Not liking what Nan Heng was telling Shangguan He in the preview....but omg if he found out Yiting had an affair with Nan Heng in the original script.... πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Now everybody is refusing to stick to the original script except the writer himself. The story just gets more and more interesting. Only 6 episodes left, so I hope it ends on a high note as well! The pace and buildup have been really well done. Many dramas fall flat in the middle or in the final quarter, but so far, ADWAD hasn't disappointed. Really looking forward to the ending. Please give us a happy ending!! And all of the FL and ML's sidekicks better stay alive!!!!

Does anyone know what the iconic scene for episode 39 in the script means? From the translation she becomes a…
"人彘" (ren zhi) is basically referring to a kind of horrifying punishment where all limbs are cut off, eyes are gorged, tongue also cut off. They will be made mute and deaf. Some will even have the person's nose cut off. The punished person will then be put in a barrel to suffer until they die. Hence, "living corpse".

I thought the typing sounds were only heard by us, and Yimeng and Nan Heng couldn't hear them. There's 3 iconic scenes left. How are things gonna play out?? The stabbing scene is next!!

Yimeng persuading Nan Heng to jump off the cliff was hilarious!! It sounds so much funnier if you understand Chinese, because I feel that the English sub was a little lacking in conveying the same level of humor right there.

And Flight of the Bumblebee suddenly dropping out of nowhere when Nan Heng tried to start a fire!!!! 🀣🀣 The editing for that part was so good!!!! The ML failing to start a fire is definitely an old joke, but in a costume drama setting with Flight of the Bumblebee adding the suspense? Never saw that coming. I love it so much πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I've also come to like Yimeng's father more and more. He seemed like a sly coward in the beginning, but I can't blame him. Being in his position, it's important to always read the room because you're walking on thin ice. I like that he always put his daughter first. He was neither on Nan Heng or CGH's side. He was on Yimeng's side.

I'm not holding out hope for them to be on friendly terms again at this point. As long as they stop seeing each other as enemies, clear up the misunderstanding, and go on with their separate lives, that's good enough for me.

That's true. They all have issues for sure. Especially for Nan Heng and CGH, both of them carried issues which stemmed from their childhood. It won't be easy to overcome, but I hope they eventually get there.

In other words.....you're saying whatever Nan Heng's done should be forgiven, should be excused, and are ALL justified?…
First off, please read again what you wrote in the first comment:

"Song Yi Meng, she needs to be slapped many times until she wakes up from drowning herself in her own one-directional judgement. Girl needs to put herself in others' shoes for once and understand their perspectives to better save her own self and change her fate. Nan Heng, he should just kill everyone and find someone who will love and treasure him."

Then in your reply:
" I am not protecting or siding with the ML here." and "...not to hate on her..."

You're basically contradicting yourself. Now, I have only stated why Yimeng doesn't deserve all this hate. I have not said the same things about Nan Heng that you said about Yimeng. I do not hate Nan Heng. I'm seeing this as both their fault and both their growth. But you have expressed your hate towards Yimeng and even said she deserves to be slapped and killed by Nan Heng? Who's being one-sided here?

Anyway, thanks for your reply and hope you have fun watching too.

I'm so worried for the Nightwalkers....and Fu Gui....😫
Exactly! Especially with all the parodies done previously. They better not give us another Journey to Love and Prisoner of Beauty scenes that would break my heart. Going through those once was enough.

But it was for comedy purpose. Hahahah I love it though. Whenever they randomly play an English song or classical song in the bg to set the mood, I find it so funny 🀣🀣
I've never seen costume c-dramas do it like this, so I think it's a breath of fresh air. The choice of music to elevate the comedy has been impeccable.

ep 24 was so good. It's funny how some on here are guilty of the same thing you guys accuse Song Yimeng of doing.…
I'm really getting frustrated with CGH. But one thing he said kinda struck me. He asked Yimeng if being good meant they could be trampled on or have things taken away from them. I feel that guilt's been eating him up because he did choose to trust Nan Heng to send help, but he lost his father because of that trust. In a way, I feel that CGH still has the same fear Yimeng has of trusting NH previously.

Before finding out that NH was LSL, Yimeng always hesitated in trusting NH and still thought he's definitely a bad guy. So she was afraid to put her trust in him. The same goes for CGH. He probably fears that he'd lose the things and people he valued once more if he trusted Nan Heng again, because Nan Heng still hasn't proven to him otherwise.

It sort of feels like CGH's plan is to become a monster to fight the monster. Only difference here is that he's still unaware his enemy isn't actually a monster. I still believe CGH isn't bad, but his judgment is clouded by his guilt, fear, and hatred. Sigh...If only Nan Heng and CGH had a chance to talk things out, they could be a strong team together.

the fl hate is so forced, god forbid a woman who does not wanna die bc she knows all the main plots in the drama…
And there'd be women going "I LOVE RED FLAGS πŸ₯΅"

Any sane and logical woman would stay far away from a guy like Nan Heng, tbh. And people keep saying fl isn't putting herself in ml's shoes. Erm....what about ml putting himself in her shoes????
Replying to 13928146 Jul 5, 2025
This comment section makes her look like the worst female lead to ever exist 😭
And the only reason people will stop hating on the FL is because she's head over heels for him. Otherwise, she deserves all the hate. People will keep hating on her until she becomes foolishly in love for the ML.

In other words.....you're saying whatever Nan Heng's done should be forgiven, should be excused, and are ALL justified? And anyone who questions him or doesn't trust him should be killed? How about Nan Heng putting himself in Yimeng's shoes?

You guys are putting the ML on a high pedestal and it shows. The ones not making sense are people who are hating on the FL in this series. Who in the world with a logical and rational mind would be gullible enough to trust the ML so easily just because he's done some nice things when he's been portrayed as a bad guy for so long?

You know those people who complain "why do these characters become so dumb after falling in love" and then get mad at them? Well, guess what? The FL here is NOT being dumb even after she has fallen in love. She DOES NOT blindly trust the ML because she's NOT GULLIBLE. She's got a mind of her own and doesn't act like some naive lovesick teenager.

Lol you guys are putting ML on a pedestal to the point of being ridiculous. Nan Heng has been good to Yimeng, but he's also been mean to her at first, and up till ep23, he's been constantly lying to her, and not coming clean about a lot of things. How do you expect Yimeng to trust him? If someone's been lying to you about their identity this whole time and made you look like a fool, wouldn't you be mad?

Nan Heng hurt Yimeng just as much with his actions. So don't excuse Nan Heng's wrong decisions and lies, and blame everything on Yimeng just because you like the ML more.

Title A Dream within a Dream Spoiler
To know that the script never strayed away from the plot is actually pretty scary. From Yimeng's pov, it would feel like all her efforts were futile and all the bad things would still happen.

I was too naive. I thought when she finally finds out about Li Shi Liu, she would come to trust Nan Heng even more. But I didn't realize I had been brainwashed by illogical drama plots πŸ˜‚ Yimeng being mad at him for lying to her all this time definitely made more sense, coz I'd be mad too!! She really trusted Li Shi Liu this whole time and worried about him, but Nan Heng never once came clean even when they sort of confessed feelings to each other with that kiss. But I'm so happy that Yimeng stood her ground and put Nan Heng in his place instead of forgiving him so quickly. Anyone would've been mad, tbh. Only someone who's foolishly blinded by love would rejoice upon finding out.

Yimeng is a tough girl, and she's from the modern world, so she thinks more logically and rationally. Just some touching and sweet words from Nan Heng would barely convince her. And people here are calling her dumb and naive....smh. So you're telling me you'd blindly believe a guy's a good person just because he's done a few nice things when most of the time he's done bad things and lied to you too? Hilarious.

Yimeng's biggest goal was to change the script, but all the iconic scenes have still happened. On the surface, it seems like nothing has changed. But I think Yimeng has yet to realize that details of those iconic scenes have been different. The most evident one being the affair between Nan Heng and Yiting.

I also love how Nan Heng doesn't back down from his uncle. His uncle is truly vicious. I hope his uncle is properly punished and made sure to hold no more power. His uncle knows if he admits to tampering with the letter from Chu Guihong, Nan Heng would kill him for sure. But NH definitely suspects him already.....

Ep24 ended with such a cliffhanger but I'm so happy to see the Nightwalkers!!!! Love them!!!! Nothing bad better happen to these cinnamon rolls. Don't pull a "Journey to Love" on them, please.

I’m honestly mad at both of them, all these misunderstandings are basically their fault. But at the same time,…
Oh, that might actually work. I keep forgetting that it's easier to make Yimeng listen to LSL's explanation than NH's. When Yimeng and Chu Guihong were getting close, I was panicking too and wondered what he could've done. At that point, the only thing I could think of was what Yimeng told himβ€”the affair.

Gotta admit that NH really panicked and made the wrong call. But on second thought, he was able to brilliantly scheme around Chu Guihong's trap, yet messed up big time with this. Only reason I could think of, was that he let his emotions (selfish desire and fear) lead him when it came to Yimeng, whereas with Chu Guihong, he was able to think rationally.
