LOL .. that is a creative way to ward off FRUSTATION bees and annoying ants that happened to the drama after SUCH a MATURE and EXOTIC start

I JUST wish Gong wasn't turned into full ON comic relief by the end when he had started SO SO strong ..
He was in my mind the character most suited to be with the Xiao Xi

I thought Gong and she were better suited .. and a more probable and interesting as a pair .. In fact Bei's entry should have been the trigger that should have made them realize how much they GOT each other

I agree with a few of the things you comment on ..
For eg.
~ Gong, he was reduced to mere comic relief and a propeller to Xiao Xi and Bei's ship.
~ Fave arc by the end of it turned out to be Yu and Xiu
(I would not say fave though .. I prefer saying the most "real" feel progression, believable conclusion amongst all the couples in it.
~ But parents, I mean, I really liked how Gong had his own views about marriages and stuck to it, but then the writer or director had to get preachy and pull the "believing marriage is beautiful and worth it" card on him through his parents. Ugh. Give me a break. The moment he got swayed by his mom's preposterous answer about sticking by his dad's side, it honestly ruined part of his character. I'm fine with him deciding to come clean about his feelings to Xiao Xi in the end, but the way he got to that point was just so frustrating and didn't make sense at all.

Check out MDL credit list for it : NO SCREEN WRITER is listed .. DId the director just make up the plot as he went along ,sussing how the comments and reactions were piling up ?
When it went SOUTH .. he twisted back and thought turning it into a regular "HE" drama would redeem it and bring up the ratings.

I gave it a 5/10 .. after giving it's first 17 eps a 10/10
The final arc totally plunged the drama into scrap heap

The last scene where Gong writes the scene for the movie - I am going allow myself to think that the scriptwriters HAD to do this messed up "bells bows ribbons confetti and whistles" ending of EVERY character getting their "happy ending" because CDrama JUST CANNOT handle "reality"

What a goddamed TEASE and waste of the first 17 eps !!!

I had actually thought this would be a slice of life / reality drama which would analyse the breakdown of relationships (Dorkman and MFL) AND the impossibility of some relationships to even start and form (smart creative intelligent photographer FL and daft, violent tendency office boy).
Then turning Gong into a clown and playboy?? At the end?? REALLY?? He came across as anything but in the initial phase, and what was that LOOOOONG section with his parents?? To show sample of his parent's relationship .. so patchy .. just as patchy as the MFL's father's story ..
Making Fashion designer (?) woman do a romp around the tree with her hidden unicorn pendant!! Yeah?!

THIS IS SUCH A TERRIBLE TERRIBLE let down after it set up a STRONG slice of life look at real feel couple-dom / relationships .. ENDING as a YAY YAY HAPPY JINGLE BELLS MORALITY TALE .. PREACHY and glossy.

Such a schizo drama .. am so mad now at having invested so many early hours into it!!

I got as badly cheated as some of those women in the drama.

The script is trying its level best to give him a reason to cling to FL …
You’d expect him to run a mile and keep all his relationships clean (no messy backstory of gf - definitely not this sort of headless - naive - mentally low self reflecting person ) but no .. he is dragging it out!!!
OK to be fair the script is dragging it out and creating some monsense forced pretext for them to patch up.

Gimme a break.

I can’t drop this drama - you how one gets a devilish itch - unstoppable although it’s so annoying .. you need to finish itching until it “breaks skin” ..

I want to see for myself the ridiculous end this is. Building up to .

And what is this elongated side story of Gong and parents ??
How is it relevant to the main story!!

He is such an ass to try to “borrow her shoulder” to weep on : man you have got a “serious love bug” for her and using every opportunity to be close to her ..
And she !!! Has no qualms that she’s giving him hope and - I cannot buy that she is SO DUMB as to not keep her distance from him - keep it formal!!

Yeah some women do enjoy being there for men!!
Where are her female besties?
One offloads emotional stuff on female besties - the concept of male emotional besties is complete delusional !!!
Yes it they are gay or “ugly and unattractive sexually” (sorry for using that word - no one is truly ugly) it’s possible!!! They would have nil chance - but LOOK AT THIS GORGEOUS HUNK GONG.. with his full compassionate side, who can truly see her for who she is and has no illusions about her and is happy to have her in his life .. I can’t buy that one day she would not swerve .. he GETS HER .. In a deeper way thst ML dork never will .. he’s as straight as a smooth steel rod - he’ll NEVER GET HER!!!

That would be IN CHARACTER - their’s is a failed relationship at the get go!!!
FL is looking at security and loyalty and Dorkman is looking at “how different she is - open minded and of course sexy as hell who has blinded him with her seductress ways”.

There is poetry in the way Gong talks about FL and Dorkman sees her as a “mother figure” who is devoted to him - he wants to dearly believe it:
His own mom was independent minded enough to walk out of a failed marriage- so she was free spirited too …
Sometimes people are attracted to prototypes that are shadows of their own parents - and they hope they are better versions of them- more desirable versions.

Which is one way to look at Dorkman’s thing for FL.

But scriptwriters are arching in the improbable direction that they end up as the model happy
couple who worked past their foibles.

There is too much damage in them and in there duplicitous relationship for this to look as a plausible ending at all!!

The musician being kicked in g the shin by the Luan is TOTALLY enpoint!!!
Believable - he is ONE WEAK “teen” still.
He has little self awareness and has his eyes in his navel only!!
Deserves the ditch from both - has a LOT OF adulting left to do - mayve when he is 40 even then i think he cpild tackle only a gf who os 10-15 years younger.

Phew - breathing light seeing that the musician is divorced and hopefully gets together with his “soulmate “
Yup that feels like a good connect : two 2 free spirits who compliment and get each other.
He was such a kid when he developed his puppy crush and mistook it for “true love” and she lapped it up - felt good to have a puppy following her and looking up at her.
Not a relationship of equal feelz

OK so now Dorkman sees that his best friend has his GF’s pic on his terminal.
Is there any doubt that he truly fell in love - and is holding back and hiding his feelings .

The FL KNOWS that he is still not over her AND YET she “plays” with him and pretends (or is so bloody kiddish and immature) that he’s not into her!!!

Like REALLY!!??
Which man would go as far as taking time off EACH AND EVERYTIME she calls him to hangout with her with no time limit - AND NOT TELL HIS BESTIE THAT he’s spending time with his GF ALONE!!!

The script will turn to ashes if Dorkman doesn’t walk away!!
And if WEEPING woman doesn’t get her full and proper comeuppance!!!

Yay yay Guan give it to that Stupid Woman who thinks she is this “wonderful “ person saving women from cheaters!!!

Just how effing delusional is she to think she is doing social service.
Guan is ABSOLUTELY right in pinning her down.

FL is addicted to playing the role of Femme Fatal who can destroy men by getting them to chase her ..
And being beautiful to look at, having her “seductress” moves down to the T, her acting skills at par and long term grooming of the man who is in a steady settled relationship …she can topple anyone ..
Pretty much.

She wouldn’t be able to do that to a SINGLE MAN who is newly in deep love when hormones blinded to all and every other woman in the world!!

She can ONLY succeed with men in long term relationships, especially married men whose marriages have drifted somewhat .. or men who aren’t yet in a fully committed relationship even if they maybe dating.

Secondly how the “heck” can you BEAR being with another man (even acting) when your heart is flooded with dopamine for your guy!

Dork ML is a great catch!!
Because he won’t ever cheat!!
One of those rare devoted ones!!!
The ones who have kids and are devoted fathers and family men who look down on women who make those moves on them - however beautiful .. they’d be totally repelled by those types!!!

The way women are - when sexy handsome men flirt and make moves .. it’s so disgusting that you of avoid them like the plague!!
You’d recognise the moves and run!!!

So once again ..
If the drama FORCES the script to get them to patch up again .. “phae! Phae!”

I resumed watching this : had to pause because was waiting for it to wrap

On Ep 22 : dreading that this may end up going into “all hunky dory - bells and whistles - I love you so I’ll trust you” - and they patch up”

It would be so bloody unrealistic !! Ridiculous!!

Already the FL is getting on my nerves with her immature, unwise, greedy for validation needs, that she is so hip and free spirited as to have platonic friendships where she meets the men one on one and has teasing, playful interactions ..

How does that bode well for a “new” serious relationship that is moving towards marriage?

It’ll be absolutely unrealistic if the relationship does not end and each goes their own way.

She has lied during the relationship !!

And that dork ML, like how much of an idiot clingy guy are you to be ok with this level of “play” - especially when you self1righteously walked out of the other relationship ..

Anyway I am so irked that had to vent.

The 7.2 drama rating looks quite apt!!
