You can give the first few episodes a try to see if you like it, it's only 25 min an episode. The entire drama doesn't have much to do with Gogh's paintings but it's more related to him as an artist. Every episode's narration is told under the FL's letters dedicated to Gogh.
i don't have any problems with the relationships in this drama or the ending, it might not be an ideal ending for a drama that calls itself a "love story" but i think it's the most reasonable ending they could come up with. the only problem i have with this drama is that i think it would serve so much better as a 25 mins x 10-12 episodes drama than 45 mins x 10 episodes. The story is not that eventful for it to be this long, as a result it felt dragging at times.
nonetheless, i still loved that the execution (directing, cinematography and music) did a really good job bringing out the peaceful and sentimental nature of the story. nothing's too dramatic, no one's at fault but the characters were still able to show growth and move forward. rintaro being the young version of hidekazu was really spot on, good casting lol. and the music!!! god the soundtrack was absolutely beautiful, it literally shaped the whole vibe of the drama (not the theme song tho, the ED song kinda threw me off every time tbh, sorry).

just a little heads up, the subber below might not actually post any subs for this drama. i've seen them comment the same thing on another jdrama 4-5 months ago and still no updates about that one so far. so, trust them at your own risk (still hope that i'm wrong though).
has anyone watched ep10? Oyo was so hot AND cute omg that was so hilarious (though it must have sucked for her to be with Ieyasu all this time) and like... Ieyasu took it in so easily?? at first he was like "WHAT??! You cheated on ME??? with WHO??" and then he was like "Eh? with this lady here? um... it can't be help then uwu" lmao asjkajsdaks

messy drama, i'm at ep7 and enjoyed it so far. the directors seem to have a lot of fun filming this one, some metaphors are being placed here and there, quite a lot of unusual camera techniques have been used (which i hope they won't overdo it or it will be borderline pretentious). the story has taken a few funny turns so far and manages to not be too grim or serious while portraying the characters' feelings and struggles properly. also the OP is gorgeous, there's a bunch of foreshadowing there too.
