Here's another one invested in this drama >>> me! xDThe problem is that I can only understand a little, but I'm…
Omgggg hi xD I’m so happy that we’re all here. My Japanese is at intermediate level so I never had the confidence to watch dramas with Jpn subs before but somehow this drama motivated me to do it for the 1st time and I’m so glad I understand like 80% of it so far hehe. That’s true. Their acting is so subtle yet so amazing, even the slightest change in their face expressions shown so much emotions. That’s why us audiences can still feel so many different things even though the scene is just pure silence. The dialogues are really clever and heart-throbbing as well, I can’t wait for you (and me) to understand them completely. It would be an experience xD
ok guys ep1 up im still new fansubbing so forgive mistakeshttps://www.mediafire.com/file/bxtlpa8j6novzh6/Shijukara_EP01_%255B1080p%255D_WEB-DL_AAC_H.264_%255BJDRF%255D.ass/file
Hey, thank you so much for your time and effort spent on subbing this episode, it was very kind of you to do that. I really want to say this as politely as possible so I'm sorry if this comment still comes of as rude or harsh, but your sub feels like it was machine-translated and most of the lines make no sense. I can't recommend others to watch it with your sub because this drama is my absolute favorite at the moment, I just want people to enjoy it at the fullest. I'm sorry again if I offended you in anyway, I hope you understand and know that if you plan to edit the sub and make it better, I'll still support you. In the meantime, I'd rather wait for better translation.
That scene when Chiaki tried to drink canned coffee even though he hates it and then the drama cut to Shinobu…
Saaame. I rewatched those scenes so many times it's getting unhealthy. His expression is just *chef kiss*, it's like his eyes speak so many things we can't hear. Crazy how he can switch from being fluffy cute to deadly dangerous in seconds just like that. The ED song's timing has been so perfect in each epsiode, it added so much to the atmosphere. I love it. And the OP is beautiful as well.
That scene when Chiaki tried to drink canned coffee even though he hates it and then the drama cut to Shinobu…
Omg yesss. Finally someone replied xD
Completely agree. They're so goooood at using the silences, the sound effects and the music to complement to camera work, I was in awe the whole time. And with Rihito's acting... it's just insane. That aquarium scene (both the stairs scene and the hands scene) really had me holding my breath. When he was on the stairs looking from above, there was this water ripples from behind him that slowly turned to bright orange color, and then his eyes, his aura, the music... it was all so intense and creepy yet so perfect that I had to rewind so many times lol And then there was the hands holding scene that made wet sound hahaha they just had to make everything so absurd and erotic like that, I loved it. Like that scene under the table in Ep 1? That was WILD.
So many fascinating details right from the 1st episode, the production has been amazing so far. I really hope it won't be overlooked. Actually, I noticed someone has shown interest in picking it up but they hasn't announced it yet so we'll see ;)
Girlie really had no healthy option lmao but if she's happy with her choice then good for her, sometimes it's better to stay stupid like that.
Cinematography wise, the film is beautiful. but it's true that the editing is too messy and all over the place, makes it hard to follow the story especially when you have to read the subtitles.
Plot wise, it's not much, a lot of questions were left answered. This would be a lot more fun if it were a mini series 30 mins x 10 eps with proper background and development for each character.
I'm actually more fascinated by the supporting cast in this movie, it was a very pleasant surprise to see Sorimachi Takashi, Yoshioka Riho and Yoshikawa Ai here. And that apartment complex looks really beautiful.
If you’re curious why this movie’s got such divided opinions, go see it for yourself. If you enjoy it, good for you. If you don’t, don’t think of it as a waste of time because you can always learn from failures lol
2 episodes in, so far it's been a fun watch and a kind of deeper than it seems. It's always a joy to see Adachi on screen and the little girl did a really good job. The music is really good too!
Also, at the very end of every episode, there's a disclaimer that goes like this (rough trans): "This story is a work of fiction. There is no relation to any actual person or organization. BUT, it's a little related to the actual Adachi Yumi herself." Seems like Ohku Akiko loves to have fun with those disclaimers, it's not the first time I've seen something like this in her works hahaha xD
lol that was when TV Tokyo and Netflix collaborated to make dramas for their late-night time slot, they made Love And Fortune and Million Yen Women together among some other dramas. But then the collaboration stopped, I don't remember why. After that TV Tokyo still makes really good late night dramas, it's just that they don't have enough publicity and the cinematography hasn't been as polished, expensive looking as back then.
I adore this movie. It felt like an open love letter to generations of Japanese women. The cinematography and the music made each arc exactly like a movie from its era. Ah... What a cast! What a film!
"Nothing wrong with contradictions. It's the things that don't quite make sense that make people and life interesting."
EPISODE 2:This is no spoiler, I just want to get this straight because I know some people would need to know this…
That scene when Chiaki tried to drink canned coffee even though he hates it and then the drama cut to Shinobu sliding off the sofa, putting her coffee mug right on the edge of the table as if the mug would fall off anytime. That, my friend, is an excellent use of metaphor and foreshadowing. The "coffee" here is Shinobu. And if I dig deeper on this whole "Chiaki and coffee", it can turn into "Chiaki and his mommy issues" analysis so let's just stop here lol
Also, Chiaki's past has been hinted many times from Ep1 through the way he wears his shoes, the way he eats, etc. He can take care of himself but clearly was never disciplined by his parents.
Well, those are just... a few of the details that I find interesting in the first 2 eps. As you can see, I'm a bit obsessed with this drama, I can go on about it forever lol I just love the production and the acting so much.
EPISODE 2: This is no spoiler, I just want to get this straight because I know some people would need to know this before watching: ---- Shinobu met her husband (Yohei) when she was 22, Yohei was 34-35 at the time. ---- Chiaki met Shinobu when he was 22, Shinobu was 39-40.
I just finished 2nd episode. This is... a drama for mature audience. Well, it's a late-night drama after all so keep that in mind. And it's pretty hard to keep my comment spoiler-free after all that lol. This drama walks a very thin line between the thriller of romance and the thriller of horror. By "horror" I don't mean anything bloody or ghostly, it's the atmosphere, acting, direction, music that give you this eerie, uneasy feeling and it's scary because you can't tell what the characters are thinking or what will happen. But that's what so good and addictive about this drama. Ep2 was another solid episode. I loved the very last scene, eating so casually in silence like nothing happened hahaha.
Here's hoping that the drama will keep it up till the end and that someone will soon pick it up to translate, I really don't want to see this page become my weekly review journal.
I liked it. It's a good coming-of-age movie. Did not sugar-coat anything, just left some questions answered.
Now, did anyone else sense something from Keichi? I don't think he was gay but he sure had someone he loved but he just couldn't say it because that scene in the car with him and Haruko though... um... let's just say that I hope "father-daughter" is the only "incest" here and that I'm just reading too far lol

you can get the raw from Nyaa or JRaws.
