It was really painful indeed emotionally. We had had long discussions over the Li Cheng Yin character (under Recent Discussions) to help each other calm down and sort out our emotions. What an amazing drama this is. It took me a long time to come out of this drama and move on to another (well, not completely; I'm still back here, ain't I?). Now I'm stuck in The Untamed, this time for more than 2 months. Sigh! I'm so weak emotionally.

Right. He's portrayed quite differently in the drama. In the anime (I haven't finished with the book), Wei Ying encountered the dark force much earlier on and he tended to turn demonic when he was aggravated, whereas in the drama, he had control of everything, except when he was being framed and no one knew, including himself. In other words, both Jin Zi Xuan's and shijie's death were not because he lost control, but because someone else interrupted and took over control.

In a way, you're right, he did go mad, but not the crazy mad, but mad as in angry because his Wen family was slaughtered by the so-called righteous sects, and these people came all out to kill him. His shijie's death was accidental by a random guy who tried to kill Wei Ying.

It is also one of the most popular drama in Asia. All these are not hypes over nothing. It is a very beautiful drama in every sense. Let me know when you get started.

It's a shame. Both Chen Xing Xu and Peng Xiao Ran are wonderful actors but so far I haven't heard any news of any new dramas from them (if you have, please let me know). This is a great drama. If you haven't you should start watching it. But I have to warn you, it's very sad, heart-wrenchingly sad. The OSTs are beautiful. BTW, Li Cheng Yin didn't get anyone pregnant in this drama. Till the end, his heart is only for Xiao Feng.

Agree. The uncut version lays out the plot better, and helps us understand Li Cheng Yin's turmoil and motives more properly. Took me so long to get over this drama, until The Untamed came along.
