Yes, the news of ML's death is in the last 3 minutes of the last episode. The angry mob is about the bad company that is trying to buy up Mayang Street and cheats the people. ML works in that bad company as a police undercover. His cover is blown and he's killed. The wedding scene is the wedding of their close friends. About 6 minutes before the end that says year 2000, it shows the FL and SML married with a child, and a police officer knocks on the door and gives FL a police officer's uniform and hat, that's when they find out that ML was an officer and is dead. Then the end of the drama.
FL and SML and everyone else found out that he's an undercover police many years later after he had died. The police kept this news for many years so no one knew what had happened to him. Everyone thought he was a bad dude and no one really cared where he had gone. Though sad, this is supposed to be a true story as according to the SML.
The villian YL is written as strong as LY so i cant complaint on that. Sometimes stupid villian is just so boring…
Yes, I love this villain YL too. I like very strong, vile and nasty villain, so in the end when the villain perishes, we get a sigh of relief and feel that justice is being served. I don't like, at times, they redeem the villains and make them repent and become good. That would become so boring. I hope YL perishes in the end, still mean and nasty, and unremorseful :D
Do they explain to QY why they all dismissed the mother’s case so easily?
They don't need to explain anything because for ancient Chinese, one mustn't question nor accuse one's elderly, no matter what. She would just have to accept whatever reasons she's being told. That's why she was punished by having to recite the filial piety creed for 1000 times.
I wish QY would grow some real smarts and not blurt out her suspicions before proving them..
Qiu Yan has good reasons for her suspicion because she caught the doctor and his daughter and they confessed; she just didn't realize there are multiple layers into the murder, and this also has caught Liang Yi off footed.
Legend of Phoenix is not top notched but watchable. Not as good as this one (The Autumn Ballad), actually far from it. I like his character in Legend of Phoenix though.
The first time I watched Jeremy Tsui in Legend of Phoenix, I thought his smirk was devilish in the first few episodes. Now I find him so amazing! This is his drama!
When she told him she was that little girl he saved years ago, his expression was spot on. I really enjoyed that…
Yes, that's my favorite scene too. Liang Yi's expression is spot on. His realization look is spot on. Though wordless, his acting is amazing for that scene! Have really enjoyed the two main characters, haven't been enjoying a drama like this for a long time.
To be honest it is really a surprise. Such a good drama! I enjoyed every minute, not expecting in the beginning…
Glad you've started the series. It's fun watching together. We can scream at the characters or cry with the characters together. If you watch after finish airing, then it may not be so exciting anymore :D
ML’s reaction in Ep. 13 was worth multiple watches. Such a combination of sheer delight in her presence + rue…
Yes, the ML's facial expression at that very moment is priceless. I've enjoyed that scene so much and thereafter, all his self-deprecations. The whole thing fits in so well for the next romance development. I have really enjoyed this series thus far. Humorous, funny, and yet with a lot of mysteries. Great storyline, great characters, great acting, great settings, great camera work. Yes, this is a great production.
