Am I strange for not liking the English songs on the OST? I want to hear songs in Mandarin even though I can’t…
But it was for comedy purpose. Hahahah I love it though. Whenever they randomly play an English song or classical song in the bg to set the mood, I find it so funny 🤣🤣
I've never seen costume c-dramas do it like this, so I think it's a breath of fresh air. The choice of music to elevate the comedy has been impeccable.

ep 24 was so good. It's funny how some on here are guilty of the same thing you guys accuse Song Yimeng of doing.…
I'm really getting frustrated with CGH. But one thing he said kinda struck me. He asked Yimeng if being good meant they could be trampled on or have things taken away from them. I feel that guilt's been eating him up because he did choose to trust Nan Heng to send help, but he lost his father because of that trust. In a way, I feel that CGH still has the same fear Yimeng has of trusting NH previously.

Before finding out that NH was LSL, Yimeng always hesitated in trusting NH and still thought he's definitely a bad guy. So she was afraid to put her trust in him. The same goes for CGH. He probably fears that he'd lose the things and people he valued once more if he trusted Nan Heng again, because Nan Heng still hasn't proven to him otherwise.

It sort of feels like CGH's plan is to become a monster to fight the monster. Only difference here is that he's still unaware his enemy isn't actually a monster. I still believe CGH isn't bad, but his judgment is clouded by his guilt, fear, and hatred. Sigh...If only Nan Heng and CGH had a chance to talk things out, they could be a strong team together.

the fl hate is so forced, god forbid a woman who does not wanna die bc she knows all the main plots in the drama…
And there'd be women going "I LOVE RED FLAGS 🥵"

Any sane and logical woman would stay far away from a guy like Nan Heng, tbh. And people keep saying fl isn't putting herself in ml's shoes. Erm....what about ml putting himself in her shoes????

This comment section makes her look like the worst female lead to ever exist 😭
And the only reason people will stop hating on the FL is because she's head over heels for him. Otherwise, she deserves all the hate. People will keep hating on her until she becomes foolishly in love for the ML.

Ok, done with ep 24. The ML's uncle should die; he's evil. The King should die a hundred more times; not fit to…
In other words.....you're saying whatever Nan Heng's done should be forgiven, should be excused, and are ALL justified? And anyone who questions him or doesn't trust him should be killed? How about Nan Heng putting himself in Yimeng's shoes?

You guys are putting the ML on a high pedestal and it shows. The ones not making sense are people who are hating on the FL in this series. Who in the world with a logical and rational mind would be gullible enough to trust the ML so easily just because he's done some nice things when he's been portrayed as a bad guy for so long?

You know those people who complain "why do these characters become so dumb after falling in love" and then get mad at them? Well, guess what? The FL here is NOT being dumb even after she has fallen in love. She DOES NOT blindly trust the ML because she's NOT GULLIBLE. She's got a mind of her own and doesn't act like some naive lovesick teenager.

Thinking you've escaped the script because you fell for another character, but nope, just another persona of ML.I…
Exactly. When she was almost having a breakdown repeating to herself that events in the script stayed the same, I had chills.

Wow FL does NOT deserve nan hang. I feel so sorry for him. As if he’s not hurt by her words enough when he was…
Lol you guys are putting ML on a pedestal to the point of being ridiculous. Nan Heng has been good to Yimeng, but he's also been mean to her at first, and up till ep23, he's been constantly lying to her, and not coming clean about a lot of things. How do you expect Yimeng to trust him? If someone's been lying to you about their identity this whole time and made you look like a fool, wouldn't you be mad?

Nan Heng hurt Yimeng just as much with his actions. So don't excuse Nan Heng's wrong decisions and lies, and blame everything on Yimeng just because you like the ML more.

To know that the script never strayed away from the plot is actually pretty scary. From Yimeng's pov, it would feel like all her efforts were futile and all the bad things would still happen.

I was too naive. I thought when she finally finds out about Li Shi Liu, she would come to trust Nan Heng even more. But I didn't realize I had been brainwashed by illogical drama plots 😂 Yimeng being mad at him for lying to her all this time definitely made more sense, coz I'd be mad too!! She really trusted Li Shi Liu this whole time and worried about him, but Nan Heng never once came clean even when they sort of confessed feelings to each other with that kiss. But I'm so happy that Yimeng stood her ground and put Nan Heng in his place instead of forgiving him so quickly. Anyone would've been mad, tbh. Only someone who's foolishly blinded by love would rejoice upon finding out.

Yimeng is a tough girl, and she's from the modern world, so she thinks more logically and rationally. Just some touching and sweet words from Nan Heng would barely convince her. And people here are calling her dumb and naive....smh. So you're telling me you'd blindly believe a guy's a good person just because he's done a few nice things when most of the time he's done bad things and lied to you too? Hilarious.

Yimeng's biggest goal was to change the script, but all the iconic scenes have still happened. On the surface, it seems like nothing has changed. But I think Yimeng has yet to realize that details of those iconic scenes have been different. The most evident one being the affair between Nan Heng and Yiting.

I also love how Nan Heng doesn't back down from his uncle. His uncle is truly vicious. I hope his uncle is properly punished and made sure to hold no more power. His uncle knows if he admits to tampering with the letter from Chu Guihong, Nan Heng would kill him for sure. But NH definitely suspects him already.....

Ep24 ended with such a cliffhanger but I'm so happy to see the Nightwalkers!!!! Love them!!!! Nothing bad better happen to these cinnamon rolls. Don't pull a "Journey to Love" on them, please.

I’m honestly mad at both of them, all these misunderstandings are basically their fault. But at the same time,…
Oh, that might actually work. I keep forgetting that it's easier to make Yimeng listen to LSL's explanation than NH's. When Yimeng and Chu Guihong were getting close, I was panicking too and wondered what he could've done. At that point, the only thing I could think of was what Yimeng told him—the affair.

Gotta admit that NH really panicked and made the wrong call. But on second thought, he was able to brilliantly scheme around Chu Guihong's trap, yet messed up big time with this. Only reason I could think of, was that he let his emotions (selfish desire and fear) lead him when it came to Yimeng, whereas with Chu Guihong, he was able to think rationally.

Title A Dream within a Dream Spoiler
So, in the original script ML is typical villain who say forever then cheated and killed FL.. then our FL transmigrate…
I think it's best to view this as two different scripts (original and new) and 4 different characters. The ML in the original script and the ML in the new script are very different people. The FL in the original script and the FL in the new script are also very different. Because the FL in the new script has made different decisions and actions, it has changed a lot of the new ML's actions too.

At the beginning of the drama, the FL in the modern world criticizes the ridiculous plots in the script, such as the stabbing triangle, and how the FL in the script blindly and stupidly falls in love with the ML even though he's a bad guy. The FL in the modern world hated all of that. So, there was a voice telling her to write the script if she thinks she's that good, and suddenly she woke up as the FL in the script. That's why everything that's happening now is somewhat written by the new FL, because she is trying to change the ridiculous plots, and avoid all the deaths caused by the ML in the original script.

People are saying ML is misunderstood because the FL in this new script has read the old script and found out that the ML in the old script was a very bad person. And she's afraid the ML in the new script would be the same. And to make things worse, the ML in the new script wasn't very friendly to the FL at first, so it made the FL think that ML in this new script is also a bad person, but actually he is not. He just has many secrets. That's why he gets misunderstood by the FL, because the FL doesn't know about all that yet.

But as the story goes on, the new ML and new FL learn more about each other. It's just a bit harder for the new FL to see that the new ML isn't a bad person, because the new ML is keeping a lot of secrets, and he seldom tries to explain his actions. Sometimes, he just lets the misunderstanding happen. So it's not because the new FL is stupid, but because the new ML is making it hard for the FL to trust him.

All that being said, I think both the new ML and new FL are very interesting characters, and the story is very interesting too.

Seriously. I actually liked Yiting in the beginning. But she was actually getting on my nerves forcing herself on Shangguan He in the last couple episodes and now putting Nan Heng in a jam....

Especially how she got mad at Shangguan He for being mean, but she was the one who cornered him first. He tried to play it nice but she couldn't take no for an answer. If the roles were switched, it'd be just as uncomfortable to watch. Just because Yiting is a girl doing this to a guy doesn't make it okay...

But if he didn't do that, it would ruin Yiting's reputation and have his other identity exposed. I don't blame Yimeng at all, but I also feel bad for Nan Heng in this case because he didn't expect Yiting to drug him. I really couldn't think of a better solution, tbh. He didn't have much time to think either.

I'm not mad at either because I feel that they both were in difficult positions. Though I can't deny it IS both their fault. Hahah. But I'm also enjoying them going through this whole ride and eventually building solid trust between each other 🥹

Title A Dream within a Dream Spoiler
Yimeng is not dumb like some people have been complaining about her. She just has limited knowledge. The viewers…
THIS!!! And I believe if they work together, they can change even more. Because now, with Yimeng's efforts alone, she has changed quite a lot. NH has fallen in love with her for real, she's kept her family alive, she minimized the damage of the fire disaster, and now she's also changed the truth behind Yiting and NH's affair.

Though, it did make me wonder how much of the original plot weren't what she thought it was. But it's also true NH killed her entire family, and that couldn't have been some misunderstanding....so I'm leaning towards the fact that present Yimeng has the ability to change the plot.

How to solve this, imagine yourself in SYM's place with HER knowledge. Not the knowledge we watchers have.
This needs to be put in CAPS in the summary. Seriously, people hating on SYM is ridiculous.

Some of you don’t really get the characters at all. Yimeng is not the villain here and Heng is not an innocent…
Exactly! SYM has been one of the most logical FL's ever. People just can't stand the FL not blindly falling in love with the ML. I love that the FL even criticized characters like that herself, but it's ironic that some viewers of this drama are actually hating the FL for the exact reason.

SYM has been changing the plot since she arrived. A lot of things have followed the original storyline, but the intentions have changed. For example, NH and SYT's situation. It's really fun to see how SYM changes the outcome for the better even if certain incidents still happen.

I really hated how SYM's stepmom kept blaming her for everything. Then again, SYM has been doing the same to NH. In the original plot, the whole family did die because of her. And the original SYM wasn't like this either. So it's actually understandable.

And judging by ep23 preview, I'm guessing SYM guessed Li Shi Liu's real identity that's why she wanted to test if it's true!! AHHHHH and the kiss in ep21 with the belugas was just soooo cute!!!!
