She wants to take care of her family but has no earning ability and no education. She does love Ziqiu a lot as shown in Ziqiu early life. I believe she marries a wealthy husband who doesn't know about Ziqiu's existence so she can't come forward to take Ziqiu back without jeopardizing her marriage. You would understand if you have met an unmarried teenage mother. All her actions are just as realistic. The only thing we don't know now is what happens to her marriage. Is her husband still alive or dead or divorced? Why has she hurt Ziqiu like that with her cold and hurtful words? She didn't need to.
