This is wonderful. The dialogue, like the banter where they're in the pub for the friend's birthday - is so very real, acting from everyone is utterly believable. Even in Yeom Mi Jung's dialled back performance, there is so much life, so many microexpressions.
Joong Gil despising people who try to take their lives just solidifies for me that this is about understanding…
In the context of Korea, suicide (counterintuitively) is an act that's judged both more harshly than where I live and - at the same time - less. And, despite celebs with mental health problems taking up the news bandwidth, most of the people who commit suicide are old and poor: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suicide_in_South_Korea
This sentence is a bit confusing: "A fictional historical drama that begins when Lee Tae, the enemy of King Sunjong who became king after the rebellion, ascends to the throne of Joseon."
Is it suggesting that Lee tae is Yeonsangun of Joseon?
I hated My Love From the Stars so much. The female lead (great acting, mind) was such a thoroughly unappealing character - a self-absorbed, neurotic, drunk - that it was incomprehensible to me that this superior young alien would cross time and space to be with her.
Can someone explain this to me what is kim hee woo profession? It says prosecutor but he is doing interrogations…
In all the Korean dramas I've seen featuring 'prosecutors' they seem to act as a sort of police/legal hybrid, investigating crimes and even arresting suspects. I don't know if that's an accurate portrayal of the reality; in many systems (including mine - UK), the police arrest/investigate and the barristers represent the prosecution or defence in court. But in France, for example, even judges investigate crime, so maybe the Korean system is more like that?
Why were people so happy about this drama yesterday and now this place seems like it's starting to become a battlefield?…
A lot of MDL commentators are excessively prudish. They're happy to watch people beat the hell out of each other (particularly female on male violence) or relentless 'cute' drunk, vomiting scenes but a mere hint of infidelity and they come over all pearl-clutching and cat's bum face.
4.5......How can anyone credibly rate something after one episode. It is not exactly an informed opinion. Even…
Someone who struggles to put on their shoes in the morning rated it before it even aired. Perhaps they're concerned it won't have enough drooling scenes?
