Most people care about the side love plots though, you can't treat this drama like a normal kdrama, it is a world…
Oh come one what kind of comparaison is that ? hahaha
There were no filler episodes in GOT, apart from the last season lol.
What I meant is that, in the kdrama industry, dragging always happens at some point in most productions, so there is no reason to be shocked that it happens here too, especially when we have more episodes than the 16 expected one.

Creating an army of mages wasn't new???
not really? I mean at least to me, idk, it was kind of obvious that he was using the soul ejector to keep his friends alive from the first time we saw it do it and to gain power the second time we saw it attempt it (but failed obviously), so it's not surprising that he's keeping mages on his side alive when they grow old. Or did I misunderstood who the mages were?

I don't see the crown prince as a parody. He is more like friend to be. My olny regret is that we don't get too…
Idk, he's the crown prince, how does he have time to waste on a servant who plays him all the time?
And you're right, nothing on his mage side, but nothing on his crown prince side either. Like I said, it's like he's only here to move the plot, we only see him when the plot need his crown prince privilege or whatever to move the plot a bit. And for him to care so much about a servant's opinion feels unrealistic a bit ? idk, I don't understand his writting...

Well at least the people who complained Naksu was not being a good master were again proven wrong.

We knew that the queen had the Ice stone and we already knew how Jin Mu used the soul ejector so that whole part was a bit redundant.
One of the only relevent thing was the bet (Jang Uk gets to train more) and that bit of info about BY being brought back to life through the ice stone (+connexion between the ice stone and the king's star). I assume it has a connexion to the mirror saying Mudeok was the ice stone.
Mudeok's friend pretending to be BY was obvious the second she got taken, so no surprise, but, eh sure, still plot.
I can definetly see how this episode was seen as a bit of a filler since there were not much new info (only 3/4 important ones) and the place of the side romance was enormous, so of course for those who don't care, it's too much.

What bothers me personally is that I really don't know what they are doing with the crown prince. They wrote him to care about Mudeok but in such a weird and unrealistic way, I don't understand. I feel like his whole character is a parody. It could have been funny if the parody side of his character didn't serve the plot so much (Jung Uk unsealed his sword because of him, Mudeok got in Songrim because of him, now Jang Uk trains because of him). It feels like plot laziness and I really hate that I don't understand what's the point of writting him like that except to serve the plot (and Mudeok).

I'd like to say that you won't find many 16 episodes drama that use perfectly their 16 episodes, most should have less episodes, and yet...so to expect a 20 episodes one to not drag is wishing for a lot lol

Thanks for the spoiler on the webtoon, I wondered what happend after since S3 is not happening!
Knowing they couldn't make with a third season, they should have chose one of the two mains, introducing the last guy and leaving it on an open ending kind of thing is stupid imo

On Yumi's Cells Season 2 Jul 22, 2022
Title Yumi's Cells Season 2 Spoiler
I was rooting for Woong (since they did such a bad job with Yumi and Babi's relationship) but honestly I was rooting for a more structured ending. We can tell they tried to put as much content as possible in the second half given that the third season we were suppose to have is not happening. I assume that guy in the end is the love interest that comes after in the webtoon. Since they could not introduce him properly I felt like the second half was dragged in a fake suspens plot with the combo possible love triangle + break up/make up, and all of that in so little time that it just felt like they were trying to rush it all.
The last 2 episodes really were : so marriage, family meeting + perfect daughter in law, also time skip (love is gone), in fact no marriage (but love is back), ah woong the return... and babi? nope, new love intesrest, bye.

They took their time in the first season, showing us even the cells of Woong which gave soooo much dept to their relationship which was lacking a lot in the one Yumi had with Babi. I never felt like they were trully in love, not like with Woong, especially because both of them went for the other in order to forget their ex. I feel like they tried to give Babi and Yumi's relationship but rushed it so much and then ended up giving up and put as much content as possible in part 2. Again, this can I assume be explained by the fact that no season 3 meant rushing the story. I even tried to defend Yumi's decision in breaking up with him but I swear I was like "does she even care ? Is she even in love with him?". I couldn't buy in their relationship. I felt the love coming from Babi (prompts to PJY, he's really skilled) but never from Yumi. Babi is a true mystery to me because of how little we saw his cells, it's a pity, I feel like I could have liked him a lot more and PJY did a good job portraying the sweet guy that Babi appears to be (though his face probably helps a lot haha)... We still don't know why he decided to hide Yumi the moment he fell in love with her ? If someones reads the webtoon and know, I don't mind the spoiler.

They didn't even give the two male love interest any rest, both of them are not over her which hint at a potential third season but if it's not happening, at least have them move on, end it.
It was a given that she would not choose any of them because of how the webtoon went, but since S3 is not happening, ending on a "let's jump to another guy" makes it look like we are back at season 1 with Yumi still not in a happy relationship, so what was the point of these 2 seasons in term of story telling ? She got 2 boyfriend and then back to square one ? Nice....
I don't even feel like her she had any character growth lool. The only good thing she did was take the risk of being a writter and that was not even coming from her but from Babi. I felt like she was younger and more immature in S2 than in S1, for some reason....
Anyway, S1 was better, disapointed with S2

Why they don't make the second season? So many people would be happy...😭😭😭
The show was airing at the same time as Love in the Moonlight and people prefered to watch that historical show rather than SHR because it was the first drama of PBY after reply1988 (he was very popular after it). So the ratings were not good enough for a s2

so at the end was Wang So remembered as the greatest king of all or what they call "the bloody monarch" ??
In the show he is known to have killed all his relatives and then the show shows us that there is a context to it. The plot is a bit surrounded around that quiproquo. In real life it's both.

worst kdrama I’ve ever watched I thought it would be good cause everyone seems to like it but it’s just not…
"how can she like her cousins husband"
It's not her cousin???
"10 eps in and she doesn’t even like the ML"
there are 20 episodes, if you started watching it only for the love story to carry the show then of course you're going to be disapointed halfway.

Okay, first timer here and i just HAD to create an account because you all were KILLING me with all the theories.…
Welcome to MDL! :)
Your theory about Mudeok being the ice stone or at least the vessel to it follows the consensus, it has been revealed in episode 7 or 8 I think. However as for Mudeok not being BY, everyone agreed before that they were the same person. In the end, we got more answers during the last two episode so you will see for yourself once you watched episode 9 :)

The biggest Plot hole of the drama is the Master-Pupil relationship between the two main characters which doesn't…
It's true but the circumstances are not the same as a regular pupil. He didn't have his gate open at all at first so she had to make sure it was. Then they had to train him for the fight against the crown prince that he didn't even agreed to, which was the most urgent matter at hand. She taught him enough to beat him which earned him a place in Songrim (don't mind the typo) which is what he wanted since the get go. Training least years and years. His peers have been training since they were children and are far from being good enough mages (they leave a long life remember). You can't expected a 20yo long type of training to happen in a month.
