OK, so at the beginning of e5, when they've just discovered the body in the sewer, Han Joon says to Soo Cheol, that the serial killer "could be watching us even now". And then the camera pans to the identikit black mask guy and a close up of . . . what? A wrist? An ankle?
According to Wikipedia the character played by Wi Ha Joon gets off with the character played by Kim Go-eun. That would make him closer to John Brooke than Laurie.
Kim Go-eun is sort-of Meg, Nam Ji-hyun is sort-of Jo and Park Ji-hu is sort-of Amy (Beth is already dead in this version) but is Wi Ha-joon Laurie? Or John Brooke? Maybe Kang Hoon is our Laurie.
Seems like it isnt getting much hype? Its not that good?
No, its massive fun. A cute, crime-busting crew, great performances, banging OST. Plus serial killers and fake supernatural (if you've watched the US series 'Psych' the premise is similar in that strong observational skills and high tech is gussied up as 'magic'.) A cute bickering brother and sister thing and Kwak Shi Yang's comedy chops. It's even a bit like FNOS, albeit that had 'real ' ghosts.
There's a scene midway through this story where the FL lead remarks that Ji Soo-ho (played by Yoon doo-joon) speaks the language of silence. I thought that was beautifully put. He doesn't do Acting 101, he doesn't give a theatre-style performance, but you're never left in any doubt about his emotional state - his love for the FL, his pain at his family situation, his jealousy of the FL/2ML dynamic, and his bewilderment at lots of commonplace things.
Sadly, I can't say the same about Kim So-hyun as Song Geu-rim. For someone who had no problem having full-on screechy meltdowns in the first episode, her interactions with the ML are curiously bland, pallid, and listless. Her affection for Soo-hoo was almost imperceptible. I think she was more interested in modeling lipgloss than performing.
Meanwhile, almost everyone else was overacting - though not always to the story's detriment. Both Yoon Park as Lee Kang and Kwak Dong-yeon as Jason gave us crazy, over the top and Oh Hyun-kyung as Nam Joo-ha was suitably villainous.
The story was fine, plain, nothing new. The side stories/secrets weren't really developed but weren't confusing. I wouldn't watch it again but I would like to see more dramas featuring some of the actors - particularly Yoon doo-joon and Kwak Dong-yeon.
It will be on Disney+ which buys rights across many territories . . . and then doesn't show it. So don't get your hopes up. Also 'tribute'? Did this person die?
it's because of her 1st relationship. she waited on that guy and he cheated, should she always wait? as they say…
But you also can't punish people for the sins of others. If their first girlfriend cheated on him, would it justify a man being neurotic and controlling with all his subsequent girlfriends, however well they behaved?
Monogamy doesn't mean you're never attracted to anyone else, ever. It means that you don't act on that attraction…
In this drama he didn't cheat - emotionally or physically. And yes, it is too much to expect people not to 'fancy' other people, briefly. for the entire course of a relationship (unless they had very low levels of libido). That surge of attraction isn't something we 'choose' (but what comes next is). And you keep bringing it back to men, only. Women also crush on other people and manage to avoid emotionally or physically cheating. Thought control is creepy and dangerous.
It almost feels like babi and yoomi are breaking up juz to breakup and create drama. Like he did nothing like…
I agree but the breakup was for the best. If, even if you behave well, your partner feels that they need to control even your thoughts and momentary feelings, that's not a good pairing,
Jfc, some comments are pathetic. Do you really have that little respect towards men that you'd never believe even…
Monogamy doesn't mean you're never attracted to anyone else, ever. It means that you don't act on that attraction by, say, cheating. And not just men, women too. Like the relentless slavering over 'oppas' on these page for example.
Probably unpopular opinion but I really like FL,she is so cool and found nothing irritating about her.Oh Yeon…
I like the actress, but not the character (so far). She's acting like a corrupt copper - assaulting people for the sake of it (out of pique or punctured vanity, it seems), illegal breaking and entering, illegal searches - when she's supposed to be 'righteous'. And dumb as a box of hair, of course. The only bits of her performance I've so far enjoyed are the OTT fight scenes.
A combination of lazy, cliched writing and a trope that kdrama seems unable to let slide.
It's particularly annoying because the rest is pretty good - properly funny, interesting plot, great OST, great performances . . .
