LOL thanks I SO AGREE .. I intently watched 2 episodes and then it started RAINING characters!! Out of the sky all whole bunch came in .. and the flip off to this Dance troupe .. LIKE HELLO!!!

I chunk forwarded SOOO much and decided to return to what was FAR more enjoyable and sparkly .. Joy of Life ;-p

Fireworks of my Heart had a STELLAR ensemble cast .. each story line was gripping .. even the DOG was engaging and amusing and had his storyline ;-p

Yes it had Melo .. BUT a solid framework of Fire Rescue episodes in all its varied situations PLUS personal life of more than half a dozen firefighters ... and YANG YANG in one of his finest roles as dark tempered captain with quite a backstory!!

THE BROMANCE in it was to die for ..

Hi Twinty, you alerted me to the show having started.
I got so excited. I was like YAY a drama with Zhang Jing Yi!!!

But this is way too draggy and listless and dull for me.
No one interested me :-(

I guess after 2 FANTASTIC dramatic shows (Lighter and Princess AND The Youth Memories) I dont want to trudge the doldrums (especially because it's not even throwing any crumbs of solid story - plot or even character buildup).

PLUS I have Fireworks of my Heart FRESH on my mind (what a sizzle fast moving drama with SO much happening .. funny moving tragic heart thumping.. It's a rewatch waiting for me to to jump back into ..

- Am going back to Joy of Life .. had just started and it's one heck of a 'cracktastic' dialogue - plot - story - acting show . It surprised me .. didn't expect another Wuxia show to be as good (better?) than Ever Night.

She is BRILLIANT.
My MAIN reason to keep this show in the to PLAN to watch List.

I had really wanted to watch this show of hers.
Am 4 episodes in and wondering where is this drama headed .. it's meandering ALL over the grasslands and meadows and mountains and I havent been able to grab onto ANY excitement or hook to pull me forward .. I chunk forwarded ..

I watched Fireworks of My Heart and it HOOKED me instantly!!
Passion was flying left right and centre .. and dramatic elements were already planted .. and one is already wondering WHAT happened to Yang Yang ?? Who is this crazy lady stalking him? And the fantastic Rescue scenes and bromance ..

How pallid this show feels.
Zhang Jing Yi .. is so under-utilised .. and gimme a break .. how artificial is it to be rescued twice from fire .. and just what is the reason to make these two placed so far aspart in their profession. And what is the reason to plant ALL these random characters into the show ..

I have a terrible feeling that we are being set up on a wild goose chase an disappointment.

GOODNESS .. Not after Lighter and Princess!!! She is still Zhu Yun in my head!!!
One second I was sipping cold sparkling water .. and now I am drinking warm leftover sparkling water that has lost ALL its fizz and tastes worse than tap water!

I am sure there will be many like me who echo these thoughts.

This show was challenging because it managed to make the viewer feel empathy for ALL the characters.
It showed the complex pathways our heart navigates in relationships ..

I loved that the show managed to balance comedy with serious and Slice of Life with Magical ..

It was rich and worthy of many watches just to get to see the character arcs better .

I LOVED the OST too

I LOVED this show to death .. so sensitively portrayed .. terrific in terms of balancing the serious with the comic .. the slice of life with the 'magical'.

BUT my BIGGEST REWATCH EVER in the 3 year history of Kdrama was Lighter and Princess.

I LOVED ALL 3.
Although Liberation Notes is on hold - its dark and I need to be in a sunny place to be able to sink into it's melancholic heart

She is feeling like a 'slut' with the way he is treating her emotions and declarations and confessions .. someone who is pursuing a man who has broken up a deep relationship and harmed her ex is now madly in love with him .. she is feeling eff-ed and wants him to see how "slutty" his refusal to acknowledge her is making her feel.

All he had to do (as his friend suggested) is hug her and tell her he loves her desperately too (which he eventually comes to realize and SAY ALOUD .. in the hospital scene - that he'd 'break up her marriage AGAIN and be condemned if it would lead her into his arms'

Some of us romantics "get that" feeling he is feeling and get that "shitty feeling" she is feeling when she abuses herself and shows up like a 'slut'

I'll take a chance and say - give it a go .. at least 4 episodes .. and then decide.

The show had me at HELLO .. it had one of the BEST 'media-res' beginnings I have seen - what a hook to pull you into the show :-P

I followed her after falling in love with her character in Dr Romantic.
She is one of my TOP fave KDrama actresses.

And I am 100% in sync with you about how much I LOVED the character she portrayed .. quirky - forthright - hilarious - unafraid - give it all once she has made up her mind.

Her Mom had me rofling. She and her mom had me Rofl-ing

GOSH!! I thought the same way.
It was such a complex relationship .. it dared to explore the grey zones of it .. and how REAL it felt inspite of the dramatic 'otherworldly' stuff in it ..

A brilliant take on the 'destiny' angle ..

One of the STEAMIEST KISS scenes in Kdrama - right up there with the one in "Jealousy Incarnate" and "Me Also Flower" ..

LOL .. sister soul .. I LOVED it and watched it thrice already ;-p
