I'm actually struggling to understand the lower rating right now. I love the arc with Zhao traveling in secret to try to check on her father. And Yan Lai left behind with all the schemers, having to decide whether to trust his brother or not. The pace of the first ep was too much for me, and then it did slow down to establish all the court intrigue but things are picking up again. Chen Duling is terrific.

I do like this. It is hard to say who schemes the hardest 🤣 Right now my vote is on Xie Yan Fang...

I feel like it deserves a higher rating. It definitely had its flaws but a lot about it was very good.

The novel kinda follows TTEOTM novel style... appears to be a sad ending, but then there are rebirths and it leaves on a happy ending but I don't know that it was as satisfying as the TTEOTM novel ending😂 I suspect the dramatization will make us cry our eyes out, but it sure would be nice if they give us a complete ending instead of like what TTEOTM did...

The bad editing became especially blatant in ep 18 or 19 😐 I thought people were exaggerating, but they weren't

It's not a prequel. It IS set in the same universe, but in the future and about totally different characters. The novel (and characters) refer to TTJ, Li Susu, Sangjiu and Mingye, and the original devil god as well if memory serves. I am waiting for more news about this drama 👀 Very excited for it
