All I can tell you is that I feel the chemistry between the couple and I loved the flashbacks that have been shown…
😅😁 Only for Love will make you scratch on walls and climb them too in frustration - I am guessing 😂
It's interesting how certain characters in dramas leave us so agitated and mad, that we would love to seize the pad and rewrite the script.
I actually found the premise of the drama (OI) intensely intriguing and the freshness of the dynamic it brought into play...breaking the usual predictable mould.
Plus I am a sucker for women like the FL here strong, stubborn, sharp as razor, goal focused and yet blind to some basic needz of their own, with frailties they desperately cover up with bravado and glibness.
I'd have enjoyed the ML character too (if his acting was more engaging and in step) . A bit dense, intense, not as sharp as the FL, easy to crush but inflexible ultimately and dogged in his fundamental beliefs.
Anyway the execution of this screenplay didn't work out for me 🙈😭😭😭 So I dropped it.
All I can tell you is that I feel the chemistry between the couple and I loved the flashbacks that have been shown…
I just now tortured myself with some 4 eps of My Lethal Man 🫣😱🙈 ONLY because I couldn't get enough of the ML and his looks.. I FFDed a lot.. Now I dropped it and hope to find something else of his. Pretty pathetic drama.. Script and production. Plastic CDrama at its best (minus the drool ML)
All I can tell you is that I feel the chemistry between the couple and I loved the flashbacks that have been shown…
Oh she 💯 feels for him. The hiccups!!! 🤣😂
Her reason for dumping him she's already confided in to her colleague and told him to zip it.
The finer details will evolve I am guessing once the story moves.
I did look eagerly forward to the drama story and plot - it's the execution that left me feeling disconnected.
Best I can explain is by a parallel to a song's parts : lyrics - tune / composition - singer - instruments - mixing and studio work..
The lyrics were VERY attractive and the tune was drawing me in.. But the singer couldn't carry the tune and the instruments were out of sync and not great studio work either.
It's that kind of frustration I felt - gosh this could have been a 9/10 Drama with better execution.
- 22 epis aired - Well personally i didn't like the chemistry as its more like a simp/doormat ML + Cold FL- Kisses…
😝😝 I couldn't unstick my eyes from how riveting CXX visual is - I paused the screen also 🤣😂🤣😂 to relish the perfection.
And there were scenes where he was just en point - but somehow his performance didn't work for me 🙈🙈.. It was so uneven...
Which is why I think he might shine under a talented director who knows how to tune the actors to the role and overall drama setting.
I plan to watch Starry Love once I get off the "intense drama" phase I am in.
It's a promise of hilarity I found in the few eps I tested (it's on hold) .. And he surely fitted better there for me..
I tried out episodes of Falling in Love with Zhang Jing Yi. I am an all out fan of ZJY and was checking out her dramas. That's when I first saw CXX for the first time.
What a thrilling fabby slickly made drama.. But again for some reason CXX didnt work for me 🙈🫣 I have put it on hold..
ZJY (ala Bai Lu) is so good in pulling out a good play from her co stars - but I couldn't see him rising to it.
It's totally my eyes which are missing it course and I feel all the more that "missing out" frustration.
All I can tell you is that I feel the chemistry between the couple and I loved the flashbacks that have been shown…
I was so excited last night when I started watching the show. And today it went south 🫣
It's just my view... And impression..
P.S. for example I went wild about SOKP.. But it's offensive for many 😂🤣😂
I Rewatched Only for Love... It's TOP CLASS Cdrama for me and one of the best FL roles and FL-ML complexity of interaction that I chewed on and relished sooooooo much
Not to mention just what PHENOMENAL actors they both are and their chemistry is off the charts. Brilliant direction and editing and OST makes it so delectable.
I think Our Interpreter couldn't be brought to life because of the lack of talent on all fronts - it too seemed to possess that rare complex quality of nuanced FL-ML transactions that dances around balancing power of love and love of freedom and power of goals and ambitions in one's life. Who values what and how they value it.
All I can tell you is that I feel the chemistry between the couple and I loved the flashbacks that have been shown…
The script had very high potential I felt for the 8 eps I watched.
I couldn't stay with the poor execution of the drama in almost all departments - except for the first 2-3 eps at best..it started showing it's poor quality in directing - editing - acting.. And even scripting the "business" aspect of the drama.. Lip service was done to it, without making a solidly well researched part of the story.
Like L&P was SO REAL LIFE in its presentation of the Programming industry - the Uni and IT industry links - the problems facing newcomers - the bubble of value creation or wealth creation.. So many angles are researched and weaved into the personal tales of the character's private lives.
None of that authenticity was present for me...I used the word Bloodless to best express my feel of it.
I used to use the word plastic for CDrama once upon a time when I hadn't begun watching them..
This show exemplifies for me when a show with potential turns out to look plastic as you keep watching it - uh until it doesn't hold your attention any more
it is 36 episodes so no, it has not wrapped, although some impatient ones would already see it as over. If all…
I loved the premise of the character Victoria had to play and she pulls it off brilliantly BUT only her professional and office face.
She falters when she has to show the audience her "mooning for ML for 8 years face or her insecure with grandpa face.
Either she is truly wooden in that department or just unlucky to get a director who didn't know how to handle a powerful actress (I feel she has loads of potential)
The grandpa role was so well defined and enacted.. Probably the authentic heart of the drama.
- 22 epis aired - Well personally i didn't like the chemistry as its more like a simp/doormat ML + Cold FL- Kisses…
I liked your to the point response which addressed the "quality" of the show rather than get swept away by "how the story should have been scripted and what the characters should have done" 😵💫😷🙄
Personally a drama will fail for me straight away if it lacks an elegance in directorial - editorial - production departments. It will fail irredeemably if on top of that the acting talent of the leads and cast can't raise the poor script and direction.
This drama while it started with such an exciting bang, floundered fast enough, failed on so many aspects while maintaining it's superficial plastic pretty feel with ML with great visual (low skill) and FL with promising skill but badly directed.. Characters that raised so much promise but fell flat from laggardly editing and directing..
It was going off tune and losing beats so heavily that I couldn't sustain beyond Ep 8.
The language learning AI and human translator back and forth was interesting to follow but lacked "honesty".. Felt flaky.
Unlike Lighter and Princess dealing with Programming and App making industry etc.. The business part of the story in L&P was brilliantly and realistically woven into it.
So frustrating watching FL playing mood with ML, and the way the director ship TX and CY (WOW) make thing worse.…
😅 Looks like you and I simultaneously dropped this show. I stopped at Ep 8
Plodding story and plot - ML with great visual but such a self conscious actor, low skill IMO.. Actors act not just with face but with body and with other actors and their situation. He lacks that interaction I felt.
FL is a better actress but lacks confidence in scenes where she has to show "emotion other than her office face" -I suspect in her case it's more directorial lack than acting lack.
The whole pace and feel is so wooden and staccato so lacking in humour and feelz.
Bloodless would be an apt description for the entire drama I thought.
That scene in "Doom At Your Service" where she reveals that she has cancer and is going to die? The emotion she…
LOL
I was EXACTLY the same mode when I started watching SWDB .. Almost dropped it .. and then I binged; had such an enjoyable roller coaster ride with the entire story and acting and OST .. one of my TOP romcoms on Kdrama.
Both Choi Woo Shik and PBY are TOP notch actors!!I first saw CWS in "The Package" (support role) and he flew!!Here's…
Agree with you on PBY .. she can pull off "cute" without being cheesy or cringey ;-p I find so many Kdrama and CDrama FLs unable to find that sweet spot of being adorable and cute without being irritating to the point of wishing to DROP the drama itself
Both Choi Woo Shik and PBY are TOP notch actors!!I first saw CWS in "The Package" (support role) and he flew!!Here's…
Yes Ho Goo's Love.
I went and DUG out that gem too.
He does roles like that SO well.
The introvert - insecure - faltering - making mistakes and growing roles with a HIGH sense of right and wrong .. He is a TOP class actor in the Kdrama Stable
You will REALLY enjoy Fireworks of My Heart - Yang Yang is super delicious .. and I found it to be a superior…
That's OK.
We always have one of those dramas where after midpoint the interest that kept us glued slacks off and makes us FFD chunks just to know what happens in the end ;-D
I've had my fair share of that .. usually it makes me feel deeply cheated .. cause I spent SO MUCH time already LOL
PBY stole my heart in the movie "A Werewolf Boy" (cried my eyes out in the final scenes)
And laughed my way through "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" .. her pairing with Park Hyung Sik was all sparks and cute and just one of the BEST comedies (rom-com) on Kdrama IMO.
I hear you pal.
Goodness his hotness factor made me dial down the room temperature 😂🤣😂
Unbearable FL.
FULL RAG DOLL!!
I developed tunnel vision with ML at the end of it while testing out this drama for several eps
Only for Love will make you scratch on walls and climb them too in frustration - I am guessing 😂

What is the chemistry like?
Lip tap or propah kisses?
Strong FL or does cheesy - cringey cute or airhead?
It will decide if I watch or not - story sounds interesting..but if above is not met..won't bother.
I was EXACTLY the same mode when I started watching SWDB .. Almost dropped it .. and then I binged; had such an enjoyable roller coaster ride with the entire story and acting and OST .. one of my TOP romcoms on Kdrama.
I came to it from another commenter's (our taste has a reasonable match) rating ..
I have a reasonable match with you also ;-p
I think I'll test the waters and see :-D
---------------------------------------------------------------------
OOOOOOOOPSSSS
(I missed seeing that I had forgotten this crap shoot show completely.
I HAD dropped it - ROFL
Hilarious that I wanted to 'test the waters'

L&P is my 10/10 too
and match with Love is Sweet / Weight Lifting Fairy.
I am going to check out your listed faves on C-Drama on your profile page.
P.S. You aren't into Chinese Xanxia / Wuxia / Period Dramas >>
You havent seen a Bai Lu Drama?
