Yes, I love looking at such injustices in the eye, but so far, gender inequality still exists, especially in a very advanced country, like the USA. I'm dumbfounded!
Knowing how important her pregnancy is, she should have bubble-wrapped herself up, instead she takes food from a stranger. Simply dumb! Why do the writers want to make her so brilliant and at the same time make her dumb? Totally not align with her intelligence :(
Any wars and political intrigue? My interest has been piqued by the absence of romance.
Yes, quite a lot of war scenes. Very well done. Politics within the royal court as well as with Liao, showing the great diplomacy of Liu E, are fascinating to watch.
What you say is so true, but these two dramas are meant for different viewers, don't you think? :)
Well, attention to details takes so much effort. They even use manhua to substitute many scenes. So we can tell how much effort they want to invest into details, unfortunately. Maybe the bulk of the budget goes to the pay of the big names.
Be patient. We're only at Episode 18. Still a long way to go. Remember it was the emperors' job to "sleep around"…
It is indeed very sad that women were treated so poorly in ancient times, as well as in modern times. Ironically, women have been and continue to play an important role in shaping the society as well in politics. Despite being so suppressed, women have been the power behind many emperors and in today's politics as presidents for many countries.
Be warned, new viewers. This is not a fluffy romance story, but a very real historical one based on actual events and people. Therefore, the ML here has multiple spouses which was the norm and required of the emperor. So don't be thrown off.
The production is of very high quality and the acting is very good. Just the editing was a bit off in the first 10 episodes or so, I guess they tried to trim down the length to 61 from over 80 initially.
Best drama since Addicted. It's the only one of his drama I have managed to watch since Addicted. He's awesome!!!
I love Timmy Xu in "Mayang Street", but not so much in "Weaving a Tale of Love". I've already watched five episodes of "Ping Pong" since I last posted. So far, not bad, and I'm enjoying the training camp. Timmy's acting is not bad here too. This is the type of role he's good at - kind of bad boy attitude :)

I know, I'm frustrated as well when I see him so indecisive at times. But then, I don't think he forgets his "big love" at all, on the contrary, she's on his mind all the time. Just that, as an emperor, he was required to be fair to all his spouses and allocate his "sperms" proportionately whether he likes it or not. XD (Sorry if you're a minor.) It's just part of his duties as an emperor.
Sleeping around apart, what is good that emperor good at ? The editing has improved but I just want to see how…
Be patient. We're only at Episode 18. Still a long way to go. Remember it was the emperors' job to "sleep around" in those days. Emperor Zhenzong was not as bad as the others as he hadn't produced as many children as required :D
Oh trust me, when Zanila's version come out, it will be the best even if it's scriptless, includes no conclusion,…
Contrary to you, I have loved Liu Tao empress portrayal since "The Legend of Mi Yue". She has that regal aura as compared to Zhao Li Ying who looks more like a young girl suitable for a fighting heroine role. :D
