never ever regret watching this drama. Because this drama doesn't have any boring ep. Every ep is so interesting…
Did you watch TTEOTM? How does it compare? lemme know .. am thinking of watching this to pull me out of the vortex left by LYX and Bai Lu.
Anyway started it. On Ep 3. I guess this could be labeled Xanxia Romcom - I laughed aloud a lot. Expectation is set at loads of "silly fun" - light watch and time pass. Not intense - angsty - dramatic or epic ;-p
Have put on hold for a day when I am looking for relaxed time pass
At least in terms of the Lead Actors. As well as production value and CGI.
I am FRESH from watching TTEOTM ;-p So may not be a good time to start another Xanxia .. it might pale in comparison LOL
I just hit 'pause' on Love and Redemption (FL was typical 'round eyed, pouty lipped, 'oh my god am so sweet and innocent' whereas Bai Lu was off the charts .. you could see the intelligence sparkling behind her eyes as she takes charge; and ML was also teen boyish and bland .. cant hold a candle to the super talented, intense, complex role essayed by LYX)) show seemed so pink and cotton candy; This however feels 'heavier and more solid' ..
Will return to comment again.
TTEOTM fans who also watched SN and L&R.. please comment and let me know if I am right in my assessment? Or I need to keep L&R for a more patient watch for a few more eps .. in the hopes that it looks less like a tween squee drama and more solid adult and complex. And should I continue SN .. if my prediction is spot on .. that it's more solid than L&R
For anyone procrastinating on whether or not to start this, let me just give my opinion.. keeping it short here…
Hmmm Interesting!!
Have you watched TTEOTM?
Where would you rank your feelz at the end of TTEOTM with this show.
Yes you wouldn't be wrong if you guessed that TTEOTM pulled me into a vortex .. and left me wondering if anything else would be as great a dopamine boost as that ;-p
🤣😂OMG. So true.I totally FFD their segments. It's the worst and weakest part of the show. They could have…
Isn't it?
It's one of those RARE times where the SML evoked such a strong "heart-break" feel at the end of the show and one ALMOST wishes that a second season takes up "what happens next" for Du Lei ;-p
The STRONGEST heart-break feel I got watching an SML role was Kim Woo Bin in HEIRS .. GOSH !! I was almost ready to watch him "get the girl" if it wasn't for Min Ho's equally magnetic role.
Would a second season take up Kim Woo Bin's character some day? He's also MUCH older now in real life ;-p and might REALLY REALLY suit the role of "and many years later he meets a gal who is his ideal sparring partner"
Wanted to post in case anyone isn't sure whether to continue after watching the 1st episode. I also did not enjoy…
Hmmm - yeah when it launched I remember watching first episode and though it looked interesting wasn't able to appreciate or get into it.
Just recently as part of my foray into C-Drama I watched - Ever Night and - Who Rules the World - Rise of the Phoenixes .. all Wuxia / Xanxia genres I learnt with its specific terminology and tropes ..
and THEN I watched TTEOTM (Till the End of the Moon) . Hypnotised by the layers and complexity of the drama's plot, setting, camerawork, action sequences, CGI editing and SUPERLATIVE acting!!
That got me curious to check out Alchemy of Souls ONCE again.
So this thread definitely had upped the intrigue factor for me now ;-p
I'll give it a second try and sit through at least 4 eps ;p

I was considering this after watching TTEOTM.
Have you watched that?
I went to check your page .. but you havens loaded any WATCHLIST on MDL
Please don't give away spoilers ;-p
I noticed you rated that also a 10.
I'm still in the TTEOTM vortex .. LOVED it so much .. cant imagine anything else that might give me a similar dopamine hit ;-p

Your review sounds discerning ..
Now after reading the RAVE and your dispassionate critique I am definitely going to check. it out for myself :-)
Should I watch?
What worked if you did watch?

Is this show already out??
How come it already has an MDL rating?
Anyway fresh off from rewatch of TTEOM .. and a long ongoing affair with L&P (Lighter and Princess) .. I am all AHOY for this pairing.
