It hollows you out.

The pain and the pleasure is so deeply entwined in that drama for me that I return to it for seconds .. people who go for deep tissue massage (Schiatsu?) report and describe what that feeling is.

The body and mind floats calmly peacefully deliriously after the intense pressure and wringing pain

This director has done another drama, which didn’t find much traction. I think given how the rating is on MDL, it revolves around racing cars, also had a fabulous actress

I was desperate to find a community that gave it a >8 at the very least

Most people watched it so long ago .. and no one goes looking for it either .. that was a diamond of a story acting music directing (and period research backed by stupendous production design and budget)

The attention to similar period detail in this speaks to me of a similar seriousness towards aesthetics and authenticity.
