Title Go Ahead
I can't count the number of times I cried while watching this show. It's too realistic. I especially connect with…
Your story sounds all too familiar. Yes, Qi Mingyue's mother is a typical Asian Tiger mom, and the children such mothers produce are usually top students going to ivy-league schools, musical prodigies, future doctors, engineers, lawyers, scientists etc. I guess what we should learn from our parents is not to treat our own children this way in future. When our parents are old and we look back, that's what really hits us, and this drama has beautifully reflected all this in front of our eyes. That's why it makes us cry.

Why is everyone so turned off by the English title? That was what got me interested in this drama in the first…
That's the thing - the title sounds comedic and cartoonish, and a lot of people don't like it too comedic though they like comedies which are different. I wasn't going to watch it but I had nothing else to watch so I tried the first episode. Now this is my favorite airing drama.

Things are looking up from hints after today's episodes - 17 and 18. So it's not doom and gloom anymore, though…
I think, in a way, she does because she overhears the conversation in the library, but the conversation also doesn't confirm outright that he's involved. Over the years, he has been kind to her and has been a good ruler, so she doesn't hate or dislike him. Furthermore, she knows if she says anything, she would endanger Xiao Chengyu and Xiao Chengxuan. I have a feeling that she is using her current position, a situation that she can't walk away, to help pave way for Xiao Chengyu. Like Chengyu, she is silent, patient and laying very low.

This is a huge plot development, wow!
Her sister comes back into the picture with her husband dead. Remember she's in love with Xiao Chengrui earlier? If it really develops the way I suspect it would, dang! this man already has 2 wives from the same family. He's going to get a third one? How greedy can he be?

- Xiao Chengxu gets 50 giant whacks on the backside.
No, I believe Xiao Qiyuan is still his nephew but not by Mingyu, but by Wanyin. I don't think Xiao Chengyu and Mingyu would ever commit adultery.

Not romantically. She even flinches when he tries to caress her. After the Xi Qi encounter, I believe she wouldn't want any intimacy with him completely though she would still perform her perfunctory duty as a wife.

Nah, I think he wants intimacy but she manages to avoid him without making it too obvious. After the Xi Qi encounter, I don't think it's ever likely to happen anymore, and I don't think he can force her to it. That's why I feel her sister, Wanyin, would come in.

The sachet is not completed. Some parts of the Mandarin ducks are missing, so Chengxu requests Mingyu to complete it.

i'm only on ep 4 but the relationship of the parents of the ML in this show make me laugh. it is just refreshing…
Yes, when the parents are nice and cute, it takes so much angst away from a drama and makes it really relaxing and enjoyable.

I was worried that Helan Mingyue may cave in and become intimate with Xiao Chengrui. But after her encounter with the Xi Qi, I don't think she would ever have a baby with Xiao Chengrui anymore. The baby has to come from somewhere, so I guess from the sister she rescues.
