Well, I am glad I stopped watching last week. While yes, I caught the 'hints' of it being Ji from episode one, was hoping it was just a false lead and red herring.
This thing of taking the close confidante of ML out to then make only FL and her circle being the only trustworthy people around him is really annoying and bothersome. Why are some dramas obsessed with this idea? Yes, he will have that HS teacher than he was friends with from old days, but instead of it being another friend he adds, now it becomes a replacement for the friend he lost.
Ji and CCY cannot ever repair their relationship, because Ji's going around killing people and cats.
Plus, until the CCY and NHS got together, at least CCY would tell NHS the fault in how she deals with things. Now, they will not have NHS be wrong, and the morally upright FL is right in telling CCY to stay at Pride instead of leaving and starting his own. Like, why does her noble stupidity/forgiveness have to be the right, correct course of action?
Spoilers for Crazy Love. Stop here. The rest is about CL
In Crazy Love it did make sense because it was needed in the story for ML to go along with the lie. There were a few episodes where it was not completely confirmed even after we were shown ML's suspicion. There weren't murders, no one was killed. The friend didn't try to kill him, and it was revealed in the end that all involved except for the attempted-killer called the police about the accident. The friend and ML fought in terms of the business and not by one going around on a murderous spree. And in the end, because it was conflict and enemies in business, they were able to by the end work out their issues/misunderstandings/clear the manipulation and went back to being close friends.
They're making Mr. Ji more suspicious and it's making me nervous lol 'cause if they actually do make him the killer…
Yeah, it's why I haven't watched after last week. I don't need to waste my time for the bad writing and ridiculous scenario to be confirmed. Decided last week itself after ep 10 I'd rather wait to see if it's proven wrong and watch afterwards. Shame, because I was watching soon as episodes came out till last week.
feel like they slept on the girl’s career development even though they made it seem like it was a v. big thing…
She should've gone abroad. ML should've been forced to work on his issues and have trust in her. It only would've been for three months, and even though Luo Ci liked her, it doesn't mean that they couldn't have had a non-romantic working relationship while there. Anyway, I dropped it when it was clear in Ep 15 she wouldn't go abroad.
I just have to say Do Won Joon is one of the absolute best friends I've seen in dramaland.
To appreciate it, you have to realize that not only did he correctly deduce/suspect early on that Mi-Ra was an 'anti-fan' rather than a fan, but even after Kang Ho confirms with Mi-Ra that he didn't tell Won Joon that she was an anti-fan--Won Joon later, when trying to explain to Na Eun why he is trying to match the two together, says he knows Mi-Ra didn't like Kang Ho in the beginning due to his dealings with women.
Both Na Eun and Mi-Ra asked him why he's changed his mind about Mi-Ra after not initially liking her and he never once brought up that he was right in being wary and suspicious of her. Instead he takes the blame on himself and apologizes to Mi-Ra.
It's something Mi-Ra and even the show never really acknowledges and admits...that when Won Jon was trying to get her out of as Kang Ho's lawyer, it's because she was actively trying to bring him down, and Won Jon correctly sensed that. Anyway, she got the apology from Won Jon even though he wasn't in the wrong.
That's how much of a friend this guy is. Didn't bother defending himself and just apologized and admitted he was wrong.
Watched this till Ep 15, which I skipped around to see if she would to abroad or not, which she doesn't. It bothered me so I dropped it. She only would've been away for three months and it would have forced ML to have trust and confidence in her and the relationship. It was annoying that ML won out in his tactics in the end, so I lost complete interest. Shame because till then, it was such a breeze. A light, funny watch.
Only thing I wonder is how her friend knew his friend from before. Oh, well.
I do not think what you assume is right. A more logical reasoning is that the killer tends to deal with people…
I never said I believe it to be the case. I was responding to the fact that there are quite a few comments on here theorizing that possibility. No one ever pointed out in those comments that such a scenario is problematic.
Reading my comment again, I can see where I am not clear and it seems like I am assuming it to be the case.
i can see your concern however at this point they have not made him a gay character............if it turns out…

Do people seriously think a gay-obsessed psychopath villain is just a casual no-big-deal storyline/twist? Like, this show deserves to go down in flames if that's the case. It would be insulting and derogatory.
I just wish Nam Haeng Seon trusted Choi Chi Yeol a bit more and didn't barge into the office and start spouting…
It could go both ways. I absolutely agree with you on her making it worse when he may have had it handled, and I mentioned that last week itself. CCY pointed it out to her as well, and admonished her. HOWEVER, it is hinted by both NHS and Ji that they wouldn't have let up even if he had dealt with them without her barging. It's that the parents can't stand the fact that HY got this tutoring while their kids didn't/don't.
Perhaps if he told them off well in the office and said it's their own fault since they kicked HY out of the program and it had never happened before to his knowledge, then they would've grudgingly and unhappily ended the issue there. Or...
They (the main mother, especially) are still annoyed and either give an ultimatum through the director or directly to CCY, and hear that CCY that he would rather leave the AC program. Then the next chain of events may still happen: wife discussing with husband, husband suggesting romantic entanglement, her remembering NHS coming out of the building and checking the camera.
The main mother is not the type to let it go. Her real issue is HY is better than her daughter in studies and rankings.
Very thoughtful post.I haven't re-watched every single episode, but it's clear to me that the two lead characters…
I don't care about the age difference, but I also feel like in present, the characters did and do act as if there is an age difference (while having a few inconsistencies especially within the flashback timeline). The convo about him acting young or not in episode 7 comes after NHS definitely learned his age.
I also feel like people are confusing two things. Pretty and age. One being pretty doesn't mean one has to be young or look young (or younger than they are). Like, how is that different than those people who are complaining and saying FL being too old by completely going the opposite direction saying she isn't older, looks pretty, and there is no age difference. In essence that counter-argument is also that FL shouldn't be older or look older than ML.
Anyway, i don't think it's 10 years, I do think it's a handful of years though. I agree the clothes are like two decades behind. But again, that goes back to what I'm saying that the show in present actually portrays her as older with both her and her age-peer purposely dressed in that manner. Anyway, I don't think it's 10 years, but a handful of years.
Like I said, there are there are a couple of inconsistencies, and the show is not set on codifying the age difference. Hence their attempts to do both of making it seem like there's no age difference, while at same time also making it seem like there is. If they had just acknowledged it, it would've been better. (This is also where all the examples of older ML characters in other shows also fall short. Many of those examples, the older age of the ML is acknowledged.)
In the end, either they will just keep it ambiguous or maybe even will declare they are same age in the coming episodes.
There's a double standard amongst some of those who are claiming age gap is no big deal, and at the same time claiming there is no age gap between the lead characters.
The drama did throw out two lines they really shouldn't have about her not looking like a mother of HS teen. Leaving that aside, we can assume the FL has a hard life so she looks older for her age. HOWEVER, I don't see why the huge attempt to claim that FL and ML are same age. Being on the National Team which doesn't mean teenager or early 20s. She could've been mid to late 20s 12 years ago. (But the coach treats her as a young teammate not a veteran, one of the consistency issues with the timeline.)
Furthermore, it's kind of implied that the characters themselves see themselves as having somewhat of an age gap. (But it doesn't really matter to them because they are both Grown Adults past their 20s.)
When FL younger brother called CCY 'hyung' CCY asked if he was older than, to which NJW said CCY is a year older. The point here isn't that NHS could also be only a year older than her younger brother. It's that CCY himself felt like he had to clarify and check if he was older than her younger brother.
In 7th episode, at the end, when they kept going back and forth about how he does or doesn't behave young.
Also there's the 3rd episode with the 'young man' and 'ahjumma' but some people will try and say because they both took offense, it means they are same age--but they both address the other that way because they are in a conflict and to put the other down, so they would be indignant of the other addressing them by age. Again, this situation shows how they both perceive and recognize that there is an age difference between them.
Anyway, I don't care about the age difference. For all I know next episode they will reveal that they are same age. But so far within the writing, even if FL is not her actress' age--the script and characters do behave as if she is older. Not by the full 10 years as the actors' ages, but it's not just one or two years.
Okay I haven’t watched not even one episode but seen clips, so he is trying to get rid of her and even set her…
To answer your question, though I am a few episodes behind, the truth is it never really is explained. It's left for viewers to interpret, and even then it's not with strong subtext and hints to one explanation.
His boss mentioned that if she gets remarried she will no longer have to pay alimony. When the boss suggested that, he pish-poshed it, leading viewer to think he wouldn't want that. But later in the same episode he introduced his friend to her on a surprise blind date.
Then, in next episode he was shown telling a woman going for divorce that if she is sure and prepared to deal with whatever regret or consequences, then she can go ahead.
The junior/friend he introduced had liked her I guess seeing her on tv (though how this guy is his hoobea, and wouldn't know about his gf/wife of 10 years who only was divorced 3 years ago, I don't know.)
Maybe he thought it would make his life easier now that they are working together, since he was always prepared to fully deal with the consequences of losing her.
I think he could get out of this situation fairly easily, since he's the landlord and he's holding a box of recycling.…
He's only been the landlord for two days at most, it wouldn't hold since they already suspect of tutoring a week or two ago.
Anyway, I think he is prepared to handle it and would've had it handled, but because in the beginning he had endlessly said to NHS how much of a big scandal it would be for him if news were to get out, NHS comes in to take the blame on herself---which worsens the situation and interrupts his 'don't bullsh*t/try any sh*t with me' warning to the mothers.
I agree that a new tag of ahjumma romance should be added but why is this the first of its kind? He is 39 and…
39/40 is ahjumma, no? Anyway if you mean in terms of housewife-like behavior, "O My Lady," one of my all time favorite dramas, would fall into your described category of 'ahjumma romance.' Age wise actress was young but she was an 'ahjumma' character and looked and behaved as one too.
This! Mr Ji knows how much his ex student's death affected CCY, and how his mental and physical health hasn't…
It could be due to some other reason in the private education field, and we just think it's completely related to CCY. I just hope it's not Ji or even that high school math teacher. May be someone not yet introduced.
I noticed that in episode 2 itself, but it's weird because it would seem the accident happened while he was there…
Yeah, I'm leaning towards that too. Plus he knows she's most likely single because the lady who now owns her mother's shop first asked if he's her bf. He may not have thought much of it then, just some banter from the lady, but if he thought about it may have come to a conclusion.
I'm not re-watching, but yeah this I am like looking forward to next two episodes to come soon. Interestingly, I didn't have this feeling till after these two episodes. Before I would watch soon as possible on weekends, but now I'm actively waiting for Sat episode to come
