It's interesting how certain characters in dramas leave us so agitated and mad, that we would love to seize the pad and rewrite the script.
I actually found the premise of the drama (OI) intensely intriguing and the freshness of the dynamic it brought into play...breaking the usual predictable mould.
Plus I am a sucker for women like the FL here strong, stubborn, sharp as razor, goal focused and yet blind to some basic needz of their own, with frailties they desperately cover up with bravado and glibness.
I'd have enjoyed the ML character too (if his acting was more engaging and in step) . A bit dense, intense, not as sharp as the FL, easy to crush but inflexible ultimately and dogged in his fundamental beliefs.
Anyway the execution of this screenplay didn't work out for me 🙈😭😭😭 So I dropped it.

I just now tortured myself with some 4 eps of My Lethal Man 🫣😱🙈 ONLY because I couldn't get enough of the ML and his looks.. I FFDed a lot.. Now I dropped it and hope to find something else of his. Pretty pathetic drama.. Script and production. Plastic CDrama at its best (minus the drool ML)

The finer details will evolve I am guessing once the story moves.
I did look eagerly forward to the drama story and plot - it's the execution that left me feeling disconnected.
Best I can explain is by a parallel to a song's parts : lyrics - tune / composition - singer - instruments - mixing and studio work..
The lyrics were VERY attractive and the tune was drawing me in.. But the singer couldn't carry the tune and the instruments were out of sync and not great studio work either.
It's that kind of frustration I felt - gosh this could have been a 9/10 Drama with better execution.

😝😝 I couldn't unstick my eyes from how riveting CXX visual is - I paused the screen also 🤣😂🤣😂 to relish the perfection.
And there were scenes where he was just en point - but somehow his performance didn't work for me 🙈🙈.. It was so uneven...
Which is why I think he might shine under a talented director who knows how to tune the actors to the role and overall drama setting.
I plan to watch Starry Love once I get off the "intense drama" phase I am in.
It's a promise of hilarity I found in the few eps I tested (it's on hold) .. And he surely fitted better there for me..
I tried out episodes of Falling in Love with Zhang Jing Yi. I am an all out fan of ZJY and was checking out her dramas. That's when I first saw CXX for the first time.
What a thrilling fabby slickly made drama.. But again for some reason CXX didnt work for me 🙈🫣 I have put it on hold..
ZJY (ala Bai Lu) is so good in pulling out a good play from her co stars - but I couldn't see him rising to it.
It's totally my eyes which are missing it course and I feel all the more that "missing out" frustration.

I Rewatched Only for Love... It's TOP CLASS Cdrama for me and one of the best FL roles and FL-ML complexity of interaction that I chewed on and relished sooooooo much
Not to mention just what PHENOMENAL actors they both are and their chemistry is off the charts. Brilliant direction and editing and OST makes it so delectable.
I think Our Interpreter couldn't be brought to life because of the lack of talent on all fronts - it too seemed to possess that rare complex quality of nuanced FL-ML transactions that dances around balancing power of love and love of freedom and power of goals and ambitions in one's life. Who values what and how they value it.

I developed tunnel vision following him through almost 12-13 eps (FFD mode of course) and needed to turn down our room temperature.
The camera knew how to blow up his oomph factor...
And the FL was as rag doll as the worst actress can get.
This was classic plastic CDrama which turns people off.. Except I couldn't get enough of the ML visuals
