I have re-watched this series multiple times but always stopped at the massacre scene and couldn't move on. It's…
The massacre scene is in Episode 12. Be warned - it's very painful. She loves the ML and he loves her too. It's just so sad they are in that situation - he's a prince and in constant fear and danger of being murdered; she's a princess and has her role to play to protect her own kingdom and people. He has a concubine who loves him but he doesn't love. In the drama, he doesn't have children with any women. I don't think he has sex with Sese though he's slept with her (it's not clear), but he may have had sex with Xiao Feng, it doesn't show.
He doesn't turn bad as such. In the beginning before he meets Xiao Feng, he's scheming to take revenge for his crown prince brother whom he thinks is murdered by the Danchi (it's more complicated than that). Then he meets Xiao Feng and uses her to lead him to find the Danchi stronghold. But he doesn't expect himself to fall in love with her. The massacre is so painful for Xiao Feng so she jumps into the Forget Lake to wipe out her memory of everything including Li Cheng Yin who also jumps into the water with her. So their story starts all over again with each other not remembering the other. They fall in love with each other all over again. There's not much harem here as Xiao Feng has quite a few allies in the palace, but Li Cheng Yin doesn't treat her very well as a cover to protect her. He figures if people know that he loves her, people would use her to hurt him, hence endangering her. All the palace stuff is bitter and sweet for Xiao Feng and the romance is good. There's quite a bit of palace politics and power struggle.
That's good to hear. So you've watch eps 31 & 32? Traitor!:O Check out Turkish series the historical ones. I started…
Amazing stories. So similar to the Chinese monarchs - constant living in fears and dangers. Thanks so much for the links. Really enjoying these new dramas from a different culture.
Everyone is praising strong FL. But princess consort is amazing so far!
I love Wang Zi Jin. Not many girls dare to defy their fathers like that. She has a mind of her own and how she plays the mother consort is really satisfying.
Who would you like to end up with Wen Xi when she eventually reveals herself? I like all 3 guys. Really hard to…
Yeah, bad boy/playboy characters are more interesting than dull bookworms. Girls normally go for these boys. But mothers always steer their daughters away from these and go for bookworms :D

It appears she likes Feng Cheng Jun. Really hard choice for me because all 3 are great in their own ways. If I'd have to pick one, I guess I'd go for Feng Cheng Jun too because I like book worm :D
If you want western TV Shows, you don't watch chinese dramas and expect to see something westernized. They have…
So true about the styles of Chinese dramas vs others. Even within Chinese dramas, Hong Kong, Taiwanese and Mainland dramas give us totally different experiences because they're so different in styles.
with only 4 episodes to go either we will have a rushed ending with major deaths or cliffhanger with a second…
Yeah, Chinese dramas always have lazy and shoddy endings. Easiest and fastest way is to kill off all the characters. What injustices they're doing to those fine actors.
I’m currently on ep .12 and so far so good!!! The acting is definitely on point and their visuals a no joke,…
They have used 3 exceptionally good looking tall (all well over 6 feet tall) male leads here, making Wen Bin (Wen Xi) look tiny. Average Chinese men are not this tall, so with a girl disguising as a boy is not that obvious under normal circumstances. And as she is, Wen Xi does look like a pre-puberty or malnourished boy. It's pretty notorious that small little men are normally very smart and cunning :D

Actually there are really such boys around, especially the super smart ones. They normally get bullied a lot for being looking like girls. So it's quite believable that everyone believes she's a he but they also find 'him' very girly as they've always commented (like no hair on 'his' legs, no whiskers, liking girly stuff etc).

Overall, this is an amazing drama - a must watch.
