What is the name of the ending song? I tried to find it on YouTube but without success. Edit: I found it. It's called Bokutachi no shippai.

My biggest concern regarding Hana Yori Dango as a whole is the abuse part which is really problematic. F4 are…
I know... I have very mixed feelings about HYD. I watched it obsessively and think of it as the drama that made me love watching j-dramas, but even as I loved it I saw a lot of problems with it.

I have only seen the Japanese drama version and I haven't read the manga. I agree that the abuse/violence/bullying part is problematic and never acknowledged, I hope it will be toned down or better yet, dealt with in a good way. (Because it's not like these things [or something similar] don't happen in real life.)

LOL no one talks how great he is in PING PONG
Now that I have watched Ping Pong, I can talk about how great he is in it! And you're right, it should be talked about. :) It's a quiet movie that has a lot of intensity; he's great in it because he has a very expressive face. Even though the character doesn't smile and doesn't talk a lot, he manage to convey a lot of emotion.

Hm, there's no review for this drama! I should have written one after I watched it. I don't think I can do it justice now, I'd just be fangirling over Arata.... but I did enjoy this drama a lot, it surprised me actually.

I agree, he is awesome in Chase! Well, I think he's awesome in everything, but that's because he IS. I think he probably owns everything he's in (I haven't watched everything...) if he gets enough screentime. (I recently watched May Your Love Bloom A Hundred Years and he was in it for like one minute.)

Lol you had me cracking up so hard with your reasoning lol just love the reasons but I have a question which drama…
You sent me a PM? :) Then I think you'll have to re-send it because there's nothing in my inbox.

Anyway, I meant to post a more general comment, but I had to go away from the computer before I had the time.

Even though I might not often love the jerks, I have often wondered why people do (and indeed why there are so many apparently lovable jerks in Dramaland) and for that reason I appreciate your article. I like how you list the reason for dislike as well as for love, and it's cool how you add a song for everyone. :)

This is an interesting topic (and it's not unique for Asian drama for that matter, but from what I gather K-drama has taken this trope to heart - "sweet girl makes jerk a better man because of her pure love") and you do shed some light on it.

Thank you! You're right, it sounds like it's something I would like.
lol, I agree that rich man/poor woman is a dumb plot! RMPW was the first j-drama I watched because people told me they loved it so much, and at first I asked myself if I even wanted to watch something with that title?! It's funny though; as I was watching it, I often asked myself how many clichés it's possible to put into one story (well, I think the possibilities are endless...), but although I felt like I had seen and read that kind of story many times before, there was something about it that made me enjoy it a lot. :) I don't know; I just fell for it. (Well, but most of my emotional reactions had to do with Asahina rather than the romantic couple.) I wonder if I'll still like it as much if I rewatch it sometime in the future. (Not anytime soon; there's still so much I haven't seen yet!!)

That's the only one of the dramas mentioned or referred to in this article that I know (currently watching it). Personally I don't really like the jerks of Dramaland most of the time but I think the one in My Name Is Kim Sam Soon might have some redeeming qualities. So far (I've only watched up to episode 5) I dislike his ex more than I dislike him! Oh, and Sam Soon's ex, that's a jerk for sure!

I thought about reviewing, but I see other people have said enough already. This was not the worst movie ever, but it was rather boring and predictable in my opinion. I only finished it because I was hoping to see Arata in more flashbacks... but no such luck. :(

Well, I put it on hold, but I don't think I will force myself to finish even the first season. Tell me about a realistic romance drama? :)

*sighs* He looks like a teenager in that picture, I wish there was a picture that shows him as the man he is now!
There's a thread for suggesting change of pictures in the help section of the forum, I've just been too lazy to ask someone to change the picture, but I'll do it now since I'm not the only way to feel this way about it! :)

Hi Ela. My real name is Elisabeth, too, but it's usually shortened as Lisa. :) I just came to check out your profile because your name is always in the end of each Stalker's Guide, so I felt like I should finally know who you are. :) So you're like the boss of the Stalker's Guides? I've been thinking that I want to write one for Iura Arata, but that's for later when I have watched more dramas/movies. :)

Thank you for doing research for me! :) Well, I'm really not sure if that drama is something I'll be interested in watching... and like you said, it looks like a very small role. I guess I'll live anyway. (I kinda wonder who she is, though... maybe she's a theatre actress... or perhaps a model who happend to be hired as an extra...)

Thank you, and good night! (I really should turn off the computer and go to bed now!)

Yes, that's it for tonight. It's almost midnight, and I have to study and do stuff tomorrow... (As much as I sometimes think I'd like to, I can't be a full-time drama watcher...)
Yes, Departures was really wonderful. Also, I loved the music in it. By the way, since you like stories about music, do you ever watch French movies? This is one that I liked a lot: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103110/?ref_=sr_2

Yes, I loved it! I really enjoy movies like that once in a while, it was heart-warming, funny, and a little bit sad... I put it on my favourites list, but of course, that doesn't say a lot since I haven't watched very many Asian movies yet, for some reason I mostly watch dramas.
