Sigh! Why does she always get herself kidnapped in the most ridiculous outfits??? You would think she learned…
IKR! Those beautiful long flowing outfits that get tangled here and there. I must admit she has the most beautiful wardrobe here. I guess the production team just want to show off their talents in couture in this drama :)

Wanted to enjoy this and did, at first. Then, it took turns that ruined what made it compelling in the first place.FL…
Yeah, like you, I hate this trope too: a man or woman force someone else to reciprocate their love, if not, they are entitled to do anything they want, including to bring harm, to the persons who don't love them back. When I first started watching C-drama, I was like, WTF! Over the years, then I understand this is the trope that's been used in almost all mainland Chinese dramas. I do wish they change this one day because it's really getting so annoying.

This was the drama I looked most forward to, I was waiting 2 years for this to air ..and when it finally Did air…
I agree with @estrgrace7. Don't read the negative comments here because they may not be portraying the real picture to you. Watch it for yourself.

Anyone recognize the father? He is creepy he lan in Rebel Princess
OMG! Had you not pointed out, I wouldn't have recognized him. I love his acting in both dramas.

What kind of role does Yu Bin have here? I thought about watching it because of him so I'm curious.
He has a cute and loyal role. Very nice character he's playing.

The FL's acting has to be one of the worst I've seen in a while. Boy it's bad.
I don't think the 2 main leads' acting is worse than the acting of those idols, such as, you know who ..... :)

if you don't like this adaptation then i don't see why you need to stick around to comment on other people's comments…
That's the fun watching dramas together, right? Some people like certain dramas, some don't. We discuss why we like them and why we don't. That's why we enjoy coming on to MDL, no?

They are releasing the subs almost as the same time its released in China. I dont understand the complains here
I do find many Chinese dramas have their lines repeated constantly. So if you watch a lot of Chinese dramas, you can even guess what they are going to say next. Do you really think when people say they understand Chinese just to sound cool? Hmmm....

Ah... I see. Thanks for the explanation. I should think of it like Star Wars way :D

Episode 2 - I thought people clasp their hands and bow to each other in greetings rather than shaking hands in historical dramas.

Review Legend of the Phoenix Spoiler
What do you think of the Empress?
I like the Empress. She's also a pitiful character. I really like it that she works with the ML and FL to overcome their hurdles.

Does this drama go from comedy to sad like people dying and stuff? I hate those kinds of drama! Can anyone tell…
Don't worry. This drama feels like a rom-com throughout, light, funny and comedic, with a very obvious plot. The antagonists are not very intelligent, making the whole drama fun to watch.

Yes, indeed women are being used as pawns in many historical stories. But ironically, despite being pawns, women also garner enormous power behind the scene, eg. Empress Wang, A'Wu, Empress Xie Wan Ru etc.

Title Weaving a Tale of Love Spoiler
Talented Wu and Crown Prince, they look like a cute couple-but too bad she is the concubine of the current King!
She will marry the Crown Prince when the Emperor dies, and becomes the famous Wu Empress, Wu Zetian, who is also a de facto emperor. Cheers to women power!

I'm up to Episode 18, not a single second skipped, so I can say these: This series is getting intense and serious; it's so good. Great wuxia, great palace politics, great ML (smart and the best fighter around), great FL (intelligent and courageous), great Wu concubine (intelligent and kind), great antagonists (intelligent, devious, unscrupulous, really really and blatantly bad and annoying). Yes, must watch. Don't be misled by the low ratings on Duboku and Douban, and by the negative reviews here on MDL.
