hi, have you watched Toto Nee-chan? the heroine is also didn't get married and has no children, but her life story…
hi there. thank you for this golden piece of information. i haven't watched it yet but it's been on my watchlist and my hard drive for years. now i have another reason to make it my next asadora <3

Interesting list. I'm a little sad that my favorite asadora (Hanako to Anne, Ohisama) aren't in the top ten :(…
hi. i'm very happy that you find this list helpful. and sorry for this late reply (i was on a long hiatus). i hope you still enjoy watching asadora though. hanako to anne was one of my top asadora too. still haven't got the time to finish ohisama yet but i love it so far.

just so you know, i don't agree with some of the ratings here either. i guess some asadora hit closer to home for the japanese and it was a "home" that i didn't have or experience. i made this list so that it would be easier to pick my next asadora because the ratings on MDL doesn't help much. and i hope it's helpful for other users here too.

anyway, i've updated the list. there are some changes in the ranking but tora ni tsubasa still stays at its spot (can't wait to watch it <3).

Has he written anything as dark and compelling as Kono Yo No Hate?I watched that drama recently and I am blown…
Kono Yo No Hate was indeed his darkest work imo but if you want to check out more of his dark themed dramas, i recommend his works in the 90s: Kou Kou Kyoushi (the 1993 drama), Lipstick, Ningen Shikkaku, Miseinen, Seija no Koushin.

Do you have any recommendations that have the same vibes as this show? I’m loving it so far
Miki Kurinikku de Kanpai o (2019) also had a group of oddballs that solved corrupted cases like this and also had Itagaki Rihito in the main cast. an underrated gem imo.

it's been quite different from his previous dramas that i've watched but i can tell it's him writing it, you know, like his signatures are being left here and there haha. so far it's like a mix of his old and recent works . there are mysteries waiting to be solved, also silly comedy bits with unique characters. at ep3 there's a lot of potential for plot twists and new characters are still being introduced, i honestly can't tell where it's heading.

I don't think it was Micchi. Micchi walks in right after he's seen texting, but we don't see anything. I constantly…
i'm not sure, i've never watched it either.

man, i'm actually so happy that you've finally started watching this.
not many honestly. i did enjoy Brush Up Life (it's like an instant classic) and Kazoku Dakara Aishitan Janakute... (another Ohku Akiko hehe). Also Anata ga Shitekurenakute mo has a very solid first half, the second half is a bit... well, there are mixed opinions 😂 but it's worth checking out just for the cast and the acting alone.

Watching Shijukara currently and damn I had no idea he was capable of being that good. He's always played such…
ikr i got interested in him bc of Colorful Love but the more i checked out his works the more fascinated i got over his versatility. And then in Shijukara his acting was just... damn, i was fully blown away.

What's so good about this drama is that it addresses a lot of serious matters that happen in real life but barely anyone wants to talk about or is calm enough to sit down and talk about it. the characters are all flawed and make mistakes but they try their best to figure out what is right while dealing with their problems.

If you're looking for a romance drama with some "cheating's cheap thrills", i'm not judging you but this ain't it. the infidelity elements aren't just there in the drama just for the sake of it, so far those scenes weren't exactly sexually depicted but were tinted with pain and came with consequences.

Not to mention the powerful acting by the cast, the good old nostalgia music (probably bc of its mature target audience), the neat cinematography and especially how it's been so well directed and written with details and metaphors. The creators of this drama just really know what they're doing, and they're doing it with grace and so much consideration.

I'm only at Ep 8 and those 8 episodes are already solid enough for it to be in my first half 2023's top 10 best dramas. Hopefully the last 3 episodes will be just as good, or even better.

Worry not, I have no morals:) I found eng subs on a web called furritsubs wordpress, so I'll try and watch it.
yep, i actually watched the last 3 episodes with their subs too. i was kind of disappointed because the plot ended up a little underdeveloped, probably because they had to fit the story into 5 episodes. but nonetheless, it's still a very well directed drama. hope you'll enjoy it.
