - I LAUGHED so much and ENJOYED the Gang Boss in Silver City SO MUCH - thrilled to have discovered a HIGHLY talented ML - Leon Lai - with so much potential who delivers along with Bai Lu
I felt generous enough to donate 1.5 point extra to the 6.0 I was itching to give it .. the end left such a BAAD taste. So it's a 7.5 / 10
Have fun tripping on Bai Lu (and Leon Lai) in Silver City .. and then go glug a gin and tonic with a drama buddy and have a roaring laugh at the absurdity the drama descends to once Changan is reached.
