Dang! I thought this is a light watch. It's still rather funny and silly with the 3 brothers, but it's moving into a different territory. It's getting heavier, more intriguing, and good. I'm enjoying it.
Ok so far i've watched Cheng Yi dramathe latest with 4 episodes for now, but in my opinion the plot is less interesting,…
This drama and L&R are two totally different genres. L&R can have anything as far as imagination can take, but The Promise of Chang'an is limited to real life. Therefore, story wise, I'm not surprised different viewers have different preferences. For me, I love anything Chinese including this drama :)
I finished this drama and I loved the FL ,she knows how to fight ,she is not the best one but she is the most…
It didn't explain why (don't remember seeing/hearing it) the younger brother the Emperor but normally who becomes the emperor depends who bore him. If he's a child of the Empress, then he'd be the Emperor even if he's younger. The poisoned princess returns to her kingdom with her brother.
Watching ChengXu drink away his sorrow at the end of Ep. 10 and the beginning of Ep. 11 really broke my heart!…
Oh boy! I'm already half drained at episode 12, 44 more episodes to go. I think I would become a zombie by the end of the series if the torments continue.
What if she hasn't bore that child? I can't see how she can give herself to that man and bear him a child, knowing…
I mean the son may not be hers. Remember her sister is also having a child. We don't know at this point if it's a boy or a girl. I don't think she would ever let him touch her. So far, I believe they still haven't consummated. There's no tragedy tag here. Therefore, our boy still stands a chance.
Episode 10 is hard to watch. It feels like L&R all over again, this time in the real world T_T These writers are really sadistic, causing all the angst for the viewers :(
I hate the fact that Cheng rui will have a son with ming yu,instead of ming yu having a child with Cheng xu. I…
What if she hasn't bore that child? I can't see how she can give herself to that man and bear him a child, knowing what he's done to Xiao Chengxu, her love. Furthermore, it's not like Xiao Chengrui has no son; he has already a son as old as Xiao Chengxu, and can be an heir.
Cheng Yi as a 17 year-old Xiao Chengxu is passable, but Sarah Zhao as a 16-17 year-old Lan Mingyu is a bit overstretched. It would have been so good if they find an untamed girl to play this role; Sarah Zhao is too lady-like. However, she may fit in perfectly in later episodes as Lan Mingyu grows up and marry into the Xiao household as a consort.
I am on episode 24 now and there are 3 things that make me very curious. Hopefully L& R lovers can help me to…
1. This part is revealed quite late in the drama towards the ending. Both SF and XJ were still in the heavens when XJ was being punished and SF came to protect her. They both were banished and sent to the mortal world for the tribulations for 10 lifetimes. 2. After each lifetime, they go back to heaven and need to drink the 'forget water' and jump back down to their next tribulation. That was XJ's 10th lifetime when she jumped and arrived at Shao Yang. By the time she entered her mother, her sister Ling Long was already born. Her mother was in additional labor for a day or so for XJ to be reborn. 3. No, I don't believe they know SF's real identity before the final showdown. Other viewers may want to chip in for this.

Episodes 4-12 - Torments, torments more torments. A bunch of tears. Very sorrowful.
