Not just her, but almost every drama where those words, or words like 'righteous' or '4D personality' are used. Lazy writing that just vomits up tropes. Because, of course, you can't possibly be strong but calm, thoughtful and intelligent.
I liked the somewhat Meta parallel in episode 14 where Yumi is questioning why there are so many 'malicious' comments on her webtoon's page and her editor says "maybe they think you won't give them a happy ending."
I like yumi's cell but not yumi. She's being too self-love and end up hurting a lot of people.
Self love is important (as Ru Paul would say). And if Yumi is going to bin a man for the sheer temerity of 'having a 'phone' then imagine how miserable their married life would have been.
So, basically, this is lots of ads for various products (beer, face cream, smoothies, costume jewellery, etc) stitched together with a wafer-thin plot.
Choi Do ll and Oh In Joo I think will be the couple because Jo and Laurie were in love with each other too bad…
Jo was never in love with Laurie in the original. Laurie initially hits on Jo but later transfers his affections to Amy. Also, in this version, it's Nam Ji Hyun (Oh In Kyung) who's the Jo equivalent - a writer. Kim Go Eun (Oh In Joo) is playing the oldest sister, Meg, who (in the original) marries John Brooke, Laurie's tutor. I think John Brooke and not Laurie is the character that Wi Ja Hoon is playing since, in the Wikipedia description, he 'becomes involved with' Oh In Joo.
Well , I think the guys did commit mistakes , but Yumi isnt that great either ! What did yumi really do to deserve…
I'd like Yumi to end up as a fulfilled singleton and famous writer with lots of cats (cats judge you but don't allow themselves to be judged) but a kdrama ain't ever going to go there.
You want the people first go learn ... ok, come on, teach us the difference between love and lust since you did…
No worries. I already guessed, though. I've only ever heard two types of people come out with drivel as pompous as " I want u people first go learn what is diff between love and lust & obsession" and former addicts are one of them.
not sold on the plot. but i love JDY!!! i haven't watched any Nana drama....i wonder....the face proportions....i…
There's lots of science to suggest that attractive people are realistic about their attractiveness but that unattractive people overestimate themselves and - importantly - downgrade the attractiveness of others. I remember this whenever I see dumb-as-a-box-of-hair comments like this.
I'm still enjoying it. A 30 year old woman acting like a 9 year old after too many sweeties gave me 2nd hand embarrassment…
It sometimes works (though Lee Min Ho is another one who looks his age, not younger). The woman who played Hee Do in 2521 was a convincing 18 year old. But not in this case. That's why the little girl schtick is particularly jarring combined with an - obviously - mature face.
I know its a melodrama but it was sooooooooooooooooo over the top that I kept getting fits of the giggles. The FL did lots of screeching - as is her 'thing' - and grabbing onto people (including by the leg) in between bouts of peeping and staring blankly into space while crying prettily (that she did this last thing while the ML was making out with her was slightly disturbing). Actually, everyone cried, lots, so it somewhat lost its power to move, particularly as so much of it was clearly insincere. And special effects should be sacked for that burn scar - it looked like plasticine that a dog had chewed. I still recommend it though, it's still entertaining, it would be great to watch while drinking with friends.
So, basically, she'll spend the first 4 episodes (at least) screeching like a banshee and randomly kicking/punching the male lead. Amirite?
