First half of Episode 33.Episodes 31 to the first half of 33 are big episodes in terms of plot, character/ crowd…
Again, so beautifully written. Relish every word you say. So true and so heart-felt, bringing back all the scenes how dark humanity can become. Two thumbs up!
This C drama which wasn't even on my radar has become something of an addiction. I wouldn't say that it's the…
Love your write-up here. But I don't understand when you wrote, ".... TL mentioned that XS was the Conan of the Tang dynasty, hence the chin stroke I imagine. :D It may also explains why the female lead is called Ran Yan." Can you kindly elaborate the hints behind the story? It would be so interesting to know.
Surprisingly good. No big names for this cast (Ren Jialun is relatively unknown at the time of release - in fact,…
Absolutely agree with you. The first time I encountered Ren Jialun was in The Destiny of White Snake. Dropped that series because I couldn't grow to like him (may need to go back to that series now). Since then, I've been shunning Ren Jialun's dramas. Wasn't going to watch Under The Power when I saw him in it, but didn't have anything else to watch so I thought I'd just watch a few scenes. Bam! That was it. I was hooked. I was so attracted to him and his acting. Yes, Ren Jialun is not at all that good looking and tall compared to many of the new actors, but he does have his charisma like you said. Now I'm watching his old dramas, including this one.
Ok this Xie Xiao character must be the most fatuous and assinine character I have come across in a very, very,…
When he first appears in a mask, Xie Xiao is mysterious and intriguing. He has very high level martial art skills; he looks deadly. But then, when he sheds the mask, I was like, "What? Such jerk?" He's getting annoying as he doesn't understand the word, no, when you say it politely. He redeems himself when he shows all his intention is out of kindness; he's a good person at heart, just damn annoying with his insensitivity that's all.
Will they become couple in the mid episodes? *Spoiler*
Actually, they're kind of a couple from the beginning. They do everything together, helping each other out all the time, sacrificing themselves for the other. Though there's no open intimacy, they feel for each other, and jealous when they feel their relationship is threatened. It's a sweet sweet relationship that makes you want more and enjoy watching them together. :D
I'm sure the story is good but oh dear god how do you paddle through that horrendous cgi?
For me, the two main leads are too beautiful that I voluntarily ignore the poor CGI :) Together with the music, it helps to muffle all the shortcomings. Our minds only see what we want to see and ignore everything else XD
Jokes aside, yes, undeniably the CGI may not be up to par, considering it's done under a very small budget, so we simply overlook the fact (horrendous CGI in your words) XD.
