I loved the first season and began watching the second immediately. Well, I liked the second season a bit less, but when it was over I looked forward to the movie. Now I regret that I waited a few months before I watched the movie, because I didn't get the same happy feelings at all from it. In fact I thought it was pretty boring, predictable and silly, but like PandaBearTrio says, I appreciate the message and the last part of the movie was very cute! Also, Doumyouji seemed to have matured (just a little bit) as a person, which was a nice touch.

Title Hotaru no Hikari Spoiler
I have mixed feelings about this one. At first, I thought it was very funny (even if a little bit strange) but the more episodes I watched, the more annoyed with Hotaru did I get. I do like her relationship with the manager and I hope they'll end up being together (I don't like that other guy at all) but I don't know... I'll put it on hold for now. At first I thought about it as an earlier and sillier version of Last Cinderella, but now I don't think so anymore...

I'm currently watching this and I like it a lot. Ban is a likeable character in my opinion. Also, watching this makes me hungry! ;)

I think this article is strange, I mean calling 3 or 6 years gap an AGE difference???? Really? In what world?…
I thought the same about the 3 years thing, but I guess everybody has different standards/feelings when it comes to this. I know a woman who thinks a gap of five years would make it impossible for a couple to be together, so...
Shaza Jul 30, 2013
I haven't seen any of your examples, but generally speaking I don't care about age difference if the couple have a good chemistry. Something I've noticed, though, is that in my eyes, many Japanese actresses look like they're a lot younger than what they really are. (Actors also, but especially women often look young to me.) For example, in Hana Yori Dango, the real age differences between the female lead and the boys are, I think, between five and two years, but I believe the F4 boys were supposed to be one year older. I loved HYD to the point of being obsessed, but every now and then, this thought ran through my head: "Remind me again why these 20-year-old boys are hanging out with this 14-year-old?! no, wait, that's not how it is..."

Well, I have no idea if Orange Days is something you'd like, but I enjoyed it a lot so I'm glad to hear you want to give it a try. :) And wow, summer break in five weeks? Isn't summer already more or less over by then?? *lol* Maybe not where you live... :)

Oh, I think Gokusen is just lovely. :) It's a very simple story and each episode follows more or less the same pattern, but it's so cute and funny and absolutely heartwarming. I enjoy it a lot! Yankumi is so adorable <3 and Sawada is cool :)

I'm also watching Orange Days and I like it so much!!

Arata and Nakama Yukie...I really don't think that anything could go wrong<3
So true. :) I wish this combination would be repeated in another drama!
On Shima no Sensei Jul 13, 2013
I just finished the last episode. I really enjoyed this drama a lot, and not only because my appreciation of the actors <3 Often very complicated parent/child relationships and intense emotions, but there was also such a relaxed, warm air about it, with cute and funny moments. There was character development, although there were few surprises - but there was no need. Even though I realize it might have been difficult to make this a lot longer, I do wish there were more episodes. The secret of Chihiro's past seemed to me like a somewhat unusual topic (at least as seen from that point of view) and I think it was very well handled.

I'm having too much fun watching dramas, I'm glad it's summer so I don't have to study! ;) Right now I'm watching "Liar Game" and "Gokusen" :) I haven't watched any Korean dramas yet but maybe I should... so I'll try some of your suggestions soon!

Title Liar Game
I'm currently watching this; from the start I fell in love with it but now that I'm halfway through I'm starting to be a little bit annoyed with Nao... I realize she's supposed to be super innocent, trusting and kind, but what if she only once tries to remember that she's in the LIAR game?! *lol* It's still fun, though. And Akiyama-san is cool...

I'm currently watching this (for the first time), it's very cute, I like it! And Yankumi is the prettiest ever!! <3

You’re right, I have watched a few ”rich man, poor girl” type of dramas, ha ha. Mostly because I’ve watched what people have recommended, and although I’ve enjoyed most of what I’ve watched so far, I wouldn’t say it’s my favourite genre! I guess I can’t really explain it, but when I watched Rich Man, Poor Woman – my first j-drama – I reacted to what I saw as stereotypes (in romance fiction in general, since I couldn’t compare it with other j-dramas) which sort of annoyed me, and yet I found these things were handled sort of gracefully, with a charm I couldn’t defend myself against, and so I fell in love with it… Like, “I shouldn’t like this! But I love it!!” *lol* In Hana Yori Dango, the “rich boy, poor girl” stereotypes were even worse, BUT this drama, at least the first season, worked like a drug… strange, huh?! *lol*

Well then, what is my favourite genre… I guess I like intense, forbidden passion and age-gap relationships! (Like Mitsu no aji, although I prefer older woman/younger woman, but I don’t know if it even exists in j-drama.) I like a lot of things, actually, as long as it’s not too much fighting, explosions and car chases, etc. :)

I agree, it’s a good idea to start with what’s popular. Thanks for the recommendations! :) From the titles you mention, I think I’m going to start with Liar Game, it sounds interesting.

Hi, thanks for the friend request. You seem like a fun person. :) I like your 10 quick reasons list. :) I can see that you have watched a lot of dramas and movies, do you have any recommendations? I recently completed Kimi wa petto and Last Cinderella, and now I can't decide what to watch next!

*sighs* He looks like a teenager in that picture, I wish there was a picture that shows him as the man he is now!

Thank you for this stalking guide! I saw Nakama Yukie for the first time today, in Shima no sensei. I am one of those newbies you mentioned... but as soon as I saw her I realized I must learn more about her. :)
On Shima no Sensei Jun 2, 2013
I just watched the first episode. To be honest, I was excited to see this because Arata is in it, but then I was pleasantly surprised by how absolutely lovely the main character is!! (I haven't watched many j-dramas yet so I don't know a lot about actresses/actors!) I like her character and so far I like this drama, with the warm and welcoming atmosphere at the island. I think I'm going to enjoy this!

"The older the man gets, he is even more appealing, right?" So true!! I always held this opinion about…
Yes. Classy + talented - always a good combination! :) I'm definitely going to watch more movies/dramas he's in, if I can find them! (Only seen 4 so far.)
