Lapping up each and every episode - even at its slow languorous pace the tension is taught, the beauty of the frame, lighting, camera is so impossible to look away from!!!

Seven Tan is slaying this role!!! Controlled and low key - kudos to the director for having been able to control her energy and talent .. and Liu Xue Yi, hats off he is being well tuned and played by the director too.
The have found their right stage.

And what to say about the delirious greyness of the characters, the details of the era in costume / rituals / production design 🤌🏽

The Double I loved.
I didn’t focus on the actual age much .. I could mentally adjust because at 33 she could pass off as a 20 y.o. Or I was ok imagining her even as a 25 y.o,
Especially because WXY can leap 10 years plus in his demeanour ..,

Unlike in this .. this 40 y.o. Actress could not carry off a 30 or so y.o. Role (she’s a window for 15 years - so roughly Joseon woman would be that age) because she JUST LOOKED 45 🙈
The make up and lighting and camera could do nothing!!! I wish it had!!!
And then the double whammy the 29 y.o. Lead who is roughly 25 in the role (?) had a baby face more suited to playing an 18-19 y.o

Of course it is how it landed for me .. WXY - Dylan Wang - Wu Lei etc being so young (23-25 in real) can look act as 30 or so .. but this actor 😝😝

Looks like he got duped into this role.

They could cast her easily as his sister in a drama
