Caught up. Ep 12 was excellent. First ep where I don't feel dislike for CGH momentarily. It's sad that the friendship between NH and and CGH ended so badly. But who blames a kid for something like that happening? If anything, that was more the guard's fault that couldn't protect the Queen. NH's father is trash and it's not only that he's immature like the Queen said but just a bad person all around. "To know me don't use your eyes." Yep, Nan Heng already fell hard for Song Yimeng. He was so vulnerable there my heart hurt. She will fall for him too eventually. I wonder how long til she discovers that LS=NH. Such a good drama loving it more and more.

NH was always a villain in the original script. He was worse EX. those scenes in the first episode is how he was in the original script. SYM entering the script is what is changing things. ML's can be villanous or antiheroes, most CD dramas ML's are very antihero like. As for SYM becoming the FL in the script now I guess it's because once she transmigrated into the script it became her story. Hence why NH is now falling in love with her whereas in the OG script he was never supposed to care about her.
On ep 11 and not done with it yet but I don't know: the way everyone treats Chui Gu Hong, I feel like he's not as clean cut as he or everyone else pretends that he is. There's just something about him that feels really selfish and evil. Look at his reaction to the fire. Also, from Nan Heng's flashbacks on the Queen's death something tells me it was actually CGH who caused her death not Heng like everyone believes. But for some reason NH never said the truth or when he did no one believed him. I just wish SYM wasn't so enamored and blind to who CGH may really be. perhaps the script will somehow show the truth as it keeps changing.
Got to say I love the costumes in this drama. Li Yi Tong's and Liu Yu Ning's are particularly stunning! some of the best I've seen in Chinese costume dramas.

If tpob was filmed before tsopg then agree that it would have come out before the story of pearl girl. All of Song Zuer's previously shelved dramas came out this year which is good for her. she didn't deserve to be erased like that.

True TPoB ending right before ADWAD started out too many parallels. Still loving this one a lot aside from his characters being really similar. The story is not and that’s good 🤣. I guess they released The Prisoner of Beauty like that because of SZ’ers past legal troubles. No noise so it could be aired.

I have a feeling that it was actually CG who caused her death not NH. The flashback of it? CG looks fishy. Just don’t know why NH didn’t say anything. And if he did. I guess no one believed him.
Binge watching this and I'm loving it! Currently on ep 10. I know some people had problems with the comedy style at first, but I loved it. I LOL so much those first 6 eps. The comedy is still there but it's more settled than in the beginning style making me laugh. LYT & LYN have great chemistry for me. Nan Heng does remind me of Wei Zhao at times, maybe too soon after TPoB? Still, I feel like LYN is on a role right now a couple of good dramas, showing what he can do. I can't wait for Song Yi Meng to see how wrong she is about NH. As for Chui Gui Hong there's something about him. I don't like him. He seems too good to be true.
