ASMR .. if ever a drama was made for relaxing ONLY .. and putting you to sleep .. Have to give it to the team for pulled one off ..
It's like muzak (elevator music) ~ won't make your pulse speed up, worry you, plunge you, or even make your brain go into a tizzy. But it's not unpleasant .. just keep it running in the background as you go about doing other things .. you won't miss much or be bothered about missing either, if you pick and choose from any part of the show you soak in some village life ..
But it will be unfair if I don't mention that beginning was dramatic and had SO much pace and movement and going somewhere. The loss of friend and those scenes capturing grief (though too drawn out) were palpable and brilliant. The moving out to the country promised adventure .. and then it becomes a travel mag ;-p
I stuck around because the LEADS are too good looking to turn away from :-D AND they are talented actors to boot .. BUT no chemistry really .. Li Xian tries so hard .. What a different role from GGS (Go Go Squid).
None of the characters make us worry about them ..
My fingers got sore from FFD ing.
SO MANY people compared it to "Hometown Cha Cha Cha" ~ THANK GAWD I didn't bother watching that either after an episode (when it had released). I am not a fan of the ML in that .. he has no sizzle factor.
BTW it's NOT the SLOW pace that made me YAWN!! It's basically quite FLAT.
Compare a SLOW PACED RURAL setting show like "I'll Come when the Weather is Good". That's great DRAMA IMO. Not a travel brochure ;-p
It won't. I dropped it at 30th episode, but now after a couple of weeks I'm coming back to finish it. It is a…

Honestly I think this drama is criminally underrated. Sure it has problematic aspects but that it part of why…
Don't worry .. I LOVED it so MUCH!!
It had a GENUINE LOVE TRIANGLE ... Not a silly pasted on one just for the heck of it. There is genuine two way pull for FL .. She needs to make up her mind ..
It could be that many viewers also get into a tussle about who to side with - and it's a heartache if their side loses the lady ;-p
The 'LOVE' is also complicated and not an easy romance story .. the characters have all kinds of messy feelings that need to be sorted through.
I guess that's why I LOVED it.
And of course I LOVE such triangular tales ;-p
I have had MY share of heartache in EXTREMELY WELL MADE Love Triangle Dramas.
~ What Happened in Bali (phew!! such complicated emotions and layered difficult characters) ~ Coffee House (2010) that blew up in my face and I hated that it did :-D ~ Age of Innocence (2002) Also blew up in my face .. goodness the complexity of that .. am yet to swallow it ~ Love Alarm (Yikes!! that also gave me tummy cramps)
I really do miss this kind of well written Rom-coms. i feel like nowadays producers don't give a sh**t about scripts…
Seriously!! KTL was such a fluffy show - I flipped through it like I would a vacuous glossy mag .. just to look at otherwise skilled and good looking actors.
NOT a fan of Yoona AT ALL. But here she put out a little less aegyo and seemed to have SOME spine.

AND who can forget the CLASSIC Reply 1988
It's NOT something I'd like to be told before I watched the show.
NOT a fan of Yoona AT ALL. But here she put out a little less aegyo and seemed to have SOME spine.
Her K2 act was a total turnoff for me.
I LOVED Jealousy Incarnate. Rewatched it thrice.
