Beginning is quite good, then it loses appeal for me, then ending is like most other C historical dramas, many people die.

She's killed by some Bei Liang assassins who are trying to kill LY. She drugs LY and disguises as QY, and dies for them.

You'll see YL's true self by episode 32, even LY acknowledges YL's straight character. :)

YL can't fight, I'm surprised too. But I remember he does fight LY in previous episodes and he is very good, or have I remembered wrong? :D Yes I like them working together, brainstorming. I just don't like QM gets herself involved too. Why let her listening in all the secret plans? Just kick her out; she's good for nothing except spoiling everything for her selfish needs.

Throughout the episodes, I haven't seen any admiration of XX from YL, so I assume love of her is not the case. I think YL is basically a decent person, so he feels sorry to cause the death of XX.

The characters are historical figures, but the love story and some of the palace events are fictional. This drama is more like a royal harem cat fights with impunity. Yawn....

In real life, at least 10 concubines died for him after he died, as that was the tradition. Dammit! Now I have a shadow over the Zhu Zhanji character! :/

People rating it low not totally because of poor subs. The plot itself is pretty bad too, despite the costumes and acting are decent :)

IKR. I was searching and hoping I was missing something. Nope! Everything is out. Dang! They spoil the whole drama. Why do C dramas always have stupid endings like this? Even if they are going to have season 2, at least give season 1 an appropriate ending point :/

I love this series; it's so funny. Great acting, great story telling. Too bad not many people realizing it.

Absolutely wrong to say any bromance or BL. Nope, none of that. This is a simple, innocent brotherly relationship, though they are of different parents. The relationship is heart warming with care and concern for each other's well being. This is a wonderful drama with great acting.

Lots of palace politics, harem fighting, royal cuisines, love triangles, etc.....
