I guess you can ask yourself the same question about ownership over any type of art. Traditionally, owning art has been the privilege of the upper class. But I think it is easier to wrap our minds around physical ownership of art - we can hang it up in our houses, show it in a museum, etc.
Some of these NFTs go for exorbitant amounts of money, and they simply exist online. I'm sure some sales are to fans of artists or celebrities who want a piece of the pie. But I think for the most part those who own these expensive NFTs have more money than what they know what to do with. The privilege of having ownership that is literally encoded into the token is worth these insane prices. The other thing about NFTs is that they cannot, in principle, be copied.
So, again, folks who don't know what to do with their money. At least that's my theory.
Yes. Same for the anti-capitalism speech but with product placements. How to lessen the power of the conveyed…
I agree with that, but I also recognize that product placements are the main source of income for these production teams. No GMMTV show would get made if it weren't for product placement. It's a necessary evil. If it weren't for these corporate sponsors, Not Me wouldn't have been made.
That is basically the idea behind it. But NFTs are unique, so the idea is that if someone buys it then they are the only person who has ownership over it, and that ownership information is kept in the blockchain. It's all a bit crazy, but a lot of artists and celebrities hopping on the NFT bandwagon have gotten chewed out by fans for supporting something that consumes an insane amount of energy. (I believe that for some of these NFTs it's the energy equivalent of weeks or months of a citizen's energy usage.) I think realistically, UNARs activist fans would have cancelled him over selling an NFT.
Something I just thought of - it's a little ironic that UNAR has sold an NFT, when NFTs are absolutely terrible for the enviornment. It would have been funny if Yok called Dan out on it.
Lmao your comment about the suzuki made me laugh out loud. I was like why is Dan turning the radio up just to…
check out how easy it is to kidnap someone when you can get in your car with No Physical Key!
if the person you're kidnapping starts fiddling with your Touch Screen High Quality Stereo System, you can use the Handy and Convenient button on your steering wheel to mute it!!!
I don't read them as straight at all. As a bi person, I appreciate seeing characters that are bi-coded. I would…
I think that he is attracted to Eugene and in love with Black. Maybe he feels like Eugene is the next best thing, as sick as that sounds. Or maybe he has feelings for both of them. ... I just had a vision of a Gram/Black/Eugene relationship like 3 Will Be Free or something haha

Yes, I think Yok is gay. Neither he nor Dan seem to have any hang-ups about the sexuality aspect of their attraction. It seems their concern has more to do with their different roles. And I interpreted Yok's initial confusion about his feelings having less to do with Dan being a man and more to do with how quickly he fell.
Now I'm confused about Gram, so it's not Black whom he likes but Eugene? I mean, those longing looks are not just…
I do not think Gram likes Eugene. I think he is attracted to her, but he is in love with Black. When he kissed her, as horrible as it sounds, it almost read to me in a way of "if I can't have Black, I'll settle for the one closest to him". I didn't interpret the longing looks as him wanting Eugene but as him sympathizing with her. In his mind, Black doesn't want him either, so he must feel a kinship with Eugene.

Gram as well, although he'd probably be more likely to identify as pan. I love his ex-girlfriend and their dynamic. And clearly he's in love with Black. Who knows where that will go đ
This was a good episode, but they're trying to have it both ways. It's incongruous to have a strong statement…
I don't read them as straight at all. As a bi person, I appreciate seeing characters that are bi-coded. I would like it better if they were explicitly bi/pan, but that's incredibly rare in these shows. (I think the only one that sticks out in my mind was Leon from Don't Say No).
Truthfully the "BL" part of this show seems like it's playing second fiddle to the politics and I like that. The romance isn't the main focus.
And we are only halfway through. Who knows what will come re: characters and their sexualities.
Edit to add: I do completely understand your frustration, though. The whole "I'm not gay, I just like you" thing is incredibly frustrating and antithetical to the themes of this show. However, since they haven't done that yet, I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and assuming they are bi/pan.
This episode was fucking amazing. If I wasn't already obsessed with this show, I definitely would be now.
I haven't seen it all yet, but I'm preparing myself to say that this is the best show GMMTV has ever made, period.
This show builds tension so well - romantic and otherwise. And then there are the moments of real emotion carrying it along as an undercurrent. Love, loss, disability, power imbalance, etc. etc. etc. The pride flag scene made me cry.
I am not Thai. But as an American, the justice aspect of this show really resonates with me. Truthfully, I forget I am watching a BL. This show actually makes me think. I appreciate that.
One funny thing, however; subtly showing off the features of the Suzuki Swift (the touchless unlock, the stereo system) while Dan kidnapped Yod made me LOL. Speaking of Dan and Yod, they have such palpable chemistry. All the closeup shots of their faces make my heart flutter.
Agreed. The way the storyline has been going, there is nothing else they could do for a plot really. The sets…
They already gave us a Neung getting hit by a jetski plot so đ€·ââïž I think for extra drama they could have cut the fight from last episode. Instead doubt could have been developing in Phap but he keeps it hidden. He and Maze are still in an undefined relationship. Maybe Maze picks up on Phap's jealousy and misunderstands, thinking Phap is just not happy with him. And THEN if Maze decided to push him away so he would be "happier" in Japan... I think it would have been more realistic and far more painful.
After reading the comments I thought this episode would be much worse than it actually was. Yeah, it wasn't suuuper well-executed, but Maze's decision to push Phap away toward what he thinks is his true happiness makes sense as a plot device.
And once again we see the house from âBrothersâ. (I know itâs been used in other series too but the connection…
I always see it and think of Don't Say No. When it popped up in Baker Boys and Singto's character was sleeping in LeoFiat's room, I was like oh no the things that have been done in this room....
I wish I liked it more than I do. The script was a little confusing. And once again, two best friends get separated…
My guess is they separated before they had cell phones and just drifted apart.
There might have been a little resentment on Akk's part that Theo left him, and Theo was probably too busy getting swept up in France to stay in contact. It would be interesting if they explored how much they really don't know about each other and the fact that they lost touch. (But they probably won't).

And personally I don't see the "I'm not gay, just for you" trope as bi rep. It doesn't make me feel particularly represented.
