I noticed that in episode 2 itself, but it's weird because it would seem the accident happened while he was there…
I hope the killer is someone that we haven't seen, or is not one of the main supporting characters, including SJ's brother.

Yeah, I by chance started watching this the weekend it aired, and I don't know if I am regretting watching it 'live,' or if I am kind of glad that I can enjoy the experience. hah.

I actually don't remember the episode it was in either. It was in the first two episodes for sure, maybe the first episode?

For the previews, I think ML would have handled it and put the moms in their place, but NHS came in (because he'd emphasized to her before what a big deal it would be if it got out) and kind of made things worse...lol. But in the end, all will be good for the leads and main characters.

As to your question about the young girl. Yes, she was shot with the metal ball, but other than a mention of her not showing up to classes anymore, it's not been brought up again. We don't know if she's dead, in a coma, or what. Police too, we've only been shown them questioning NHS about her metal ball attack, no mention of that girl.

It's weird.

Ahh, thanks. I was thinking to go back and check those scenes in episode 2. I haven't really re-watched any of the episodes so this saves me from having to go back to it and check it out.

So yeah if that's the case, this is my working theory. CCY left. Perhaps even overheard/caught wind of the family drama, and left before the mother goes after the eldest daughter.

So I think by the time he and Ji visit finish visiting the memorial, he has pieced together enough, and he asks HY to gauge more information. But yeah, he is trying to also convince himself that it is because of the family he feels all this.

I could be completely wrong...probably am. LOL. But (hope you've watched the episode by the time you read this...) it would make sense why he's unbothered in the Episode 9 promo, dragging NHS out by the hand in front of all the mothers when she puts the blame on herself

Also another possibility is that he really wasn't paying attention to and doesn't remember much of what was happening around him as he was crying and upset. Still, if he in the restaurant when the FL's mother went out, hard to believe he wouldn't realize the commotion and realize/remember what happened to the mother.

Just went back to episode 2 and younger Choi was eating at the restaurant when the little girl was left there…
I noticed that in episode 2 itself, but it's weird because it would seem the accident happened while he was there too. I don't know why he asked when the mother died in ep 8, if he already knew. Maybe it was conversational and and he was confirming it was indeed the same person they are talking about. But his reaction seemed like he was genuinely going back to that time and realizing she died then.

Maybe he left during the commotion after HY was dropped off.

However, I do think he knows now that HY is FL's niece because 1) He may remember parts of that day--even if it's that she was coming from break as a National Athlete, the timeline would suggest HY isn't her daughter. Then he saw the three siblings' names at the memorial marker

2) He asked HY where she lived before and somewhat seemed to understand her reluctance to talk about it.

The reason we didn't see any kind of excitement or revelation from him realizing this early in episode 8 is because once he found out the background he was convincing himself his feelings are due to familial gratitude and obligation, so FL's marital status is trivial in that scenario.

But later, he is operating with this knowledge--explains his awkwardness and uneasiness that his blind date showed up while NHS was there. And interacting with the blind date in his office confirms to him that he has no interest in her.

But then again, I could be wrong, and he hasn't pieced together anything.

Geon Hoo is the more jealous and annoying one than Seon Jae. SJ got jealous and would call out Geon Hoo's blatant attempts, but never really got in between or tried to stop HY in her interactions with GH. He did stop GH but never HY. Whereas Geon Hoo gets in between and separates HY's interactions with SJ.

Anyway I'm rooting for SJ and GH just comes off as immature. I also think he is just trying to annoy SJ rather than liking HY.

If the killer is taking out all the problematic people for CCY, it is more harmful for CCY than helpful because he will be a suspect, and I think in the end he will always have a feeling of guilt. (Even if it's due to hatred of CCY, I think CCY will always have guilt.) Also the latest victim, actually CCY had resolved the issue and they wouldn't have been a problem anymore.

Plus the person is hurting/torturing and killing cats, making him a more sadistic person rather than just one simply obsessed with 'protecting' CCY.

now i even strongly think it is the secretary.how would his bro knoe evey move of ml
It was never shown whether he was there when the coworkers were talking about CCY. Notice, they usually never do talk about him when Ji is there. More likely, Ji left when CCY told him he was out with friends.

And he didn't know what Yi Sang was doing or overhear their conversation. He saw them in another room in the restaurant. It could be that he goes closer to overhear them if he is the bad guy, but they never showed that he overheard them. Just that he did a double take.

I don't know if they said he was much younger, rather than referring him to as the student's younger brother? So if student was 17 he could've been 13-16, going by looks

But the show itself lend itself to that discussion by their attempt to somehow state FL doesn't look young enough…
And that statement really wasn't needed to explain that CCY never entertained the thought that she could be a mother to a student. It's not unbelievable that it just never crossed his mind since he was just occupied with somehow being able to get her food. (Plus, It seems many of the students in that academy, especially his class, are from more well-off families.)

I'm just gonna start blocking people who talk about the age of these characters for my own sanity. I could just…
But the show itself lend itself to that discussion by their attempt to somehow state FL doesn't look young enough to be a mother. Granted, FL age shouldn't be a main part of the discussion and it's not. But there really was no reason for the show to do that.

It's the show which presented ageism by hinting FL is worthy because the characters/ML don't think she looks old enough to be a mother. Why? The ML couldn't fall in love with her if according to storyline she was similar to how old she actually looks? They determined the audience should suspend disbelief and believe she doesn't look old enough be a mother of a HS-er.

She absolutely does, in fact, look older than some of the other mothers (and is probably in real life). This doesn't mean she doesn't look good. But the show is the one who put forth the idea that she must look young, instead of acknowledging beauty in age. Women don't have to look young to be beautiful.

Many people really aren't dissing the actress or the age difference, but rather the fact that 1) the ages are not really clear in the time line. (Though they did establish CCY is younger, because he is only one year older than NHS' younger brother.)

Anyway it's not a big deal, but the show is the one which perpetuated ageism and wrong beauty standards with that statement, imo.

maybe the secretary is the same person as the brother of the girl that died back then. We've never actually seen…
CCY called the Secretary Gen Z I think? Anyway, I believe he is the brother but not the killer.

I don’t know why I'm suspecting that the killer might be Su hyeon’s ( the girl that died years ago) brother.Because…
I think brother and killer are not necessarily the same, I believe the secretary is the brother, which is kind of obvious from the flashback, but he neither killed his mother nor is the current killer.

Title Crash Course in Romance Spoiler
Even before 6th episode, I was hoping that the brother of the girl who committed suicide is not the guilty one. Why? Because of the answer Mrs. Jang gave to the other mothers. The Supreme Court acquitted him, which is no small matter.

To make him guilty would mean that there can't be wrong assumptions and accusations by the police. Just because police guy who honed in on the kid back then is now dejected doesn't mean that he needs to have been correct back then. Maybe the Supreme Court acquittal was valid. It's not fair to give message that people who are acquitted were really guilty.

But after 6th episode I am more confident that it is not the brother. I was also hoping the killer wouldn't be Secretary Ji, and when I saw the brother, it seems like it is younger Secretary Ji. I think they cast a younger chubbier version of him for the brother. That brother looks up to CCY, and I believe he grew up came to work with CCY, who is somewhat his idol/hero. And while, he *could* be the killer--I feel like it would be a contrived, cliched, stupid, unneeded development to make Ji/brother the killer.

Also feel SJ's brother is not guilty and a red herring. Another situation where showing him to the killer would be a wrong message, as well.
