I really like the current iteration of the FL, the 30-year-old version, it's much better than the mental-age-of-9 version that was somehow still macking on an adult man.

Title Why Her?
There is misogyny amongst the viewers of MDL. They only like much younger female leaders paired with old or older…
Odd that you mention Goblin. I wasn't bothered by the age gap in that (like I'm not bothered by the age gap in this). What I find a bit skeevy is giving the younger person - in both cases a adult, in my culture - lots of childish qualities.

Title Why Her?
I honestly don't understand the hate. I'm loving this drama so far, and while I do see some flaws, I don't believe…
Agree. I'm still enjoying this. I think the romance with the man-child is the weakest part but its only a small part - the rest is interesting.

I found this very entertaining, though did laugh, inappropriately I expect, during some of the most 'moving' scenes. I hope no hedgehogs were harmed in the making of this programme.

If you don't respect women then you don't respect 'all' genders, since women is one of them. And it reminds me of the dickweeds who have tried to make a similar, equally specious, argument, about BLM. But, more to the point, why are you spamming this drivel on unrelated threads?

I literally just said: "I do think he likes her (rather than pities her). I think that's clear. " and you're arguing the toss?

As someone who has watched over two hundred Asian dramas (conservative estimate) in a decade and a half where…
I sometimes wonder if the writer reaction to so many tsundre male leads in the past (and East Asian Confucian/patriachal archetypes in particular) has been to lean, somewhat ridiculously, to the other extreme; to endlessly scrutinse, judge and code some male behaviours (.e.g lending someone your jacket ) as 'toxic' while not applying the same standards to women?

But only in dramas, and only, I suspect, because women are the main consumers of the product. I don't see so much of it in the real world.

I do think he likes her (rather than pities her). I think that's clear. I just don't know (I'm an episode behind) whether that's romantic/sexual, yet. It doesn't help that the word 'like' has different meaning across cultures.

She's not intentionally breaking hearts. And neither are they. They're just not a good fit, that's all.
She agreed to eat (it was a coffee, actually) with him to tell him she was back with Babi because she knew he was macking onto her. The going to hospital thing is a kindness (like offering jackets., when some is cold). You don't abandon friends at a hospital particularly if they got hurt while you were with them. I agree, though, that she shouldn't be back with Babi.

I agree she never loved Babi but I don't think she loves Woong currently/any more either.

Woong steal my attention in the latest episodes, he just unbelievable cute 😆 all about him is cute, just like…
I prefer Woong over Babi, but neither are a good fit for Yumi. All three of them are basically decent people who deserve to be happy, though, whether that's with other partners or happily single.

She's not responsible for his happiness. And, yes, she was a bit smug. But the alternative was to string him along, letting him think he still had a chance.

Yes, I've seen that elsewhere on this page. That simple kindness is flirting/crossing the line. Bizarre-o world. It reminds me of the alleged texts from that Korean actress to her then boyfriend, telling him he couldn't even look at, smile at or say hello to, his female co-workers.

Saw a lot of hate for Babi on some other platform and I was so worried for how he would hurt Yumi. Now up to ep…
I think she was right to dump him, for the record. Not because he did anything 'wrong' but because, as you say, she has the emotional maturity of a teenager or a middle-aged person who has never been in a relationship but who reads lots of cheesy romance novels. She's also not actually in 'love' either. If your standards are that high/irrational/illogical it's best to be with someone with similar standards (who you can then call 'controlling') or nobody at all.

At this point I'm watching it purely for the cells. They're hilarious. IMO neither relationship is salvageable…
I suspect we will get a forced/rushed ending. The same squeakers who see Yumi as an 'angel' above criticism and one or both of the MLs as not good enough/downright toxic, will also never accept that Yumi could be happily single.

A trainee at work 'confessed' (sort of) to him. He was momentarily shook/swayed by that confession (though didn't take her up on her offer either). He attempted to move away from her in case (at least according to his own words) Yumi wouldn't run into her while visiting him and get the wrong idea. While visiting him at Christmas Yumi did, indeed, run into the trainee (the Eve Harrington of this story) and trainee made sure that Yumi knew she'd confessed and that Babi was moving because (her interpretation/maybe Yumi's) he didn't trust his own feelings. Yumi dumps him at this point and doesn't allow him to discuss or explain.

Yumi needs to be with someone who (a) she can't be suspicious of (because no-one else will ever be attracted to them), or (b) who will be prepared to be a doormat , with no thoughts of their own that she can't interrogate or judge or (c) be happily single.
