Just a few things that irk me just a wee bit: - The 46 minutes Zheng Yu and Jia Lun have together where in reality would have taken hours for the distance they travel when they're not home), eating out, and going out and about doing other stuff - 2022 Da Jun (Zhen Yu's best friend / business partner) who knows about the time-space overlap. We never see or hear about his memory being updated. I wish there was more character development on his end or that he was used more smartly rather than the few glimpses we've seen of him. He's pretty much the forgotten sidekick at this point. - Mu Shi Ming, poor guy has about half an episode of show-time in total if we strung all his scenes together. The way they introduced him to the viewers made such an impact (had me thinking there would be more to him) and then, nothing. No character development whatsoever. Zero, zilch, niente, nada. He's a nice enough guy, but his presence also feels pretty unnecessary at this point, even in episode 19 when he tries to help the FL.
LOL, their 40min from 10:06 to 10:52 seems like a lifetime long, able to do so much things within that short length…
Probably the biggest plot hole that bothers me the most. If it takes 3 minutes just to get from the front door to outside (or about 2 minutes from the back door) - that really doesn't leave them a lot of time to do anything, much less all the traveling they do (news station, Jiang Sheng Hao's house, hospital, go-karts, ZhengYu's apartment in 2021, restaurants, etc). And especially where Jia Lan had to put on makeup and get dolled up to get to the spa - it would have taken me all 46 minutes before I left the house, haha.
A bit late to the party - I wanted to wait until most of the episodes were out to binge, can't believe it's ending this Saturday. Wish all dramas had this release schedule :)
I started today and already on episode 7. I do have one question, prior to the time/space overlap in 2022 - why didn't 2021 He Zheng Yu (ML) and Chen Jia Lan (FL) meet at their friends' wedding in 2021? They already had a close connection with the bride and groom respectively. They were both part of the bridal party in 2021 post the time/space overlap, but I can't seem to figure out why this didn't happen in the original timeline before the parallel timelines existed. I mean if fate didn't allow them to meet in the other occasions from the original timeline (e.g. lawyer's office (original meeting), the Li Ziqian case, etc), shouldn't they have met at the 2FL & 2ML's wedding?
ML & 2FL= pretty much a brother to 2FL, over 10 years of friendship FL & 2ML = best friends, grew up together
Unless there wasn't a wedding in the original timeline? Or is this answered in later episodes?
So glad this drama didn't fail me - when the Liu Shi Ba (L18) case 'ended' in episode 8 and our quattro headed on their way to Nan Zhou, I couldn't have been the only one that thought, 'Wait, what? Is that all?'. But lo and behold episodes 13-14 didn't disappoint. Great pacing with all the cases~ Not a single dull moment with this drama.
Going to keep an eye on Zhou Jun Chao's future work - his portrayal of the L17-L19 brothers was excellent!
Can't wait for the next episodes but even more so - can't wait until we get to BXF/XiYun's arc in QingZhou. I hope the drama will retain some of my favourite characters from the novel - namely Xiu Jiu Rong and Jiu Wei (especially Jiu Rong, he was definitely a favourite!)
Didn't realize Wallace Chung was starring in another drama with Li Xiao Ran, their chemistry in Stepmom's drama 'TLTSILY' was off the charts, so sizzling! Binge-watched 8 episodes, definitely a much slower burn drama but enjoying it and the supporting characters just the same :)
too much dialog i cant understand lolso.. what is the motive?? is that woman who died by truck is their daughter?…
Revenge because they feel the police officers didn't do their due diligence in investigating their daughter's (Meng Meng) death (she overheard the officers talking about sexual harassment). There was also an onslaught of hate comments left on the video where Meng Meng went berserk asking to let off the bus and the video where she was killed by an oncoming vehicle the moment she stepped off the bus).
The couple (mostly the distraught mother) wanted retribution and they thought it was apt to bomb the same bus line on the very bridge and time where/when Meng Meng died.
The mom is either very mentally ill or a sociopath/psychopath - she feels no remorse whatsoever whereas her husband (the bus driver) is remorseful and kind person by heart.
So somehow the loops are negatively affecting ML but FL is more or less unaffected?
Yup, he's mentioned ever since time has stopped rewinding earlier (from when lady bomber and nice guy with the red suitcase get on the bus), ML's been feeling weaker with each reset (hence the headaches, sweating, trouble hearing and also the nosebleed).
In the explosion in ep 12 -13, why Lu Di was not on the bus?? Did they forget to stop at his bus stop?
Everyone was evacuated once Lao Zhang received the call and text about the bomb. The bus driver recognized the police offers at the bus stop so he didn't stop and sped off instead.
Hey, can anyone spoil what happened later on the drama? I don't know chinese, but the episodes are only subbed…
Caution: Huge spoilers (so don't read if you don't wish to be spoiled!)
No one else stuck in the time loop except our two main leads.
The other cop (Xiao Jiang) is upset because his teacher/boss (Lao Zhang) dies from his critical injuries after throwing the bomb over the bridge. He wants to know how the two leads knew about the bomb and how come they had Lao Zhang's number - Xiao He Yun had sent Lao Zhang a picture of the lady bomber and texted that there was a bomb on the bus and it would go off at 1.45pm on the bridge.
In the last reset before the current time loop (episode 12), Xiao He Yun had asked Lao Zhang for his phone number.
We find out the meaning behind the 1.45pm denotation in the last two episodes - the time when Wang Xing De (current bus driver) and his divorced wife's (crazy bomber lady) daughter, Wang Meng Meng, died five years ago - on the 45 bus over the bridge.
Because of this drama, I'll associate 'Pachelbel's Canon' / 'Canon in D' preluding to a bomb exploding on a bus over a bridge instead of a wedding march...
Not a BL drama but a coming of age story that centers around the world of Go. Many fans of the original anime/manga did ship Hikaru/Akira as a fandom but there's no romance in any of the adaptations including the Chinese drama adaptation. A bit of friendly rivalry between the two youths, but no implied romance.
This episode made me cry like a lil bitch. I was so emotional the last few minutes, especially when Chu Ying starts…
@RaltzWaltz The live action's been following the anime/manga quite closely (been a huge fan of the anime circa early 2000's). If it remains so, then Chu Ying's (Sai's) disappearance is permanent. It's necessary for Shi Guang's (Hikaru's) growth, especially when he's discovering his 'own' Go and not playing his version of Chu Ying's Go. Chu Ying's disappearance will be a revelation for Shi Guang - how much he owes his love of Go to Chu Ying which will encourage him to take the game seriously and play his best.

There is a way for male lead to be in 2021 (exiting through the back door of their apartment).

From some angles, he looks like Korean actor Jung Gyu Woon - especially when he smiles and the eyes form those lovely half moon crescent shape!
