I agree with a few of the things you comment on .. For eg. ~ Gong, he was reduced to mere comic relief and a propeller to Xiao Xi and Bei's ship. ~ Fave arc by the end of it turned out to be Yu and Xiu (I would not say fave though .. I prefer saying the most "real" feel progression, believable conclusion amongst all the couples in it. ~ But parents, I mean, I really liked how Gong had his own views about marriages and stuck to it, but then the writer or director had to get preachy and pull the "believing marriage is beautiful and worth it" card on him through his parents. Ugh. Give me a break. The moment he got swayed by his mom's preposterous answer about sticking by his dad's side, it honestly ruined part of his character. I'm fine with him deciding to come clean about his feelings to Xiao Xi in the end, but the way he got to that point was just so frustrating and didn't make sense at all.

LOL ... Venting again .. Check out MDL credit list for it : NO SCREEN WRITER is listed .. DId the director just make up the plot as he went along ,sussing how the comments and reactions were piling up ? When it went SOUTH .. he twisted back and thought turning it into a regular "HE" drama would redeem it and bring up the ratings.
I gave it a 5/10 .. after giving it's first 17 eps a 10/10 The final arc totally plunged the drama into scrap heap
