I “live rate” a drama as I watch 😜

Mine started with a 9 and steadily dropped until it was scraping 4-5

What the heck was it with the “cringe tropes”

The characters were “schematic” unlike the characters in some of the best period dramas

I am saving this much touted top Drama (NIF) for a long binge- been 2-3 years though 🤭

I think hearing that it doesn’t involve any “strong” female role and a solid “relationship” thread in it may be a reason.

I ploughed through fantastic period set drama (both slice of life and wuxia tinged) which had that as a strong element even though it wasn’t the main focus at times.

But currently running out of solid dramas with meaty explorations of the human condition under an expert production team - I’m eyeing it for a good “dinner” (hope it proves to be Michelin level)

Several times I attempted Untamed : just couldn’t get into it

The style didn’t hit the spot even after the full Ep

Try : Royal Nirvana : You will be thoroughly shaken intellectually and emotionally
Also try : Joy of Peaceful Serenade

And : Joy of Life (wuxia but I like to club it with these)

I recall dropping it - just too much pumped for her size to carry the weight of the role : cartoon ish - dropped fast

What an engrossing period Drama : hats off to FL, she is choosing such fantastic scripts and productions.

I am on episode 7 and want to whack someone very strongly, stopped feeling sorry for him couple of episodes back.

Those who are watching this avidly, probably know who I am talking about here

I think I will be too.

I have pretty much zero issues about open endings in fact some of the BEST dramas do give the audience the space and freedom to imagine beyond the drama ..

BUT what I dislike is being left in the lurch in the name of an open ending .. when very little foreshadowing is deftly woven into the telling of it .. and the protagonist behave completely OOC (out of character from how they have been built up). That is not only annoying but also damages the beauty of it.

Actually often you can see the fraying of a drama well before that sort of "fake open ending" is done

A TOTALLY different world and a POLAR opposite lead character ..
Web Novel was the world of Lady Liberty, big screen Cinema is the world of WAATH ..

Its dropping sooo slow and tortuous that I decided to hop off and return when all all loaded ..

ABSOLUTELY beautiful too - magical, lyrical, poetic !!

Is a 10/10 for me too .. right from the beginning episode I have been giving it a 10/10 in all departments .. OST is amazing

The Opening Credit sequence itself is SO STYLISH.
