Amazing review, bravo! Now I finally understand why they had used Zhang Luyi as the 13 year-old Ying Zheng, especially the final public scene together with his father. Yes, they did resemble each other with very similar features. Love it!

They use a live guinea pig for the dagger? WTF!
I would have thought all these fur and pelt on their costumes are fake. I thought it's not easy to find real stuff these days, no?

Only on 44 - not a spoiler - just a line -- "Have her majesty stamp on them" I almost fell out of my chair with…
Absolutely! Everything else seems pale now compared to this one.

I never thought elixir stuff was on the table tbh, since it was going for a positive portrayal, but I'm NOT happy…
Yes, it's not hard to see the government has a hand in this.

I think it will end at the first scene of Episode 1, ie. when he completes his conquests and proclaims himself Qin Shi Huang.

Depends. It's based on real historical figures and events. It's heavy and very political. No romance. Can be dry…
Yes, you should if you like Chinese history. This drama is very well made. The characters are very interesting. I love it.

Two more episodes left. Doubt if they're going to include any of the search for elixir stuff here. So far, they are trying to portray a 'perfect' Emperor.

Whats the difference between five horse drawn pull vs five cow drawn pull , i guess difference lies in their gallop…
I think the difference between splitting by horse and by ox is the speed a person gets killed. Obviously horses are faster. Imagine being killed slowly by reluctant oxen .... :>

Still on the topic of execution, on a Christmas Day, which is worse: being cooked or split apart by oxen?

I am up to episode 20 now. Yes, lots of fighting to watch. The cast did a great job, but the over dubbing does…
Xie Yun sounds ok sometimes, but sometimes he sounds cartoonish, really destroy that character.

From the look of things, I can see why ZLY complained and made quite a big deal of it.

I like it if I treat it as a rom-com, nothing serious, everything is just a joke with a bunch of cute kids. But I can feel a plot lurking which has a lot of wuxia elements, and I want to watch that. Right now, the plot has been replaced by spoilt brats (especially that Li Yan) running around with no sense of priority and urgency. Sigh!
