Honestly, short length series tend not to be the same quality as the longer shows. The way I warmed up to it (high ep count) is that I get to spend more time with the characters, and the story has more time to delicately unfold. I can't in good faith recommend a short series yet (I'm new to those myself) but My Journey to You (wuxia) had elements that really reminded me of AOS. Love Game in Eastern Fantasy was my first step into xianxias specifically. The other thing to keep in mind with Cdramas is that they do not shy away from sad or open endings.

I like both Cdramas and AOS. But the elements I loved most about AOS were what I've found in xianxia and wuxia shows. Outside of AOS, Kdramas aren't really doing shows like that, which is why I was thrilled to stumble into the realm of Cdramas, despite earlier misgivings because of high episode counts.
About to start my re-watch. I've been trying to watch other CDramas but nothing is working for me. Has Shadow…
Yeah, I'm genuinely into The Wanted Detective but because I'm still reeling from SL, I've been having a hard time binging lol Maybe that's not a terrible thing, but... SL was seriously just so good!!
This show was surprisingly very good with well written cases and characters. A lot of unpredictability here which…
I think it depends on what the viewer is after. If someone wants a romance in their mystery, Coroner's Diary is the way to go. But the mysteries in this show are superior imo. Coroner's Diary was far more procedural. This has many twists and turns. Saying that though, I'm only 10 eps in. I loved Coroner's Diary but this has the better psychological thrill.
I’m waffling between wanting to watch this one or LotFG… I really love Zhou Ye and the hype had me leaning…
I've actually only seen 1 ep of LotFG! It did not pull me in as intensely as Shadow Love. I do plan to watch it eventually though! I highly recommend Shadow Love, it was brilliant ⭐
No fr lol, wuxia/xianxia C-dramas are in a league of their own. After finishing AoS a few years ago, I was also…
Right?? I stumbled upon "My Journey to You" and for some reason that show reminded me of AOS, and ended up being my first wuxia drama. :D I definitely prefer Cdramas these days, but AOS was the Kdrama that led me to Cdramas lol
🙈 @ people in comments saying nothing will ever compare, y'all need to go check out Chinese wuxia and xianxia dramas if you're missing AOS. It'll be A WHOLE NEW WOOOORRRRRLLLLDDDDDD~ 🎵
*edit to add: I agree with you, this poster is not the best
Maybe November though, no official date yet
