I've left like a dozen plus comments on this Drama 🤣🤣🤣🤣On all it's 4 parts as listed on MDL, separately,…
I loved EMPRESS KI though. Watched all 52 eps of 1 hour each 😉😝
TWICE.
AND BAWLED MY EYES OUT BOTH TIMES.
Thats a proper saeguk - not fantasy.. But RIVETINGLY plotted with story and absolutely gripping unforgettable characters and super talented array of actors who delivered with punch! 😍😍😍

🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈
Unfortunately it didn't grip me.
I noticed that a LOT of AC high raters ALSO loved AOS.. It's FL actress doesn't cut it for me (didn't at all in this drama at least) nor could I get behind the the FL role as written (and directed).
I swear I had REALLY wanted to love the drama...
Ironically - the actress in the first scene caught me by the eyeballs..
I also thought the ML was a compelling casting with talent.
How can someone not like this masterpiece but I would have been more happy if it was ended but I know it is that…

The last time I recall getting THIS caught in a drama - CDrama - I couldn't get past for several weeks and move on was LIGHTER AND PRINCESS. I have rewatched that some 4 times (easier to do since the eps are 40 min) vis a vis 18+12 eps of ~ 1.5 hours each
But I could rewatch AC all over AGAIN after a time lapse of a couple of months 😝
It's only on my 2nd watch that ALL the characters and story came alive in its FULL SPECTACULAR dimension.
BUT yes one would need to be a hard core lover of "historical - political" movements that have defined civilization fitted into a fantasy genre that melds also religious - mythological movements in history plus exploring "heroes / fallen idols"
One would also need to enjoy complex character casts in multiple settings and regions and with various ideological settings and internal conflicts and demons..
😂😂😂😂😂😂
That's a LOT. Sustaining interest would require an addict level of interest in such schema.
It's NOT GOT (don't know if you followed that) although roughly belongs in the genre.
GOT "may" have become a classic IMO had it continued in the mold of "deep" exploration as it did in its first 4 or so episodes. Terrible decline to popular "demand" - I suspect - made it drop to "cheap" thrills from Ep 5 - 8.

The second female is just as toxic as the first female lead. Both are narcissistic and egotistical females. Instead…
I haven't moved too much into the Drama (9 eps I think - following only of VIKI) with SO little time give to the SFL story .. have only seen dribbles of her and SML .. with hardly any scope of solid development yet.
MILD SPOILER-Y
Until Ep 9 I did not see her being "toxic" nor has their relationship even 'begun'.
He till now has come across as being able to hold his 'position' and is 'neutral' maintaining the 'student-teacher' level of engagement. While, she is doing her 'class bunking' - 'short-cutting' her way towards her goals and also looks at 'using' the 'teacher' to her advantage (as do ALL students who are ambitious) NOT by flaunting either an 'aegyo act' nor a 'feigned dumb eye stares' nor deploying any 'female charms' .. in fact quiet the opposite .. she is 'hard working and in fact quite un-bothered if she is stinky or badly dressed. She is even trying to 'bribe' her way into his good books (for a pass grade or better grade).
END OF SPOILER-Y
I know this drama has loaded a lot many more eps elsewhere but am not feeling THAT INTENSE a pull to go check it out at those other sites .. at the moment its just a side thing I'm checking out inbetween rewatching Arthdal Chronicles with friend ;-p
And how frustrating that they have SO LITTLE screen time devoted to them. I mean SERIOUSLY .. could we have had a stronger arc for them .. parallel .. AM tired and bored and annoyed by the leads arc (not because of the actors .. but the roles written for them)
welcome
I noticed you have Ji Chang Wook listed on your faves ;-D
If you are / were a Wookie 'fan' well you CANNOT MISS this one.
It has one of those EPIC kiss scenes - that goes down in the Kdrama Hall of Kiss FAME
LOL
Don't go looking for it on YouTube .. will SPOILER your enjoyment

Not seen them before and they are fun to watch 😍
I am wickedly gleeful that the terrible production team of director and Writer are at 7.8 rating.
They have completely dented the Rep and Talent of 2 stellar actors 🤦🏽♀️
I am dying of embarrassment on their behalf..
Is the first time I scrolled to ONLY see what happens to the SFL romance if there is any at all... Weirdly even that is like in tiny droplets.
Love loved loved loved so many on your list..
Especially THE TALE OF Rose
