I think due to copyright reasons MM is not really following ALP. Their characters are only based on TianQi and YueMi. Only ALP drama and novel fans know that BS and FY are meant to be them. I have a theory that what we see in the opening is Xing Yue's sacrifice to protect Jing Yuan from whatever she's fighting or something. That will parallel YueMi's sacrifice in ALP. In theory tho the story here is different.

I think that after MM is over, I'm going to take a break from Chinese drama. After one of my favorites ends, it's really hard for me to move on and find something I like just as much. I might watch The Legend of The Female General but depending on if I like it or not, will also depends if I break or not.

I haven't watched a lot of Xianxia but from the ones I've seen only Fan Yue and Bai Shou + The Starry Love's Shaodian Youquin and Linguag Yetan have been the healthiest couples I've seen. And I give FY & BS the edge a little more because YQ & YT didn't have as much time together. Believe it or not they had even more tragedy in their lives but were supportive and extremely loving like our MC here. It's rare to find couples like this in Xianxia so I'm glad the writers of MM chose to give us one.
I guess The Blossoming Love have a couple like this too but even though I watch I'm not as into tem as I am with FY & BS. What a beautiful love story they have.

I'm kinda feeling this way too. I'm torn it's so hard to get over what she did and I'm so glad she's suffering. BUT at the same time, I can't help feeling bad for her. In the end despite her evil and her cruelty she was a victim. Now being away from Zhen Yu, she seems to love her sister and Chong Zhao. IA don't see how she cannot have a tragic ending but at the same time, it's so sad.

please if any cp, any two characters deserve their happy ending its Fan Yue and Bai Shou.

The bickering/ arguing between FY & BS will end soon. They did that because they were in denial of their feelings and both are stubborn. Once they open up more to each other, that changes. Oh yes BS and CZ are very annoying. Prepare yourself for Chong Zhao, he gets even more annoying.

I feel the same. I don't want him to lose his Yue side, I love him so much too. That's who Shou fell in love with. For her to lose him for good would be tragic and heartbreaking. So, I'd rather he be a mix of both with Fan Yue being the prominent persona. We will see what they do.

They really define the whole soulmates, destined to be, great love aspect. I need them to have their happy ending. They have so much tragedy in their past life already. He's waited for her for 60,000 + years (and in a way she's been waiting for him to find her too) just let them be happy. BTW I hope Bai Shou remembers her past as Xing Yue/ Yue Mi too. Fan Yue will def, she needs to too.

You know that promise that Fan Yue made to Bai Shou to love her forever, I'm pretty sure he made that same promise 60,000 years ago. And he kept to that promise. Gosh, I'm so in love with their love.

I think he will. I'm just not sure if he'll have those memories mixed in with Jing Yuan's when he returns or will it take him time to recover his FY persona, Like I mentioned before it looks like he recognizes Bai Shou when he first comes back as Jing Yuan. Agree that he feels like Fan Yue there but I guess we have to wait and see.
Also, when TH dies (I hate this!) he's wearing his Fan Yue robes in that clip so whatever happens he chooses to stay as Fan Yue. Or JY leaves his body. I do think TH's death is later not before his "death." I'm so intrigued to know all of this.

He'll be a mix of both. Still FY but JY too. In the spoiler where it looks like that TH dies, he's wearing his Fan Yue robes. He probably chooses to stay more in that persona because that's all he's known for 25 years.

I think when Bai Shou brings him back mostly as Jing Yuan I think he’ll retain some of his Fan Yue memories. In the closing credits there is a scene of BS and FY/JY running to each other+ hugging and he’s dressed in his God Attire. The way he clings to her, he seems to recognize her. He must have some of his memories there. Unless he thinks it’s XY. I really don’t want him to lose his Fan Yue memories and persona.

As much as I dislike Chong Zhao keeping something from Bai Shou yet again. I do like how both Fan Yue and Chong Zhao are handling the Xi situation when it comes to their girls. FY basically already knows that FL is BX, he’s smart and you can see him figure it out 100% when CZ’s mom calls her Bai Xi. While he wants Bai Shou to accept the truth(whatever that may be)before it’s too late, he’s not pushing her to do it either. He puts the idea out there abd let’s her decide while being the amazing, supportive boyfriend he is. Loved their last scene ❤️❤️❤️❤️. Chong Zhao respects Fu Ling’s decision because he knows she’s not ready even though deep down he knows BS deserves to know the truth.

The whole situation with Jing Yue is strange. Seemingly there’s 2 versions of him running around.
His God form in the Lunar realm and Fan Yue who is a reincarnation of him. And this is where I’m confused- was Yue born as a vessel for JY only? Or was he just a demon who was unlucky to be born with Jing Yue’s purple eyes? Later, when JY fell down the mountain he took over FY’s body? Which would explain why Fan Yue has two sets of memories right now. Are they two entities or one? So confusing, I hope it’s cleared up later.

Chong Zhou really is an idiot. More than 10 years “in love” with Shou thinking she had written those Poems when in reality it was Xi who wrote them. No wonder Bai Shou never cared for him in that way 🤣. Anyway CZ represents TianQi in this version which means him and Fuling are probably getting the tragic ending.
