Epic drama: awesome supporting characters (likeable ones that are uniquely but easily identifiable), a great deal of humour to balance the more serious scenes and the big mystery, oh and additional points for all the scenes featuring our favourite quartets (Zhang Chu Lang, Feng Bao Bao, Wang Ye, Zhuge Qing / Zhang Chu Lang, Feng Bao Bao, San Ge, Si Ge) and duos (Zhang Chu Lan & Bao Bao / Wang Ye & Zhang Chu Lan / Wang Ye & Zhuge Qing / Zhang Chu Lan and Lv Liang).
I also appreciated that the previews kept us hooked but didn't give away any of the big reveals.
Would love for there to be a season 2 so that we can get more understanding on the remaining Eight Supreme powers (or the ninth unknown power - I'm looking at Wu Gen Shang).
Also some closure on ErZhuang too. That short scene with her and our favourite duo (ZCL and FBB) in the room was so moving.
Wang Ye's has the ultimate bagua! Did not expect his proweress in sorcery despite the clips from the official trailer.
Also, ep 13's ending, FBB and the shovel motion, lol!!! Would love to see a showdown between FBB and WY.
Next battle: ZCL vs WY
This has easily become my crack drama to counter the more scheming and darker 'My Journey to You' and we're already at the halfway mark, not eager to see this end.
The original Taiwanese version is high on my top list of favorite dramas (Li Zi Wei x Huang Yu Xuan & Wu Bai & China Blue's Last Dance ❤️), but I'm going to watch this adaptation with an open mind and try not to compare the two.
It helps that I've became an Ahn Hyp Seop fan after Business Proposal.
This show is really killing it for me! After the last episode 'reveal', I'm excited to return to the tournament fights....and more Wang Ye scenes (Neo Hou's screentime is less than expected so far).

XL removes the love bug from himself, deletes all the videos and images of himself from XY's mirror. He carves a doll using the Fu Shang God Wood and places the poisoned crystal ball (that XY gifted him) inside the doll and asked Ah Bi to give it to XY as her wedding present.
He then goes off to the final battle (it might have been in vain but he is one loyal fellow and will never abandon his godfather/saviour) and dies. :( Removing the love bug is to protect XY and she wouldn't believe he was dead at first because she couldn't 'feel' his death.

If the drama follows the novel, CX will help Jing's brother by sending him his men on the day he (Jing) was to marry XY. Hou duels with Jing and kicks him into the sea where he falls unconscious and is saved by merpeople. By the time he wakes up, it's seven years later.
When XY goes to the Jade Mountain to become the next Royal Mother (it's a lonely existence and the Royal Mother can't leave the mountain), Jing reappears.
I admit to being biased to Tan Jian Ci (can't wait for 'Under the Skin' S2), but even more so absolutely biased towards Xiang Liu. Not long now before Fang Feng Bei appears onscreen - some of my favourite interactions are with XY and FFB, soulmates for sure~
