what an amazing portrayal of a villain: everything yu jingxiu does. this is so realistic; we just don't realize it in our real life.

c netz understand how the society was like during that period of time (the ming dynasty). international viewers may not appreciate it as much, as perhaps a lot of the actions/logic of the drama annoy them.

this drama is good. it's very realistic to that era of the chinese history (ming dynasty) when the rich were extremely snobbish, and the women were the ones killing and hurting the girls.

oh boy. episode 10, 8 minutes in, she was looking out the window. there are modern high rises 🙄

episode 19, the director is abusing viewers' intelligence and kindness. viewers have tried to show kindness by not dropping the drama sooner, but... blast!

haven't read the novel, but i think i'd have preferred the novel version. i don't like the drama version, ie teach/student affair and betraying the wife, not something a teacher should do as an exemplar.

it's good, especially for the first few episodes. very fast moving.
