Rika tried to rape Kengo to make him forget about Hanako and then slapped him in the face when she left lol that…
Anyway, I liked the movie. I wish they could delve deeper into Hanako, she was an intriguing character but felt kinda distant. But i guess that was the whole point of "the other side of the moon which you can't see" that they tried to convey in the movie. Rika was also an interesting one. She was very passive and her decisions were really questionable, to the point i know she would annoy many viewers lol. But somehow all that just created a lovely dynamic between Hanako and Rika. 8/10 for me.
Rika tried to rape Kengo to make him forget about Hanako and then slapped him in the face when she left lol that one part weirded me out a bit, i mean he kinda deserved the slap but the rape... even if it was necessary to the flow of the story, it was still very triggering.
I found the raws on jptvclub some time ago and finally finished it today. there are no subs afaik, the raws' quality can't pull off the cinematography's beauty but it's watchable. The first and last episode are 43 minutes long, the rest is >25 minutes each.
The drama is an open love letter to Sentou (Japanese traditional public bathhouses) and you can feel the appreciation through every shot and every second of it. It's warm and calming. As one of the characters said: "Sentou is people", most bathhouses have been run by many generations of owners so of course they have become an important part of many people's lives with different stories.
I love the supporting cast. There are some other guest stars that are not listed here, namely Hamada Mari in Ep7. I can't find any trust worthy source to update the info here though.
I finished it. Some things remained confusing till the end, but i guess the same goes for people's sexualities irl, nothing is absolutely clear. This drama did get better in later episodes (honestly i was so ready to curse it here after i finished Ep2). Since i'm already used to things like gender fluidity so i keep forgetting that most het/cis people need time to absorb and accept it, especially when it "happened" directly to their lives like this drama. I have to admit it's interesting to take this "fictional story" as a chance to see how they work it out. It makes me wonder if this "phenomenon" happened irl, would it really blur the lines between genders... (maybe it would, but not entirely) And I think the final episode was cute, somehow they still managed to surprise me at the very end lol
I'm also Rihito fan (I subbed the horse one) and I'm a bit interested, has anyone taken the project yet? if not…
omg ashsdjskds i remember you, thanks again for subbing Kaze Mukou 😠so far there's no one that i know of is working on it. i'm still seeding the batch on private trackers. do you have access to avistaz or jptvclub? if you don't i can give you an invite to jptvclub. or if you want i can upload them to another download host.
I'm at Ep10 and I'm sorry but as someone who loves both foodie and dark romance dramas, this one really gets on my nerves, seriously. I don't like what they're making Ayame into, what is this? Male fantasy? I thought the colors of her clothes was for showing her feelings and emotions because her thoughts aren't clear but now it seems like they use the colors to show the change of her image, like they're forcing their view onto the audience, making her into this "mysterious destructive seductive woman". She feels like an image (or an object like one of the comments below said) not a person, which makes me feel uncomfortable bc i can't related to her as a person.
Also, I don't mind if they use flashbacks to reveal more stories from the past, but they keep putting flashbacks of scenes from previous episodes again and again in every episode, especially for Kita, to the point it almost feels like they underestimate the audience's memory. I watch the drama weekly and I'm already this annoyed by it, I wonder how I would feel if I'd binged it in a day lol
Or maybe it's just me being nitpicking, but it's really annoying i have to vent it out somewhere. The cast didn't do anything wrong, they're acting their asses off for this drama. It's just the execution is such a disappointment to me. There are 2 episodes left though, let's see how it goes.
And thank Luwuang for working on this drama, your subs are much appreciated.
I love Toko, she puts me at ease with everything she does. Really like the direction and music (the song on the last episode was so cute) and the cozy, healing and vintage vibes <3 The "wound" on the signboard suits the literal meaning and the overall aesthetic so much i laughed when i first saw it lol
Also the manga that the kid was reading in Episode 10, it was named "Kimi no Neechan". I believe this was a reference to Boku no Neechan, another manga from the same author of Snack Kizutsuki which also got a drama adaptation in 2021. Please watch that drama too if you enjoyed this one, the format is really different but they both have the same healing vibes ^^
I finished it. I couldn't find JP subs anywhere so I watched it raw. In my opinion, Season 2 is slightly better than Season 1. Better context, better music, better cinematography and color grading. And solid character development. Not to mention the OP this season is a huge upgrade. And just like S1, there was also a tiny cross-over with another drama. Loved it. Here's hoping for another season <3
So far I've seen 5 episodes with JP subs and I can confirm that the plot is nothing like some comments below and the synopsis here only describes like 3% of the drama. the drama is set in a fictional world where people have recently found a strange phenomenon that completely changes a person into their opposite sex. it happens to random people at random time for unknown reason, and the cure for it (meaning the way to reverse back) is still a mystery. Our main couple is married and suddenly one day the husband became a victim of this phenomenon, this is where the drama begins.
I know it might sound very silly and yes there is a certain comedy element, but this drama actually deals with the theme seriously and addresses a lot of problems regarding gender inequality and some other matters that've been lying under the surface in Japan. And so far the development has been quite unpredictable.
My only problem with it is that, I don't really believe that a person's sexual orientation would change even if their gender is changed like what happened to the ML but I guess they can just brush it off with the "individual differences" reason.
This is definitely NOT a sci-fi movie lol. More of an art film/documentary than a movie. Shot completely from the director's perspective. The cinematography is mesmerizing and the featured artworks are hauntingly beautiful. Slow paced, rather philosophy heavy than plot-driven. It's exactly how the synopsis here said, especially the last sentence. (got the movie from jptvclub and watched it without subs)
Yes his lack of inspiration may have triggered it. His hallucinations abt mannequin n dog,how her body was still…
thanks for the reply. i don't rmb much of the movie anymore but i do rmb that there were indeed many hints leading to that interpretation, so yea i agree with you.

Also, the soundtrack is beautiful.
