Yes, I share your thoughts. Ling Xiao, though protects her like a big brother, he also has romantic feelings towards her from a very young age. When he leaves, he tells her multiple times not to date, subtly as if from a big brother but there's more to that advice. He indirectly stalks her, finding out everything she does everyday through Qi Ming Yue. And he's the one who buys her her first bra (XD).

Li Hai Chao has a very different view in parenting. He is very open minded. He understands that to love a child is not to force him/her to do the things a parent wants, but the things the child wants. It's fine if the child doesn't get good grades, doesn't mean she is not a good person or destined to failure. Many parents make the mistake that everything the parents say is good for the child - not necessary so. Many parents make mistakes too, so what parents say may not be good. Li Hai Chao teaches the children to critical think for themselves, not just to obey everything from the adults. That's why they can make their own decisions what they want to do, like going abroad to live and to school, and he lets them. When parents let go of the children, the children come back. When they hold tight and make decisions for them, the children leave. Li Hai Chao understands this principle.

At first she's mad at them for leaving. Then she has an epiphany and grows up overnight, realizing they are not her actual brother. At this point, I think perhaps she fears to have any emotional attachment to them, so she tries to avoid them.

She initially likes Zi Qiu but he's too blur to catch her motives. So she turns to Ling Xiao because he has approached her to feed him news on Jian Jian as Jian Jian doesn't want to say much to him over the years.

This actor really has that wicked smirk that makes him look evil, and yet adorable because of this particular character he's playing.

Yes, anyone would want a daughter like her, positive, compassionate, devoted. The father plays a very important role in having a child like that. Imagine if she were born to Qi Ming Yue's mother, she's doomed.

Only when one grows old then one'd would want to return to the old days.

Love the opening OST Fearless. The lyrics are so touching, make me cry like a baby.

So agree with you in everything you say here. Yes, technically, Ling Xiao has stalked Jian Jian for 9 years through Ming Yue.

I believe Zi Qiu will end up with Ming Yue eventually for the following reasons:
- she has seen him naked (kind of)
- like you said, she has a crush on him while they were at school. But at that time, Zi Qiu was emotionally undeveloped for boy/girl stuff and couldn't get Ming Yue's hints (like giving him water, food etc). Also Ming Yue's mom has asked her to go for Ling Xiao because he is a better choice.
- when both are rejected in love (by Ling Xiao and Jian Jian), they're going to bond with each other
- Ling Xiao's little sister is too young - too big an age difference, so don't think they can blossom romantically.

Let's enjoy this wonderful drama.

Same here. I had thought this was only going to be a filler drama for me, but it's so good that I can't stop watching. Now, I'm so behind with my other dramas. A lot of catching up to do :)

No doubt there will be heart aches for Zi Qiu initially, but I think he'd overcome it with Ming Yue (who is also suffering) by his side. Zi Qiu seems to be a character who can withstand a lot of pain (like his parents think he's a mistake and a burden). I love the Zi Qiu character so much.

Perhaps you are looking at her as a 30 year old actor acting as a 15 year old teenager. I've asked people who don't know Seven Tan to guess her age. All the answers I got was she's 15. So if you try to imagine her as a 15 year old with all the cuteness and innocence, you may feel differently :)

Love those bear hugs and unreserved kissing. So adorable! Too bad (or good?) people grow up and don't do these anymore. I miss their youthfulness.
